Yelena and Vienna had taken the jet back with Fury and Maria, leaving the  rest of the Young Avengers to take their own jet.

"We're not joining your boy band," Vienna told him sternly, "this agreement, it won't be permanent."

"Don't fancy being an Avenger huh?" Fury chuckled, looking over at Yelena who was watching her sister as she frowned.

"Avengers die," Vienna said, glancing over at Yelena with a softer expression, "I won't lose another sister. I'm kind of running low on the supply."

Yelena gave a soft smile as she turned her head away to look at the floor. Vienna wasn't one to be sentimental now, she had barely had a non-sarcastic or sharp word out of her since they had reunited.

"One mission it is then," Fury nodded, swiping at the screen of a tablet, "Take a look at this. We've been hearing an increase on noise from Hydra about some kind of plan, project, whatever you wanna call it."

Fury handed the tablet over to Yelena, showing her the file that they had on the current situation. Vienna's eyes flicked over as she listened to him explain the mission. The picture in the corner of the screen made her stomach drop.

"Recognise that one?" Fury asked, taking note of the darkness in Vienna's eyes, "Ivan Novikoff, he's the lead developer at the Hydra scientific devision."

"I know, he made me," Vienna said quietly, "he and Dreykov were the two people I saw the most since I was born. Even more than Melina. Novikoff was the Hydra representative on project Red Widow."

Fury nodded as he took in the information, he hadn't considered the risk this could impose on the mission. "We need information from him, is that going to be a problem?"

"Files speak more than people do," Vienna said sharply, glancing down into the eyes of the man that spent years sticking needles on her arms and testing her every vital, "he wouldn't let you take him alive anyway, his death won't make a difference."

"You better pull through," Fury told them both, leaning back in his seat, "you'll have a team to keep you safe, but that information is key. You get it no matter what."

"Yes sir, I've only ever failed once," Vienna mumbled as she took the tablet from Yelena to look at the file better.

Project Red Widow was a joint experiment between the red room and Hydra. Both sides had representative scientists and officials, the red room had Melina and Dreykov and Hydra had Novikoff and a man called Sidorov. Vienna was the only surviving viable subject. Half widow. Half super soldier.

The goal was to create the perfect weapon. They succeed but Vienna's mind proved difficult to control with the added effects of the inherited serum. With every attempt to keep her down, they broke her a little more.
