the sun began to rise
rays began to shine
my eyes fluttered awake
i'm beginning to feel
i'm ready to take
my emotions & carry them
with me
i'm finally alive
swimming in serenity
for once in a long while
& i now know
that the sun
may still rise & fall
in the end
but the sun won't set
the same way
if i were gone
through the eyes
of the ones that i love
