it's nights like these
that leave me with little
to no breath
they leave me without words to say
because my tongue is tangled
from the tears that lay
silence fills the room
like a light
it's times like these
i want someone in sight
i'm alone
but i'm wishing i had a hand to hold
a lap to lay on
someone not sold
by the smiles on my face
at the break of day
i'm here in bed
with tears that lace
my tongue in place
with no words
to say
