"She ditched me", at least thats what Scarlett, your friend and colleague, thinks. And in part shes right, you had promised her that you would have been there before the interview with David Letterman, and you didnt show up. But thats because you want to surprise her with a fancy dinner at your place after the show.
You have planned everything: what you would have eaten, you showing up at the studios right before the ending of the interview. So yes, this night is planned in every single detail.
But your friend is pissed or better shes sad and disappointed, and thats because the actress has a crush on you and her heart crushed when you didnt show up.
Scarlett, ignoring the pain, tries to enjoy the interview and its working. David always manages to make her feel at home, respecting her and showing his admiration for her works.
For you everything is going as planned too: you had cooked dinner and set up all the candles and flowers. It can seem a little bit too much for a dinner between friends, but the truth is that you have romantic feelings for Scarlett, strong romantic feelings. But you are more than conscious that she would have never reciprocated your feelings, thats why youre more than happy to be her friend.
The show is almost over and you are already backstage chatting with a lighting technician, while Scarlett is still on stage laughing at one of David's jokes. But that gorgeous smile fade when he asks her the last question:-Scarlett, lately on internet Ive found many pictures of you and one of your castmate.- A picture of you and Scarly appear on the screen behind them .- And you know fans have been asking themselves if theres something going on between the two of you.- He go on winking at Scarlett, that lower her head, chuckling and blushing.
-Dave Dave.. Dave, you know- Scarlett tries to gain time. -Are you blushing?- he question her making her blush even more.- Ladies and gentlemens Miss Johansson is BLUSHING!-
-Oh behave!- Scarlett chuckles and playfully slaps David arm.
Theres a minute of silence in which you, uncomfortable, sit on a chair ready to hear Scarlett talk about how good your friendship is and to feel your heart shutter like everytime she calls you friend.
-You know Dave- THe actress says shrugging.- (Y/N/N) is an amazing friend and the kindest human being on the whole planet. Shes always there when I need her, she always make me laugh with her stupid joks and- Scarlett lower her head again cause shes blushing like crazy.
Youre watching the interview on a little laptop and at those words you start hoping that maybe youre more than a simple friend for her, maybe a possible lover. But you shake away that thoughts cause you dont want to get hurt.
-And yeah, I care about her a lot, even if sometimes she ditch me.- The star look straight into the camera.- You know what Im talking about, and youll pay for it!-. -So I got that you two are friends but you wish there was something more?- David teases her.
Scarlett is nervous and she starts playing with her fingers while her look keeps wandering around the stage without making eye contact with anyone or anything.
You sit up on your chair with your heart beating like crazy waiting for her answer.
-Im gonna regret this Dave and itll be your fault.- She mumble pointing at the man on her left- Im in love with her.- Scarlett state.
-DOes she know?- David ask excited.-Well she knows now.- The star answer. -And I guess I have to wait till later to find out if she loves me too.-
Scarlett's confession hit you like a bucket of cold water. You cant believe it, she loves you! Your mind starts racing showing you images of you two together at dinner, on the beach, on the day of your wedding and so on. But when Scarly says that she doesnt know if you love her back, without thinking you shout:- I LOVE YOU TOO!-
Everyone in the room starts screaming and clapping their hands while David hugs a very shocked Scarlett who is too focus on understanding where did your voice came from.
You decide to walk on the stage where youre greeted by Scarlett that literally jumps on you. You catch her and she locks her legs around your hip and places her forehead on yours, so your lips are just a few inches apart.
-Girlfriend?- you ask her. She answers you conneting your lips in a loving kiss. And in that moment you forget everything: the crowd around you, the dinner, even your name. All things slip out of your mind and you focus on Scarletts sweet and soft lips moving in sync with yours.
You two interrupt the kiss to breath, but her eyes never leave yours. -You owe me a date (Y/L/N)- Scarlett says.-Gladly- you answer kissing the top of her nose.
