Chapter 38

Scott wakes up when he hears Aurora screaming. He pulls on his shirt.
"No! Scott! Stop please! No! Scott!"
Scott runs into her room and sits on the bed beside her. He gently shakes her.
"Baby, I'm here. Wake up."
"Stop! No! Scott!" She is screaming, shaking and moving around.
"Baby, wake up. I'm here."
"Scott! No! Scott! Stop! Stop! No!"
"Baby." Scott leans close to her and kisses her cheek them her lips. "I'm here."
Aurora opens her eyes and looks at Scott.
"Scott! Oh Scott!"
She throws her arms around him and buries her head in his chest.
"Oh Scott. He...he was stabbing you. He wouldn't stop. He kept saying I was his girl and..." she cries.
"Shh. It's okay.  It was a dream. I'm here. You're safe." He says stroking her head.
"Try to go back to sleep."
"No! I will dream again. He..."
"I'm right here."
"You mean your staying?"
"Yes. Slide over a little."
Aurora slides over and Scott climbs under the covers. Aurora snuggles up close to him.
"Is this a good idea?"
"We are just sleeping and you let Chris sleep next to you. Why can't I?"
Aurora didn't know what to say. She knew Scott was a little jealous, but wouldn't admit it.
"Scott, I love you. Thank you."
"I love you too and your welcome. Now go to sleep." He kisses her head.
Aurora closes her eyes and is soon asleep. They both sleep soundly. Aurora wakes up the next morning, Scott is still asleep. He is snoring, she smiles and climbs out of bed. She heads into the kitchen and fixes coffee and starts making pancakes. She has just finished the first three with Scott walks in. He wraps his arms around her.
"Good morning baby."
"Morning."
"Smells good. I could get use to this."
Aurora leans her head back and kisses him.
"Grab you a plate, and I have your gross black coffee on the island."
Scott laughs. He grabs a plate and sits down at the island.
"So, you had no dreams after I stayed last night?"
"Nope."
"Maybe we should do that every night."
"Do what?"
"Sleep together."
"Scott Clinton Reeves Eastwood!"
Scott laughs, "Woh, I didn't mean it like that. I only meant to sleep so you won't have any dreams."
"Oh, I..."
Before Aurora can finish her phone rings. She looks down and sees it is her dad.
"It's my dad."
"Answer it."
Aurora picks it up. "Hey daddy."
"Hey Princess. I haven't hear from you in a while. How are you?"
"I'm okay."
"Are things any better? Are you still having nightmares?"
"Yes. I am still having them. They have gotten a little worse."
"Worse? Really?"
"Yes. Scott got stabbed. The man broke into his house and stabbed him."
"Oh my goodness. Is he okay? Are you okay?"
"Yes we are both fine. I... I am actually with him right now."
"Oh you are?"
"Yes."
"This early in the morning?"
"Uh...yeah. I...we..."
Scott is watching her.
"Can I talk to him?"
"Daddy."
"Come on Princess, let me talk to him."
"Alright. I'll put you in speaker."
Aurora hits the speaker button and sets the phone on the island."
"Okay daddy your on speaker."
"Hey Scott. I'm sorry about what happened."
"Thanks. It was scary, but I'm glad Aurora is safe."
"Me too. So this man is he behind bars?"
"No. The police are looking for him. He escaped, but I have changed all my locks and have a security system so he won't break in again."
"That's good. What about Aurora's apartment? Will he go there? Does she have security there?"
Scott looks at Aurora.
"Well sir, she..."
Aurora smacks Scott's arm and shakes her head.
"Please call me Jeremy."
Scott mouths to Aurora.
"You need to tell him."
"No."
"Baby, you need to tell him."
"No, he will kill me."
"No he won't. Tell him."
"Scott, Aurora are you still there?"
"Yes sorry daddy."
"You didn't answer my question. Is she safe at her apartment?"
"Daddy, I'm...I am..."
"What is it Princess?"
Scott takes her hand and gently squeezes it and nods his head.
"I'm staying with Scott."
Her father was quiet a minute.
"Did I hear you say you are staying with Scott?"
"Yes. It's just until they catch the man. He didn't want me alone. Willow isn't there a lot because of her crazy hours and I am not working at the bar right now."
"Princess you know how your mother and I feel about living together when your not married."
"I know but it's only till they find the man. I have my own room. Scott would never do anything. He knows how I feel about it."
"Jeremy, you have my word. I am being a gentleman. I am just trying to keep her safe. I worry about her. I don't want her alone with that man still around and with her still having nightmares...I don't think it's a good idea she is alone."
"Scott, I appreciate you trying to keep her safe. That means a lot. I can tell how much you care about her, but what about when you have a movie? I know you can't be there all the time."
"Well, I am taking some time off right now since I got hurt, but after that she will either go with me or I will find someone who can be with her when I can't. You have my word nothing will happen and I won't let anything happen to her."
"Thanks Scott. Princess, I understand and I'm not mad at you. I know Scott is just looking out for you. I am okay with it, but you know how your mother is going to react."
"I know, but daddy I am so afraid to be alone right now! I..."
"Princess, it's okay. Calm down. I will talk to your mother."
"Thank you daddy."
"I love you Princess."
"I love you too."
"Scott it's been great talking to you. Take care of my girl. Let me know if you ever need anything."
"I will thanks. I will take good care of her promise," Scott says hugging Aurora.
"Bye princess. Call me soon."
"I will daddy. Bye."
Aurora ended the call.
"I like your dad. Glad I got to talk to him."
Aurora smiles. "I am going to get a shower."
"Okay baby. I will clean up."
Aurora kisses him then leaves. She gets her shower then after she is dressed she brushes her hair. She doesn't dry it. She walks back into the kitchen. Scott is sitting at the island playing on his phone. Aurora goes up behind him and wraps her arms around him and leans in and kisses his cheek.
"Hey baby," he says turning around and wrapping his arms around her.
"What are we going to do today?" Aurora asks.
"Whatever you want."
"Oh really? Anything I can want?"
Scott raises an eye brow. "Yeah. What are you thinking?"
Aurora smiles. "Nothing."
"Bill shit. Tell me."
"Honest nothing. I just..."
Scott looks at her
"We could watch another fast and furious movie." Aurora says
"Sure. We only watched the first two and there are 8 of them. They are working on the 9th one."
"Which one are you in?"
"8."
"Are you in the next one?"
"No. Only 8."
"Oh okay."
"Is that what you want to do?"
"Sure. If you want to."
"We can. Let me go get cleaned up. You can go ahead and get it ready. The movie is in the cabinet there," Scott says pointing to the cabinet below the tv.
"Alright."
Scott gives her a quick kiss then leaves the room. Aurora finds the movie and puts it in while Scott gets cleaned up. A few minutes later he walks into the living room wearing grey Sweat pants and a blue T-shirt. He sits down next to Aurora just as there is a knock on the door.
"Who is that? Are you expecting anyone?" Aurora asks.
"No."
Scott gets up.
"Scott wait!"
Scott stops.
"What's wrong?"
"The last time we didn't know who was at the door it was that man."
"Baby, don't worry. It will be okay."
Scott looks out of the peep hole.
"It's my dad."
"You're dad!"
Scott opens the door.
"Hey dad. Come in," Scott says holding the door open. Clint steps in
"Hey son. How are you? I was coming to check on you."
"I'm okay. Healing."
Clint looks over at Aurora who is still Sitting on the couch. He walks toward the couch.
"You must be Aurora."
"Uh... yes."
"I've heard so much about you."
Aurora smiles.
"You're all Scott talks about."
"Dad!"
Clint laughs. "Well you kids have fun. I just wanted to stop by and see how you were. I'll see you later," he pats Scott on the back.
"Later son."
"Bye dad."
Clint leaves and Scott sits back down next to Aurora.
"Well you've met my dad now. That wasn't so bad was it?"
Aurora glares at him. "I didn't know what to say. I was so nervous."
"I know. It's okay, but he was nice like I told you he would be."
"He still scares me."
Scott laughs. "It will be okay baby." He kisses her.
"So you've talked about me to him a lot?"
Scott smiles "a little."
"A little? He made it sound like it was a lot."
"Let's just start the movie," Scott says Picking up the controller and hitting play.
Aurora snuggles up next to him. He wraps his arm around her. After the movie is over Scott looks down at Aurora who now has her head in his lap. He runs his fingers through her hair.
"Do you want to watch another one?"
"Sure."
"Well you're going to have to move so I can put it in."
"But I'm comfortable."
Scott smiles "well, I can't put it in if you don't get up and neither can you."
Aurora sighs and gets up.
"I'll do it. It is under the tv right?"
"Yep."
After Putting the movie end and starting it Aurora goes back to the couch. She resumed her position of laying on Scott's lap. Scott smiles and strokes her cheek.
"I love you Aurora."
"I love you too."
They spend the day watching the movies. They skipped lunch and we're now on number six when Scott sees what time it is."
"Baby?"
"Yeah?"
"Are you hungry? We missed lunch and it's 7:00 now."
"Yes I'm starving."
"How about we order a pizza?"
"Sounds good."
"What would you like?"
"Ham and pineapple?"
"Alright."
Scott picks up his phone from the coffee table and calls it in. They start the sixth movie and 10 minutes in there is a knock on the door.
"That's the pizza."
"I'll get it," Aurora says
"Baby, my wallet is on my dresser."
"Alright."
Aurora grabs Scott's wallet and pays the man for the pizza. She sets the wallet on the island and carries the pizza in the living room and sets it on the coffee table.
"What would you like to drink?" Aurora asks.
"A beer."
Aurora looks at him.
"Baby, please. I haven't had one all day," he says giving her the puppy dog face.
"Fine."
After getting her some water and grabbing his beer she goes back to the living room. She hands him the beer as she sits down next to him.
"Thanks baby."
"I'm afraid to ask how many of those you normally drink."
Scott grins then takes a sip. "I never get drunk. So don't worry. I actually haven't been drunk in a long time. Maybe a little tipsy, but not drunk."
"Well that makes me feel a little better."
Scott leans in and kisses her. He starts the movie back and they eat their pizza. After the movie is over Scott looks over at Aurora who has her head on his chest.
"Baby, you awake?"
"Yes."
"Another one? We have two more."
"Can we finish them tonight?"
"Probably."
"Go ahead."
Scott puts in number seven. He sits back down next to her. They watch the next two movies. By the time number eight is done Scott looks down at Aurora. She is asleep in his lap, he smiles. He carefully picks her up and carries her to his bed. He lays her down. He cleans up the pizza and puts the leftovers in the fridge then heads to his bedroom. He takes off shirt and changes changes into some PJ pants and climbs in bed next to Aurora and wraps his arms around her and kisses her head. "Goodnight baby, I love you," he whispers.
