In this world, 80% of the population has a Quirk - an ability that they were born with.
Quirks are passed down by the parents, but vary. People can have similar Quirks, but be less or more powerful, or do only one thing while someone can do multiple things with a similar Quirk.
Only 10% of people with Quirks are Pro-Heroes. Being a Hero is not an easy task - it involves hard work, keeping up an appearance, saving lives, and winning. The more powerful a Quirk, the more of a chance you have at becoming a hero.
There are schools that train future heroes. UA High School being the cream of the crop. Only a small percentage of people get in through the entrance exam. But, the best of the best of students applying can get recommended in. Only 1% of the students accepted are recommendation students.
And now is where I say hello.
I'm Mira Kazama, a 16- soon to be 17- year old girl. I am American-Japanese, although I grew up mainly in Japan. I have 2 Quirks - which is rare - that are powerful, allowing me to get into UA on recommendation. My first Quirk is Air Manipulation - allowing me to do anything I want with air. Sure, some people have Air Quirks- but none as powerful as mine- with one exception. My second Quirk is... Blood. But, I suppose that isn't all.
I am a rich girl. My parents were owners of a multi-million company in Japan and America. My grandmother was a billionaire when she retired and passed the company to my parents.
Then, my grandmother was killed.
My cousin now owns the company, her parents not here anymore. And I got the money.
And then my special trauma. I guess you might say trauma is an important part of how I express myself.
Because I couldn't make any expressions. My face has been stuck in a cold expression since the death of my parents, 9 years ago. Then, once I became able to make a sneer, my grandma died. And came back the all too familiar facial freezing. I guess seeing everyone you love die really does something to your brain.
I went to therapy for most of my life, but that proved to be the downfall of my mental state. I guess the only good thing is that I'm rich and got into UA, right?
