The next day Amy wakes up in the infirmary, again.. This time she's got an IV in her hand, providing her with special medication. She's still feeling very sore and painful. She grunts whilst sitting up.
"You shouldn't do that, you little brat!" Amy is instantly terrified by the voice that spoke to her.
"I did not cure you 4 years ago just so you can go out on a rampage and return with magic deficiency!" Amy turns her head slowly and sees Porlyusica, looking down on her, angry like never before. Amy is frozen in fear, yet she lays down as quick as she can to satisfy Porlyusica.
"Y-yes ma'am" Amy answers frightened.
"Makarov told me all about your last job.. Stupid girl, underweight, poor eating and unaware that you were already drained of magic.. You could have passed out there with no-one to find you.. Meaning you could have died!" Amy looks away from Porlyusica.
'She's right, I am a stupid girl...' A tear rolls down her cheek..
"Now, get some rest, you fool. Wendy will attend your injuries again soon. But you better stay in bed this time!" Porlyusica explains before leaving the infirmary..

While Amy is busy trying to process the confrontation, Gajeel wakes up as well. He saw everything yesterday but could not help one bit. But there is one thing he's secretly glad about.. After passing out she was placed in the nearest bed, being a bed in the same room as Gajeel. He can now see her as she is right next to him.
"Amy.." He whispers as quietly as he could. She hasn't even noticed yet that they are now in the same room. He saw how Porlyusica was attending to her yesterday, he grins. Gajeel knows now that Porlyusica can be deadly terrifying to anyone she attends to, but it seems like her heart is in the right place.

A few hours have passed and Amy had fallen asleep quite soon after she was commanded to lay down. Wendy already did another healing session on her. As soon as she wakes up, they'll know if Wendy's magic did any good for her, but rest comes first.
Gajeel just lays there, looking at her.. After a few very rough months, he never even noticed how thin and beaten up she was. She really gave her last energy whilst aiding Gajeel.

He sits on the edge of his bed. He definitely blames himself now. If only he had taken a team with him, or never even took this job.. Would she have been better off?
"Why did you come for me.." He whispers. With his head bend over and is hands folded, he tries to keep his emotions under control.
"Because I care.." A voice answered. He looks up and sees Amy grinning sweetly.
"You're part of Fairy Tail now.. We care for each other." This might be the first thing she said to him without stuttering. At least, while they're not in danger..
"Amy, I-I.." This time Gajeel can seem to make up his words.
"Shhh. It's okay." Amy shushes him.
"I drew you, because I think you're special.."
"Wait, what?" Gajeel asks. It seems as if Amy is mixing things up because of the painkillers. But her next answer hits him right in the feelings.
"You're special.. You caught my eye and I can't get you out of my mind.. Hihi." Amy's respond definitely confirms that she had lost control.
"I think.. I think I like you.."

Amy dozed off right after that, leaving Gajeel restless. Grinning from ear to ear but also feeling extremely nervous..
'Should I tell her what she said? Is she even aware of what she said?' Different scenarios flash through his mind.. He sure hopes things won't become awkward or embarrassing for the both of them.

But, there is one thing he does know for sure.. From now on, they are definitely no longer strangers.
