"This is so hard!" I groan to Nicky after school.

"What is?" He asks, taking my hand.

"Keeping secrets!" I exclaim. "Dawn is going to notice at some point."

"But for now..." he trails off, leading me upstairs.

"Nicky..." I follow him.

"I know she's your best friend," Nicky smiles. "I don't want to get between you two."

"Okay, but what's are we going to do about this problem?" I ask, flopping onto his bed. He leans over, kissing my cheek.

"I don't know, y/n. Let's just enjoy the time we have now, before Dawn busts us. Okay?" Nicky smiles, his dimples lighting up.

"Okay." I melt into his arms.

"How's school going, by the way?" He asks me.

"Really?"

"Really, what?"

"You're asking about school!"

"Right, sorry."

....

"Hey, I hardly ever see you anymore, what's been going on?" Dawn asks me after class.

"I've been busy doing stuff!" I grin widely, thinking of Nicky.

"Doing what?" Dawn questions.

"Uh. You know. Sports." I bite my lip.

"Sports?" Dawn asks.

"Yeah."

"Oh. Well okay then." She shrugs.

"You wanna hang out today?" I ask.

"Like a sleepover?" Dawn leans over.

"Sure!"

"I can come over to your house, it seems like I haven't been there in a while!" Dawn suggests.

"I don't know. My mom is really busy with work at home. She needs to catch up on some important files." Dawn raises her eyebrows.

"Well, you can come to my house," Dawn offers.

"That sounds great!"

"Wait." She says.

"What?"

"What about Nicky?" Dawn frowns.

"What about Nicky?" I shoot her a confused look.

"You don't like being around him, remember?"

"Oh yeah. Maybe it's not such a great idea tonight after all." I sigh, remembering how I promised to hang out with Nicky that night.

"How about tomorrow?"

"Tomorrow sounds perfect." Dawn nods.

Dicky's POV

I sit at the kitchen table with a bowl of chocolate ice cream, ready to eat the whole thing. Then I hear a loud bump. Something from upstairs. And whispering. Loud whisper shouting. And another bump. Then a crash. I shrug and dig my spoon in.

"Did you hear that?" Ricky comes into the room in his pajamas.

"What?" I pretend not to hear, looking around the house.

"That sound." He looks up at the ceiling.

"It sounded like it came from Nicky's room." Ricky gasps.
