We played a packed out show that night and we were all feeling on top of the world. After a few beers backstage I felt like I wanted to go out and speak to the two dozen or so fans that had been waiting for us to come out. It was always nice to go and speak to them. We'd often receive presents and talk to people who'd travelled miles to see us. Such an odd feeling, even after a couple of years, that people paid money to come and see us. And if the single sales were any kind of indicator, it was only going to get better. There had been talk of going over to America the next year and we'd already booked shows across Europe.

I persuaded Lily to let us out. She seemed a little unsure.

'Its fine, there's not many.' I saw her peer through the door and she shot me a high browed look.

'Ten minutes.' Woody backed me up.

'Ten minutes.' She said sternly. 'Straight to the bus. We need to travel to Scotland tonight.'
