Chapter 44

A FEW WEEKS LATER

Zak's POV

I walk up behind Mal and catch the bead of sweat that's rolling down her neck she leans back against me and I put my hands on her waist then gently turn her around to look at me. She was pale and sweating which could be from the hot day here in Vegas I rub her cheek then kiss her head "if this baby shower is too much for you we can cancel it and do this some other time" she shakes her head slowly and looks up at me "our moms put in a lot of effort plus guests are starting to show up it's only for a few hours so I can handle this" I nod slowly I wasn't sure about doing this up until now she had been glowing and full of energy over the last few weeks there had been a change she almost looked sick I just hoped it wasn't a bad sign since we were close to the due date.

Nancy's POV

I walk up next to Zak while he gets some punch "how are they doing?" he looks at me "I think she's pushing herself to hard today she's pale and sweating, Salem is good Dr. McHale said she was ready to go she's head down and at two centimeters." I nod slowly. It sounded like a good chance that my granddaughter might get here early "I know that you're worried and think that this might be too much on her but I'm sure Mal is right if she's only at two centimeters it could be days or another week before she goes into labor." He sighs then takes a deep breath before rubbing his face. "I'm scared what if something happens to them what if I'm a bad father and the baby hates me? Mal and I are going to get married who knows what the fans will say" I stop him and hug him "don't worry about them or anything else enjoy today with your friends and family."

Mallory's POV

I take a seat between Zak and our mothers when it's time to open gifts Nancy hands me a small bag first I read the tag and it's from Billy and his wife, I open it and pull out a romper that was lined with white lace I look at them and smile "its so cute thank you I love it." My mom hands me another bag and it's from Jay and Ashley. I open it and pull out a pair of small pink shoes and two more outfits, the next gift is from Aaron and he went with something funny he had gotten Salem a little pink unicorn and onesie with arrows that had you've gotten this daddy written on the front. A few minutes later my mom and dad roll out a black and pink stroller which were the perfect colors, Nancy's gift is next she had bought a onesie with daddy's girl written in pink and a pink rocking horse I'm surprised when I see Zak coming out of his gym with a gift he had bought her, her first car a motorized pink Mercedes Benz on top of everything else he had been buying since we found out we were having a baby.

Aaron's POV

I walk up next to Zakwhile Mal talks to his mom "ready for all the time off the next few months?" henods then looks at me while he pets Gracie and Ares "yeah Mal and I have talkedwith the channel and everything we decided that once Salem is born we willissue a statement saying that we are taking time off to adjust to having a babyand we will post pictures and keep everyone updated." I nod "how do you thinkthe fans will react?" he rubs his neck "hopefully they will be happy but if notthat's on them I'm going to be a husband and a father the need to accept it."He was right they couldn't expect him to stay single and not have a family thatwasn't fair to Zak but I was sure that most of our fans would be happy for him
