Just Like That!

Sarah walked into the bar that was near her house. It was her first time visiting that bar. She had heard great reviews about that place from some of her friends and even though they had been pestering her to go with them, Sarah never found herself interested enough to accompany them, especially after Cate's death. But that night, she decided to get dressed and get out of her house. And she was glad that she did. As Sarah entered the dimly-lit bar, the music was blasting through the large speakers. Sarah found herself walking directly towards the drinking counter as she knew that she needed liquid courage if she was going to forget about Cate and just let her hair down. After a few drinks in, Sarah began to scan the crowd. Everyone seemed to be enjoying, losing themselves into the music. Sarah's nose crunched up in disgust the way some people ground against each other but she was not the one to judge. In her college days, she remembered doing all kinds of things.

As she sat back in the chair, shoving another drink down her throat, her eyes caught something familiar. Rather, someone familiar. As the brunette placed the glass down on the counter and squinted her eyes to properly recognize the person who was dancing on the dance floor to the music, Sarah let out a surprised gaps when her eyes finally recognized who that person was. It was her best friend, Laura Prepon. For the first time in a very long time, a smile graced upon Sarah's lips as she looked, across the room, at her friend. Laura seemed to be enjoying herself, completely losing herself to the music as she swayed her hips, matching the rhythm of the music. Sarah always knew how great of a dancer Laura was but to actually get a chance to just sit back and watch her dance, was really something else. Sarah had enough drinks in her to just go up to her best friend and ground against Laura, but Sarah was not able to move. Her eyes were fixed on her best friend, following Laura's each and every move. Sarah knitted her brows closer in confusion as she felt something foreign in her stomach as she watched her gorgeous friend danced like nobody was watching. Laura looked so free, so wild. So beautiful.

Sarah shook her head, wanting to get rid of the thoughts she was having towards her best friend, and turned around in her chair to get another drink. When that drink was also chugged down, Sarah turned around to see her friend dance, but her eyes could not find Laura on the dance floor, not anymore. Did she catch me staring at her? Sarah panicked a little. Did she leave? She probably left! Sarah concluded. Deciding that Sarah had enough drinks, she stumbled her way into the washroom and splashed some water against her face. When she looked herself into the mirror, she confirmed that she was slightly drunk and that she could not risk driving home. But she was also not in a mood to walk home, it was freezing outside.

Sarah decided to sit back and relax into the VIP lounge of the bar until she was sober enough to drive. The moment she entered the lounge, her mouth fell open and she thought that her eyes were betraying her as they looked upon Laura, who sat with her eyes closed, her head rested against the couch, relaxing. Even though Sarah wasn't sure if she was ready to meet her friend yet, so soon after Cate's funeral, she felt a strong pull towards Laura. And hence, Sarah decided to go with her heart, as always. Sitting beside Laura, Sarah knew that the raven-haired sensed a presence beside her but Laura still didn't pry opened her eyes. Sarah didn't bother for some time as well. But with a few moments passed, Sarah found herself getting restless as she craved to hear Laura's voice.

"Hey." Sarah said and she almost chuckled when she saw the surprised look that adorned Laura's face. Laura stared at Sarah for a while and it also gave Sarah a chance to stare back, to observe how beautiful her friend was.
