Missed Me?

Sarah Paulson was scrolling through her Instagram feed, waiting for her face mask to complete it's magic. She was looking through her feed when her eyes glanced across a video that Ellen's page uploaded: it was a photo of Ellen surprising her wife with a beautiful bouquet of flowers and the video ended when Ellen brought her wife closer, giving a lingering kiss on Portia's forehead. Looking at such a blissful couple, Sarah's heart was filled with warmth and love. She really wished she had someone she could share such a love and commitment with. She had really thought that she had found her true love when she was with Cherry Jones, but that relationship didn't work out. It wasn't that Cherry wasn't an affectionate girlfriend, in fact, it was Sarah who broke it off realizing that something was truly missing and she couldn't continue a charade with a wonderful woman as Cherry because it would only hurt her in the future.

A new post was uploaded and when she looked at the new post, she swore that her heart stopped. She was staring back at a picture of Lily Rabe with her partner, so happily in love. But that was not what got Sarah so shaken up; it was because she was looking at Lily's baby bump. It was a cute little bump, indeed, Sarah admitted that to herself, but that cute little bump didn't leave her at ease. Sarah and Lily were very close friends- they had started their careers together at the theatre. It was their love for theatre and art that brought them so close. After performing together on stage and staying in touch with each other for more than ten years, and also doing a show together (American Horror Story), they drifted apart.

But the time when they were friends, they were inseparable. They were alike in so many ways and yet different in all the right ways. When they were shooting for American Horror Story, their chemistry and friendship on and off set were so strong and adorable that fans began to ship them as a couple and why wouldn't they? Raulson was every fan's dream that unfortunately never came true. But what their fans never knew, but definitely dreamed about was the feelings Sarah had for Lily. True, Sarah loved Lily as her friend, but she also knew deep down that Lily has been always more than a friend. But with the fear of jeopardizing their friendship heavy in her heart, she never acted up on her feelings for Lily and never even hinted that she felt something more for her friend.

As Sarah's eyes roamed about Lily's smiling face, a tear rolled down her masked cheek. Sarah could see how happy Lily really was with her partner and even though, after five years of being estranged from her friend, her being with a man was like a knife twist in her heart, Sarah's fool heart was happy for Lily's happiness.
