As there were only two days left for Laura and Sarah to leave from Mauritius, everyone was busy with helping them pack. Even though Taylor and Lily were real supportive of letting their girlfriends go without them, they were a little sad as they won't be seeing their partners for a whole month. But the worst part was that they would not be together for Christmas and that really sucked, especially when the situations with C were already bad. But Taylor and Lily tried their bests to not show their sadness but Sarah and Laura were no fools; and moreover, they were feeling the blues about the whole thing as well. While they packed necessary items for their trip, they also discussed important things. Laura had left the responsibility of her home in Taylor and Lily's hands and even though everyone was still doubtful about Rachel, Laura had asked her to stay at her place. Rachel had observed that no matter what she had done to cause so much pain and suffering to her, Laura really was an angel. A very angry angel, but angel nevertheless.

As the evening rolled in and as they closed in to the next day, they found themselves sitting in the living room near the fireplace. As they sat scattered on the floor and on sofas, Laura began to discuss some very significant things with them. Taking a deep breath, Laura calmed her nerves before she looked at Rachel with narrow eyes.

"Rachel, I am going to say some things to you and I will do it as politely as I can because your sister is my best friend and I love her." Laura paused, her eyes boring into Rachel's. Sarah had forgotten the process of breathing. Rachel gave a small nod towards Laura.

"It's very difficult for us to trust you, given everything that has happened to us." Rachel gave a comprehensive nod. "And even though it is difficult for us to believe you that you tried to protect us while you were working with C, you revealed yourself to us at that funeral and you reached out to us. And knowing that you're running from C and that you're not safe, I can't let you just throw you to the wolves. So," Laura paused again. Everyone was looking at Laura in awe. "I promise you that as long as you're with me, with us, I will not let anything happen to you. Keep in mind, I am not doing this for you. I am doing this for your sister. We have all seen Sarah when she thought that you were dead and if I ever have to see her like that again, I will never forgive myself."

Sarah was in tears by now but she was not alone. Lily and Taylor looked at Laura as if they had just seen Jesus come to life right in front of them. "So, you're welcome to stay here, Rachel. But in return of all the joyride you put us through, I would like to ask a favor from you." Everyone was so shocked at the way Laura addressed to Rachel, including Rachel herself. Even though Laura had started her speech by saying that she would try to be polite to Rachel, no one really thought that Laura would be able to keep her anger in check, so very well.

As Rachel gave another nod to Laura, her eyes filled with tears, Laura spoke up again. "While Sarah and I are gone, I would want you to be there for Tay and Lil. They are my best friends and my everything, nothing should happen to them. I know that it's going to be risky for you, but keep them safe as much as you can. And Rachel. . .?" Rachel's eyes perked up with more alert than it already was. "I want you to be safe as well, okay?" Laura's right hand went to the back of her neck as she ducked her head down, a sheepish smile appearing on her face.

"I know that it's difficult for all of you to trust me, but I will do everything in my power to keep them safe. I give you my word, Laura." Rachel's eyes were sincere, her voice serious and the raven-haired knew that she was right to put her faith in her, no matter how tough it really was.

Then they went on to discuss about Laura's home security system. Both Taylor and Lily were given the passwords to the secret room and since Rachel had already sneak a look at it when Sarah was punching it, she knew it too. One thing was cleared from the secret from before Laura and Sarah left for their trip was a box of grenades; and everyone was so relieved for that. Detective Katherine Bells had apologized that she could not take away the other things because she herself was taking the box to her house because she had not told anyone in the precinct about C and it's dark and horrible crimes but she promised them that the other things in Laura's possession were safe and legal; after all a detective was on their side now. Even though Rachel was given the task to protect Lily and Taylor, everyone decided that Rachel could not be seen outside and so, she was going to be house arrest. Rachel would have protested and thrown tantrums, but first, she was in no position to throw tantrums at them and second, Laura's house was the best. She would not mind to stay in her house as her personal cocoon for years. Better be house arrest than be dead, Rachel restrained herself from thinking out that joke.
