Eleanor was sitting on her bed, staring off to space.

She lay on her bed, frozen and stuck inside her dark thoughts.

Eleanor finally managed to stand up and grab the papers.

It's for the best.

So she signed it.

Because what's even the point of trying anymore?

It's already obvious that Andrew wants nothing to do with Eleanor.

The two have changed.

They were once the it couple of College and High School, now one hates the other.

Andrew and Eleanor's marriage is the exact embodiment of what a failed marriage looks like.

It was time they finally broke up.

Eleanor woke up from her short nap from the couch.

She was currently living in Olivia's apartment, after moving away from what was once her home.

Today was the day she and Andrew were going to finalise their divorce.

Eleanor was just recently released from the hospital and being put into therapy to help her.

She yawned and checked her phone for the time

It was 11 am in the morning.

She quickly got up and left to get ready.

A few minutes later, Eleanor got out of the warm shower.

She looked at herself in the mirror and frowned.

Eleanor accepted that she's changed.

Her eyebags were very obvious.

Her hazel brown eyes looked tired and dull.

She rarely smiled these days and her brown hair was just getting frizzier and frizzier each day.

Eleanor sighed and left the bathroom.

She dressed up and headed downstairs, meeting Olivia.

Eleanor smiled faintly at her.

The two girls then, walked to Olivia's car where they drove to court.

Soon enough,

Eleanor was no longer Mrs Cunnings.

"Where do I go, Liv?" Eleanor cried.

"I have no one but you and soon enough I'll lose you too."

Olivia sadly smiled at her best friend.

"I'm a dumb 23 year old that wasted her life away, how am I gonna get hired from jobs if I have no experience, I was a useless housewife!"

"Don't think like that El. You can sing, write, paint, Hell! You can even dance!"

Eleanor stiffened at the mention of dance but quickly hid it.

Olivia smiled softly.

She wanted to stay here with her, but she was just traveling every day.

"You'll Be fine El," Olivia assured her.

"Where's the fierce woman I first met?"

Eleanor smiled at her.

But deep down, she knew that, that girl was gone.

So she sighed and hugged Olivia.

She lay in her small bed.

Staring at the blank ceiling.

Alone with her thoughts.

She wanted to be that girl again.

The one that didn't need a man.

The one who stood up to anyone who dared to make fun of her.

And the one who was independent.

The next morning, Eleanor yawned tiredly.

Her lack of sleep finally caught up to her.

She didn't want to leave the house as her divorce was the latest gossip.

So instead, she stayed home, reading stories about happy endings and perfect romances.

Eleanor used to believe they were real.

Until she got a slap from reality.

Which changed her completely.
