Anastacia's POV

My phone ringing woke me up.

"Don't answer it." Matt mumbled.

I looked at him, he had one eye open looking at me.

"But mom." I said leaning over and answering it.

"Ana, we need to talk." It was Jake.

I didn't say anything.

"I'm taking you out for dinner tonight, wear something nice, I'll pick you up at 7."

"Well I'm busy." I told him.

"No your not," he replied "See you then." and he hung up.

I put my phone back and layed down.

"Who was it?" Matt asked.

"Jake." I told him "He wants to talk."

Matt stayed silent, I know he hated Jake.

I didn't even want to go out with him, as far as I was concerned we were over, he didn't even ask about my mother.

I rolled over and looked at Matt. He had one arm behind his head and his other hand on his chest, staring at the ceiling.

"Maybe you should talk to him." he said.

I closed my eye's, yes, I should talk to him, who was I kidding anyway, thinking that Matt,  who had been my best friend for years, would have any interest in me anyway.

Oh god what was I even thinking to begin with.

"We gonna go see your mom?" Matt asked sitting up.

I nodded "Thanks Matt, and I really am sorry about last night."

I leaned over and hugged him and closed my eyes,  it felt so nice.

"Stop apologizing," he said hugging me back "it was my fault too."

I wanted to stay there, like that, but I guess we couldn't.

At least I still had him as my friend.
