"Come on let me just slide down one time." I pleaded. "Britni get your overgrown ass off of that slide set." Don told me, a small smirk playing on his face. We were at a nearby park and I wanted to have a go on everything and live my childhood for a few minutes. "No! Let me be great and go down then." "Go ahead." I sat down at the top and went down the slide. "You have to catch me, pretend I'm your little baby." I said before sliding down. "Alright, you went down let's go." Don said as he started walking off. "I didn't swing yet." I stood there watching his back, waiting for him to turn around but he didn't. Looking at the swings and then back at Don's figure that was slowly fading away, I decided to have a go.

Pushing off, moving my legs back and forth I started swinging going higher and higher. I forgot how to stop and I began having a freakout. "Jump off." Don called out. "No, I might hurt myself." "I'm going to catch you, count to three and jump." Okay. I can do it. He's going to catch me. I trust him to do that right? I thought as I jumped off the swing and into his arms. "Are you finished being a kid?" he questions, still holding me. Turning my head I took notice of the see-saw. A wide grin bearing all my teeth I faced Don who had a blank facial expression. Nodding my head up and down as he shook his. "No, I'm not getting my tall ass on that see-saw. Forget you even saw it." "I'm tall too. Come on." "No. We're too old to even be here, looking like Chester and Lester the Molesters." "We are getting on." I insisted dragging him over.

"I'm sorry baby. I didn't mean to make you fall." Don apologized for the hundredth time. I ignored him adjusting my body on the ice pack I was sitting on. He just had to be an ass and cherry bomb me on the see-saw, causing me to hit the hard ass ground. "Come on, what can I do to make it up to you?" "Kiss my ass." I mumbled while trying to walk out the room. "Get off of me." I swatted his hands from my jeans. "I just wanna see your bruise and make sure it's okay." he whispered while pulling the zipper down. "It's the same size as your head so I say it's pretty damn-- owww. Why'd you smack me there?" I rubbed my ass before Don moved my hand and I felt his lips placing soft kisses there. "You told me to kiss your ass, right?" "I didn't mean it literally." I laughed. "Now move I still don't like you and I have to go."

"Go where? It's Friday, you need to be in the kitchen cooking." Slanting my eyes a bit, I glared at Don knowing he had something up his sleeve. "Why is that Mr. Smith?" His right arm lifted to scratch the back of his head. "I'm hungry?" he said making it come out more like a question. "Lie again." "Alright. I kinda told my Nana you were cooking a big dinner tomorrow." "So you just volunteer my services? You just... ooohh you get on my nerves sometimes. Telling me the night before. Bet you didn't even shop for food yet." I said as I stomped out the room. "B, I'm sorry, it slipped my mind." he spoke grabbing my hand. I looked up into his eyes. "It's cool. I don't even know why I got mad." I laughed. "You owe me big time though." "Whatever you want."

It was three in the morning and I was beyond tired. I had baked chicken, macaroni and cheese, greens, candied yams and made a roast and baked a pound cake. All I had left to do was fry chicken, cook rice, make gravy and do a potato salad. You would've thought I was preparing for Thanksgiving. Don actually went overboard because he had a taste for everything. "It smells good in here. I hope it tastes good because my Nana will talk about you." "Yeah, well if she doesn't like it then I'll tell Nana to keep her ass up until three in the morning and slave over the stove." I grumbled out while making my way up the steps. "Give me a shirt please." "Why can't you just sleep naked?" "Why can't you just sleep naked?" I mocked his voice.

I watched as he removed every article of clothing and climbed in the bed. "Your turn." he sang out. "I'm keeping my clothes on." "You are the biggest prude I know, just take your panties off then." Turning over to face him, I said "If you want sex, just say so. Don't try throwing nut ass clues at me." Moments later, I felt his finger playing with the band of my boyshorts. He just wasn't letting up. "B? I know you not sleep that fast." he mumbled while circling two fingers around my clit causing my juices to start flowing from that simple touch. "Yes I am." "You're not." he said, slowly inching my bottoms off. "Dammit Don," I stood up and pulled my shirt off and climbed back in bed. "You happy now? I'm naked like you wanted. We ain't fuckin' though, I need sleep. I have to wake back up in a few hours to finish cooking and you just won't let me do that. I swear you must love annoying me to no end at times." "What's the line you say now? Let me be great?" he asked completely ignoring my annoyed and tired state. I simply nodded my head. "Okay well let me be great and sex you to sleep. Spread those legs and let it happen baby."

"I can't stand yo sexy ass." I told him stepping out the shower, making my way into the bedroom. "Why not? You let me be great for a few go rounds." Looking his way I noticed a smirk on his face. "Wipe that stupid ass smirk off. I hate you because I got no sleep." I pouted. "You can sleep when you dead." Ignoring him, I finished putting lotion on my body and threw on a pair of his ball shorts and a tee. "Why you always wear my stuff?" "It's comfortable." I told him going downstairs. I got to work on the remaining food I had to cook and my nerves began to come over me. I couldn't sit still and I had nothing to do. Even though I was forced to quit smoking, I knew that was the only thing that could get me to relax. And I also knew Don had a cigarette on him because he had just walked in from outside and I could smell it.

"What's up?" he asked from inside the fridge. I wanted to ask but I didn't because I knew he would say no. "I'm nervous and I need a cig-" "Nope." he cut me off. "You can get some bud." "No Don, you know I get all funny and like to relax when I'm high, can't do that when company will be here soon. Just give me a Newport." I said holding my hand out. "I said no, I'm not giving you one. Now go on somewhere and try to relax and calm your nerves." "Why do you hate me?!" I yelled stomping up the steps. Yes I was having a mini temper tantrum but I didn't care. "What's your problem?" Don asked from the doorway. "I told you, I'm nervous." "Here Britni." he threw a cigarette at me. "I don't want it and don't throw things at me.." I said sitting it on the dresser. "But you just had a tantrum over it." "I said I don't want it. You don't want me to smoke anyway so I'll be fine...sitting over here relaxing." He shook his head before walking out while calling me childish. I just rolled my eyes and put on some leggings and an oversized button up shirt and left out the room.

"Open the door!" Don yelled from the game room. Did he think I was just going to let his family stand out in the cold until he did? "Always telling somebody what to do." I mumbled before opening the door. Seconds later, I was pulled into a hug and I was given no choice but to hug the person back. "Take a step back child and let me see you." the woman who I assumed to be his Nana said while taking my hand and eyeballing me. "You're prettier than he told me, need some more meat on these bones though." Was that an insult or? I mean I wear a 12, how much more meat was I to have? Before I could answer, I was pushed out of the way. "Nana!!!" Don yelled, picking her up and spinning her around before placing her on her feet. "Donnie!" she said just as happily. "B, this is Nana." He pointed out five other people, "Turquoise my favorite cousin with the ghetto ass name. Corey my other cousin, check your pockets after you look at him." I burst out laughing at that. "Aunt Pam, Uncle Jay and this guy right here is-." "Leek?" I questioned. "Hey Brit Brat." he said hugging me. "It's been forever!" The sound of someone clearing their throat interrupted our small reunion. "And you two know each other how?" Don asked, his eyebrow raised. I knew what he was thinking and it wasn't even like that. Maleek and I had nothing but friendship. We were neighbors in the student housing apartments in Atlanta and became friends. "We went to the same college, she helped me pass my photography class." "That's all it better had been." Don said, a little too much bass in his voice. "Well, Maleek is my god brother." I smiled a half smile. "Nice to meet you all."

"Child don't be like that, standing over there all shy and don't pay attention to my grandson with his territorial ass." Nana said pulling me into a yet another hug. "Donnie told me you were cooking a big meal. We rode four hours and I hope that food is ready." "Yes ma'am it is." "Oh don't call me ma'am. Makes me feel old, you can call me Nana." We entered the dining room where I had all the food spread on the table. After we all sat, Uncle Jay said grace and we dug in. "So Britni, what do you do? Did you go to college?" Aunt Pam asked. "I attended Art Institute Of Atlanta, majored in visual and performing arts. And now, I own and run a dance studio with my best friend." "Oh that's nice. Do you do private lessons or pole, cause I can learn a few things or two." She said wiggling her eyebrows up and down. "Come on mom, we don't want to think about you sliding down a pole." Corey said shivering in mock disgust. "Actually, I do." I said around a forkful of macaroni. "We need to set that up." I nodded agreeing that we could.

"Nana, guess what Britni said?" Don didn't give her time to ask what. "She said if you talked about her cooking that she was going to curse you out and tell you to go to Burger King because you can have it your way there. Isn't that right B?" Everyone at the table was now staring at me. Oh Adonis Smith was so dead. "Is that what you said?" Nana asked. Quickly I shook my head no. "I would never say that. Don't believe your grandson. He be lying." "You right about that." Corey and Turquoise said at the same time. "He always got us in trouble by lying on us when it was always him doing whatever we got in trouble for." "Like when?" Don asked. "Like always!" Turquoise yelled. "Shutup you hood booger." Don said bucking at her. They went on insulting each other until Nana put a stop to it. "Say another word and see if I don't find a damn switch around here! Now shutup and eat. A acting like y'all ain't got no damn sense. Ain't too old to get one of my beatings."

The rest of dinner was funny and I enjoyed myself especially every time Don got in trouble by either his aunt or Nana. I liked Corey and Turquoise. His uncle was a pretty quiet man, not much of a talker. And Maleek was just there and didn't count since we already knew one another but, they all were good people. "I brought some photos. Come sit by me Britni." Nana patted the open seat beside her. "Nana, no. Don't pull those pictures out, you always tryna embarrass a nig- I mean dude." Don quickly corrected himself. "Everyone has to go through it." I told him. "Besides, I wanna see how cute you were as a kid." "Girl, your eyes gon burn. He was ugly as a mug." Turquoise giggled while dodging the pillow that flew her way. "That's okay because he sexy as a mug now." "I know that's right. Tell her baby." Don laughed while biting my cheek. "Ew. Stop!"
