A Family Of My Own

**Sneak Peak**

"Noah? Noah? Hello? Noah!"

Glaring at the ceiling of my boyfriend's bedroom, I realised that somewhere during our discussion that Noah had fallen asleep. I had a tendency to ramble, but Noah was apparently exhausted and fell asleep during my constant talking!

I gave him a hard shove and he woke, startled.

"Huh?" he mumbled, looking dazed.

"Hello, sleeping beauty," I teased.

"I wasn't asleep," he frowned, then his face formed into a smug smile. "I was just... you know, resting my eyes?"

"Yeah, that's what you were doing," I chuckled.

"So do we get time alone tonight?" he asked, rubbing his eyes.

"No, I have to babysit the twins," I sighed. "Addy's got some soccer game... or was it hockey? I so don't even know what sports she plays anymore!"

"What about Emmy?" Noah asked.

"Little Em's got a sleepover," I laughed. "Zane and Ethan have a football game, and Lily... oh, Lil will be home."

"So we're not alone?"

"We aren't alone."

"Bec?"

"Yeah?"

He grinned at me and winked.

"Do you think your parents will let me stay over tonight?"

"Yes, they already said you could," I smiled, kissing his cheek. "Mom will be home early tonight, though. She pulled the early shift. And dad will be home around seven, as usual."

"Damn," he frowned. "No privacy."

"What is it with men and their hormones?" I asked.

"I don't have hormones," he winked.

"Right," I rolled my eyes.

I stood up and walked over to the mirror in the corner of his room. My bouncy blonde curls were a bit ruffled from laying down on the bed. I ran my fingers through them, playing with my hair for a few minutes. Noah walked up behind me and wrapped his arms around me.

"You look beautiful," he complimented, kissing the back of my neck.

"No, I'm ordinary," I said, smiling weakly.

"Becca, you are anything but ordinary," he grinned, and I turned to face him.

"How did I ever come to deserve you?" I asked him. "All my friends say I'm lucky to have a boyfriend who is also my best friend. They see us together forever."

"So do I," he smiled.

"I hope so," I grinned. "Because I love you."

Our lips met. The kiss was soft, petite. Like we kissed all the time. I smiled as our lips parted, and let him go. He took my hand and we walked downstairs and out into the back yard. His parents weren't home, and his sister was at my house with Addy. There was a tree swing in the back corner of the yard, and we wandered until we found it.
