Sorry for such a long wait... but I think this chapter makes up for it...? Sorry for the cliffhanger oops.

"You're being irrational," he tells me, running a hand through his hair.

"I am not," I reply, folding another shirt.

"Yes you are! Oh my God, all of this because of him!" Cameron yells, falling back on the bed.

I slam the folded shirt down on the bed.

"No, all of this because of you!" I scream at him.

He stands up immediately.

"I don't understand why you can't just get over him!"

"You know," I step closer to him, "if you really think it's that easy, I feel sorry for you. Because that means you've never been in love the way I am."

He rolls his eyes.

"You're seventeen."

"And you're nineteen, are we done stating irrelevant facts?" I question him, adding more clothes to my suitcase.

"So you're telling me that you're gonna quit Magcon just because I won't let you see him?" Cameron asks me.

"I'm quitting because it's too hard to see him! Why can't you understand that?"

"Because you're seventeen!"

"Is that the only argument you have?"

He narrows his eyes at me before grabbing my packed clothes and throwing them on the bed.

"What are-"

"You're not quitting singing because of a boy," he demands.

"Why? Because I get paid? I mean what else could there be, it's not like you care about my happiness."

"I do-"

"Don't you fucking dare say you care," I warn him.

He sighs in defeat, taking a seat back down on the bed.

"What do you want from me, Kat?" he asks softly.

I turn to him, making sure to meet his gaze.

"I want to be with the person I love, and I want my brother back," I tell him.

"I don't think I can do that," he says.

"Then I don't think I can stay," I tell him, repacking my things.

"Wait, wait, wait, what about a compromise?" he says.

"Talk."

"What if I let Hayes spend the week with us? If you promise not to quit?" he proposes.

"And Nash." I cross my arms.

"No way." He shakes his stubborn head.

"Well, guess I'm quitting then." I sigh.

"Are you serious?" he asks, and I shrug.

"As friends?" he asks me.

"Sure, let me prove to you we can be friends," I say, the word sour on my tongue.

He holds a protective glare, and I want to smack it off of him.

"Please," I beg, "I need some friends right now."

His eyes shift to the wall momentarily before meeting mine again.

"If I do this you can't quit. Ever," he tells me.
