Chapter 3- Flashing Back

OK first off, sorry for not posting a chapter yesterday; I'm going to make this a shorter chapter and hopefully post a longer one ASAP today. Sorry for the delay, Riri :P

We walk to the campsite we were first at and see if Aphmau can find anything we did not at first. I decide just to play with Puma, as I feel awkward an queezy around Laurance and Aphmau alone.

"I can't see anything else other than this footprint" says Aphmau, pointing to a footprint of shoes near the clearing Laurance and I saw before. I recognize it almost too well.

It is a royal O'khasis footprint, only worn by my family. It must be Zane's... I think, staring as if I am merely investigating it. I wait a while until I break the news, so both Aphmau and Laurance can collect their thoughts and remember the print.

"OH!" I say, as if it had just crossed my mind, even though it didn't. "It...is a royal O'khasis footprint. It was only worn by my father, brothers and I..." I stop mid sentence, about to cry. I all of a sudden feel depressed inside and out and then I remember. Vlyad is gone... In the Nether.

"Sorry" I say softly. "I just remembered about my other younger brother..." I say, letting go of a single tear. It drops into the flattened grass and mud. At first Aphmau looked shocked as Laurance and I have already talked about my brother. Laurance doesn't like talking about being a shadow knight, but when he did he mentioned Vlyad quite often.

~FLASHBACK~

I am sitting in Aphmau's guest bedroom, where Laurance lays as we small talk, as he cannot see anything, but listens and hears better than ever before.

"So" I say. "Do you care to talk about anything that has happened? I have been here talking about Levin, the new babies and all the wedding commotions. I want to here about everything, if you will allow me to do so."

"Well, there was pain, which I won't go into depth about." Laurance says, his burred eyes on the ceiling. "But I met some people, good and bad. Sasha and Zenix were there, though they never enjoyed communicating with me unless through my suffering. Sasha was less harsh but since I barely knew Zenix, he was almost the harshest." Laurance says. I do not dare interrupt, as I can tell just thinking about it makes him feel horrible.

"Gene was also pretty bad, and their was this girl named Glenda... but there were also people JUST LIKE ME. Vlyad and Vincent are still there and I wished I could of gotten them out." He says. Right after I stop in my trail of thoughts. Vlyad. But he is gone...

Laurance seems to be having yet another flashback as I interrupt. "Um" I asked about to choke up and burst into tears, "May I ask who those two men *small silence* look like? I may um, know them"

"Well, Vincent has jet black hair and permanent red eyes. He was also a guard and left the portal when ALL of this first started. He late on killed his master to become immortal. He got consumed and ended back up in the Nether. He snapped out of it now. Vlyad on the other hand is not immortal. He has brown hair and green eyes and wears a sca----" I start sobbing, very loudly that Laurance can hear well. The sound of pain, a sad yet happy pain.

"Vlyad was...or is, I don't know" I say mumbling in a mix of voices of this emotional roller coaster, as I know Laurance can hear well enough. "My...Brother" I say, blowing into my armor as I had my mask off. At least he cannot see me well enough...

"Garroth, I..." He says. I cut him off.

"It isn't your fault" I say clam, though I am still crying.

"I can sense you crying. I...didn't know." He says. "I did mention you a few times and when I said the good things, he smiled. I thought he just thought it was nice to hear good stories for once. If I knew I would have... I could have..." He says, as if he is about to join in my ocean of tears in my helm. "I'm, sorry."

We continued talked about Vlyad and got off topic until Aphmau came in later

~FLASHBACK ENDS~

I continue where I left off "OH! No m'lady, he isn't helping Zane" I say. "In fact, we both despise, or despised him" I say. It brings relief to Aphmau, but sadness along with that. 

"I-I'm sorry Garroth" Says Aphmau. I can't bear to see her sad...

"It is okay. He is, just in the nether." I say. 

"Becoming a Shadow Knight" says Laurance, finally talking as if he had flashback as well.

"Lets, just put that aside for now" I say. "Anyway, it is a royal O'khasis footprint. It must have come from my father or my brother."

"Well, lets follow the faint path" says Aphmau. "I have a feeling they escaped when they heard or saw Laurance coming".

We all head on the path, waiting to see anything ahead.
