Malfoy Manor, my feet burning as well. I wasn't planning for any of the events today to happen so I didn't exactly pick the best shoes to wear. As I stop in front of the door, I lift my hand and bring it down on the heavy wood three times. Only a few moments pass before Draco's mother opens it, a look of shock on her face when she sees me.

"Lenora, what in God's name are you doing out on your own at this hour? Why are you crying?" Narcissa Malfoy asks, so much motherly worry pouring into her words it makes my chest ache. I couldn't risk taking a cab to get here, so I walked. It may have taken three hours, but I did it. "Honey, come in. Warm yourself up."

I thank her through sniffles, stepping into the enormous mansion, only having been in here one other time; when I found out Draco was a death eater last year. The woman excuses herself and disappears into a room for a moment before coming back, a blanket draped over her arms. She unfolds it and drapes it over my shoulders, the soft texture of the cloth instantly beginning to warm me.

"Let's get you off your feet and you can tell me what happened, alright?" She whsipers. Seeing as my entire is shaking, she gently takes the trunks from my hands and sets them on the floor before leading me into the family room and sitting me on the couch. I swallow the lump in my throat. "Now tell me. What happened?"

"She's dead," I whisper, my voice barely above a whisper, cracking in the process. "My mother is dead."

The woman visibly tenses beside me, and I already dread telling her what happened. She doesn't let go of me as she speaks a little quiter. "Who killed her?"

I slowly turn and look at her, my eyes burning from how long I had been crying. And with all of the energy I can muster, I whisper, "I did."

Stars begin forming in my vision until the world spins and everything starts to go black.

"No! Please!" I beg and beg for my mother to put her wand down, to not do this. I'm her daughter for all things holy and she's going to kill me. "Please! Mom, don't do this! I'm begging you!"

"Lenora!" Someone grabs hold of me, and my immediate reaction it to get away, thrashing my body left and right. "Open your eyes. You're okay."

I recognize the voice, but I can't place who it belongs to. My eyes snap open, taking in my surroundings. I'm in an unfamiliar place with an unfamiliar voice speaking to me. My heart is racing in my chest. A pair of hands grabs my face, forcing my eyes to stop darting back and forth across the room. I stare into a pair of familiar steel gray eyes, finding security in them; Draco. My breathing doesn't slow as I swallow hard and muster up enough courage to speak.

"Where am I?" My voice is hoarse and comes out barely above a whisper.

The boy answers me softly. "You're in the spare bedroom at my house, you're alright... My mother told me what happened, Lenora."

His words send me into sobs, my entire body shaking as I lean into the boy's touch. He let's go of my face and wraps his arms around my, letting me cry on him. "I was so scared, Draco. I thought she was going to kill me, I panicked."

Draco shakes his head, never pulling away from the hug, his hand now gently rubbing my back in a comforting manner. "You don't have to justify yourself, Lenora. To me, least of all. I still love you all the same." He let's me go, pushing some of my hair out of my face before continuing. "Get some rest, alright? You can come down for food when you're feeling up to it."

I nod after a second, not wanting Draco to leave my side. But I need to get some sleep. Draco turns and grabs the silky covers, pulling them over me as I lay back. I sniffle and wipe my eyes before closing my eyes as Draco stands. He leans over my and presses a gentle kiss to my forehead, his touch making my skin tingle. A sigh passes through my lips before the feeling disappears and Draco leaves the room, allowing for me to get some much needed sleep.

I don't know how long I was asleep, but it was at least a few hours because when I open my eyes, the sun is completely set and the sound of loud voices echoes throughout the house. Yawning, I push the covers away and climb out of the very comfortable bed, making my way out of the guest bedroom. The voices become clearer the farther I go into the house. But it's only when I reach the foyer that the voices are clear enough for me to differentiate who is speaking; Lucius and Narcissa are arguing. I don't bother listening to what they have to say, only bits and pieces making it into my foggy mind.

"I think we have ourselves an eavesdropper." Before in able to react to the man's words, I'm being dragged out into the open by my arm, mind instantly clearing. My tongue presses to the roof of my mouth as Lucius let's me go and points his wand directly at me.

"Please, don't tell my father," I whisper, the lump already forming in my throat. God, I can only imagine how furious he is about my mother right now. I don't want to be on the receiving end of that.

"Why shouldn't I?"

The sound of footsteps fills my ears before a flash of white-blond hair. "Lenora..."

I scoff at the man, feeling bile rise to my throat as well. "Just do it. Go on, Malfoy, cast the spell; turn me in. I've got nothing left to lose. I've killed my mother and my father wants me dead. So do it."

Draco steps forward and tries to reason with the man before me, who's not relenting one bit. "Father, please--."

"Not now, Draco!" Lucius hisses, his eyes never leaving me. I slowly raise my arms in surrender, showing him I won't fight back, but before the man can do anything Draco's figure stands in front of me, blocking me from his father's line of sight.

"No! I won't let you destroy the one thing I care about. Voldemort wants her dead, and I'm not letting that happen. If you have a problem with that, then you're going to have to turn me in as a traitor, too."

Lucius' jaw tightens to a point that looks painful. The man may be a death eater, but he cares about his family. The question is; is he willing to overlook his loyalty to the Dark Lord to keep me safe? I highly doubt it, considering we've never gotten along. The only people he seems to actually like are Draco and his wife. Besides them, everyone else is second.

And much to my surprise, the man slowly lowers his wand, bit never loosening his grip on it as he speaks in a low, quiet tone. "Fine. But if I help you, you must help me in return."

"Anything," I blurt.

"I need you to make sure Harry Potter destroys Voldemort, do you understand," he says, making my eyes widen slightly with shock. Lucius Malfoy wants Potter to destroy Voldemort? Well, I didn't see that one coming.

"Oh, trust me. I will."
