My eyes opened as I lay still on the hospital bed. My body was still in pain and I looked around. I saw my children in their own little glass tanks and Alex was knocked out beside me.
I smiled as I slightly moved my body waiting for any sign of them waking up.
Time passed and soon enough I heard a cry. Alex immediately woke up and walked over to the glass half awake.
He picked up Aleksei and slightly rocked him back and forth trying to shush him. After a while, the cries became louder to the point that Alayah had woken up as well.
"Bring him here, I think I should feed him" I said quietly and Alex's eyes snapped to me.
"You're awake" He murmured in his morning voice, relief laced into it.
"Yeah, I've been for a while" I replied and he walked over to me placing him on my chest. Alayah was now also awake whining and fusing around in her glass crib.
Alex seeing her quickly went and stayed by her as he cooed and talked to her.
While I was taking care of Aleksei, Alex was too busy telling her a bedtime story. By then he was fully awake so he had no problem just talking.
It took a good fifteen minutes before she fell back asleep on her back.

Alex looked at her once more before softly kissing her cheek and then siting down to lean on the couch.
Aleksei had also fallen asleep in my arms. I quickly fixed myself and then let him sleep in that position.
After about five minutes, Alex stood up from the couch and walked towards me. When he saw me holding him he looked at us taking his phone and snapping a picture.
I glared at him to which he only gave me a smile and fell down dramatically next to me.
"Ugh that one is so dramatic. He kept crying every five seconds" He sighed causing me to chuckle.
"Why didn't you wake me up?" I asked and he gave me a look while carrying him out of my hand and placing him back in his glass crib.
