You awoke the next morning to a frantic knocking at the door. Jughead crawled out of bed, putting his beanie on his awry locks and moseying to the door. You got up and peered out from the bedroom, worried that it may be a ghoulie or two looking for revenge. You were surprised to see Cheryl and Toni hop through the door hand and hand.

"Sure, come right in." Jughead said sardonically as they were already taking a seat on the couch.

"Hey." Toni gave you a small wave noticing you in the doorframe of the bedroom.

"I tried texting and calling you. But I guess you were too busy canoodling to notice." Cheryl said, tossing her hair back. "I did a little reconnaissance in my father's quarters last night." She reached into her crimson handbag, handing over a small piece of paper to Jughead. You walked over and took a glance.

"I also found this notebook. It's filled with a bunch of gibberish as far as I am concerned, but maybe you can make sense of it." She offered you a small silver notebook. Quickly flipping through it you ascertained that it was a journal keeping track of an experiment Clifford had been overseeing. There were a lot of scientific terms and physics equations that you would have to look up to try to get an understanding, and even then you weren't sure you'd be able to make any sense of it. "Just do whatever you can to make sure my brother didn't die in vain." She hopped up. "Come TT, let us leave this... structure." She grimaced looking around the trailer.

"See ya." Toni imparted as they headed out.

Jughead turned his attention to you, and you felt self-conscious. You hadn't even looked in the mirror that morning. "Okay so do you think there is any chance this just is still valid?" He shook the small piece of paper.

"The lab passwords? Probably. Clifford's username and password? Very unlikely. Most likely deactivated along with his keycard after he died." Jughead looked discouraged. "I guess it's always possible though. Maybe they never figured someone would get their hands on the information and know what to do with it.

"Yeah, but would you really want to take that risk again?" I feel like we narrowly escaped being test subjects in some bloodcurdling experiment the last time. Putting in Clifford's info might trigger the system first try. I don't want to put you in danger."

"Oh, don't even consider doing this by yourself."

"I can't. I need you by my side. You're my Watson." He grinned sheepishly.

"I'd rather be Moriarty."

"You want to be my arch nemesis?"

You smiled. "Well, I'm definitely in for seeing this through. But we need to go over these notes and have a plan."

"Agreed."

"Aren't you friends with that girl who is really good with security systems?"

"Ethel? Her dad did own a cybersecurity company, but it went out of business. I don't know... do you really want to bring someone else into this?"

"No, but it could be handy to have someone with those skills on our side."

"Yeah. I mean I've seen Ethel like once since I started going to Southside, but I'll try to talk to her. Get a feel for what she may be willing to do." He looked at you. "It's literally not even seven yet."

"I know." You glanced at the clock for the second time that morning.

"Should we go back to bed?"

"Yes."

He grinned lifting you off the ground and carrying you into the bedroom. He hit his foot on the edge of the bedframe and fell forward partially on top of you. You both broke out laughing. When the laughter stopped, he was leaning over you with a huge smile on his face. He bit his lip before brushing your hair out of your face and uniting his lips with yours.
