There was not a second that day where your thoughts weren't on him. Never in your life had you known anyone like him, and you were quite certain you were falling irrevocably in love. Just thinking of his smile warmed your stomach, visualizing his eyes sent you into a sense of ecstasy, and his intelligence drove you plain wild.

Stepping out of the shower you contemplated your outfit for the evening while applying some makeup. As usual you hated what you saw in the mirror, even after you had tried your best to spruce yourself up. You wished that you were attractive so that you had a chance to be with Jughead, but you knew you would have to settle for his friendship. You threw on a black and orange flannel, a leather jacket, some jeans, and a pair of trusted combat boots. You also packed a small bag with a flashlight, camelback, and a utility knife, who knew what may be waiting in those woods.

Your heart skipped a beat as you saw him sitting on the lone picnic table at the park. He was lost in a book, misty clouds emanating from his mouth upon his exhales.

"Hey."

He looked up, his eyes their own magic source. "Hey." He slammed the book shut and shoved it into a small backpack, slinging it on his back. "This way. I know a shortcut." You walked in silence for a long time. As much as you tried to keep your mind focused on the task at hand, it kept wondering back to how wonderful it had felt with him sleeping next to you. You were too nervous to even look his way as you felt you would have just broken out in an insane grin, thus freaking him out.

Voices and laughter emitted from an opening, where a large banner was sprawled advertising the event. Blossom Family Pumpkin Patch- Fun for the Whole Family- Pick Your Own Pumpkins, Haunted House, Hayride, Delicious Maple Treats & More!

He leaned over and whispered in your ear. "I know a trail that-"

"Oh my gosh!" Cheryl ran towards you. She wore a long red trench coat, her lips perfectly coated in a matching hue. "I knew it." She looked from you to Jughead. "Once you guys sampled each other in the closet you just couldn't stop." She opened her mouth, pressing her tongue beneath her top teeth. "Well spill!" She demanded after a moment.

You didn't know how to respond. Jughead and you exchanged bizarre glances.

"Oh, it's okay." She placed a hand on each of your shoulders. "You're shy. How about you go through the haunted house?" She smiled deviously. "On the house."

"No that's okay." You finally muster.

"Nonsense, no date is complete without a tryst through the house of horrors."

"We're not on a-"

"Then pray tell, what are you doing at my patch?" Her tone turned bitter, suspicion rising.

Jughead and you eyed each other.

"That's what I thought." Her smile returned. "Leonard!" The man working the haunted house entrance turned around. "Let these little creepos in, compliments of muah. "Shoo shoo, little birdies." She directed you into the ramp. "Just call me cupid." She winked before twirling around and disappearing into the crowd.
