"Jeongin, can we talk?" Chan questioned nervously, fiddling with his fingers as he watched the younger boy run around his house in a rush.
"Whatever it is, it has to wait chan,we're already late."
The brunette sighed. He had something to get off his chest, and if he didn't say it right now, he knew he wouldn't say it at all.
You see, volunteering together at the animal shelter was of course where they met, along with Woojin. But that was a long time ago, years to be fair and he knew not everything could last forever.
That was exactly why it came as no surprise to him or jeongin when woojin sat them down to tell him he was resigning from the shelter as him and Lia were taking the next step on their relationship, ultimately meaning woojin would be moving a few cities away.
Fortunately, this didn't mean the end of their friendship. A 3 hour drive isn't that far to see a good friend however it would be if it was something he had to do everyday.
Then came the news that the shelter was being shut down.
The place ran on donations, and recently they hadn't been getting enough so along with the news of woojin leaving, the owner decided to close the shelter for good.
Once chan was informed of this, he was devastated and immediately spoke to the previous owner in an attempt to convince him new donors could be found.
The man was unsure at first, but eventually decided to give him 3 weeks to get things running again and then not only would the shelter continue business, but chan would take over as the new manager.
That brings us to today, the community fair which was being used as his platform to get the word out. Jisungs parents were sponsoring the entire day on his behalf and had already signed the papers to be sending recurring donations, things were looking up.
He was thankful for his friends who had volunteered to run stalls, however a lot of work still needed to be done, and right now Jeongin and himself were still running late.
Despite all the thoughts currently flooding his mind regarding business, there was one outstanding thing that no matter how busy he made himself, he couldn't shake.
He had tried to ignore it, but when you've been holding in something that you've been feeling for over 2 years, it begins to get frustrating.
At first he had told himself it was because of the amount of time the two spent together and it was just a school boy crush, but eventually the feelings grew stronger and it became harder and harder to push them aside and disregard them as if they never existed.
That was when he realised it wasn't just a crush, he was completely in love with his bestfriend, yang Jeongin.
The reason he had kept his mouth shut for so long is because for starters, Jeongin was in a relationship with a girl named yuna for the first year of his crush, and secondly because chan had never dated, nor liked a boy in that way before.
It had taken some time for him to come to terms with his sexuality and even though at the moment he still wasn't completely comfortable with any label in particular, he knew how he felt.
And he wanted more than anything to tell Jeongin.
There had been times when he thought the younger may have felt the same, but he would always brush it off as him being friendly.
Still, he admired him from a far. Yet for some reason, a sudden spark of courage had urged chan to say what was on his mind right now, although clearly the current moment wasn't the most convenient.
He watched the younger from the Passangers seat after he had insisted on driving. He looked so beautiful today. He looked beautiful everyday.
Chan found joy in watching him do the simplest of things. Whether it was cooking dinner, scrolling through his phone of simply running his fingers through his hair.
"You know, just because you are in the Passangers seat doesn't mean I can't see you staring." Jeongin dead panned taking the elder by surprise.
He averted his eyes and turned his head to face the window, brushing it off with a laugh and praying that the red permeating his cheeks would soon die down.
Eventually the car ride was over and they arrived at their destination. Chan couldn't get out of that car fast enough, the tense atmosphere was almost suffocating.
In only minutes they were surrounded by their friends and chan couldn't help but smile admirably as Seungmin and hyunjin bickered flirtatiously.
"Why are you so grumpy." He heard the raven haired boy whine.
"Oh don't be daft, hyunjin." Seungmin sighed angrily. "I just spent 20 fucking dollars trying to win that stupid stuffed puppy and I completely blew it every damn time."
Snaking a hand around the youngers waist, Hyunjin placed a kiss on the tip of seungmins nose.
"Put a smile on that pretty little mouth of yours and then I will go and win it for you."
Chan laughed seeing the brunettes eyes light up as he nodded his head like an excited five year old and before he knew it, the two were already off in the direction of the said stall.
God, he was so glad those two finally made things official.
The night was long and although it was tiring with all the promoting the boys had to do, when their job was done they were sure to spare some time to have fun before the fair closed.
Hyunjin and Seungmin went for the dogem karts, the youngest of the two being sure to get a two seater for himself and his new puppy plush. Changbin and Felix ended up at the ring toss after Felix suggested the kissing booth and Changbin almost lost his shit and Jisung and Minho were on the Ferris wheel taking the cutest couple pictures that Instagram was sure to see later that night.
Chan looked around for Jeongin, hoping he hadn't gone too far so he hopefully wouldn't be stuck by himself feeling even more single than he already did on a day to day basis.
"Hyung!" He heard the youngers voice call out causing him to turn around immediately only to be met with the site of the blonde carrying two lots of fairy floss in his hands. "Look what I got for us! One each!" He informed enthusiastically.
Chan took it and smiled gratefully, feeling the nostalgic taste of the sweet force him to reminisce about when he was a child.
"Is there a stall you want to visit before we go? Or maybe a ride?" The older questioned, looking around at the lines that had grown noticeably shorter as people were beginning to leave.
Jeongin scanned his surroundings thoughtfully before his eyes grew wide at one particular event. Chans mouth went dry. "You've got to be kidding me."
He looked down at his feet that were now dangling 119m in the ear. That was his first mistake, looking down. He closed his eyes and tried to steady his breathing, why on earth did he agree to going on the giant drop?!
All of a sudden he felt a small hand latch onto his own as Jeongin smiled down at their conjoined fingers.
"Don't worry, it only lasts a few seconds and then it's all over."
Chans heart was now beating even faster and at this point he was seeing a cardiac arrest in the near future. The boy had done a good job at distracting him from the ride they were on, but to chan, this affection from someone he had an unrequited love for was much scarier and thought consuming.
"All you have to do is hold my hand and you'll be alright, okay?" Jeongin reassured him, tracing over Chans knuckle with his thumb.
The older looked at the counter, only 7 more seconds until they drop.

Jeongin was right, it did only last a few seconds. However chan hardly noticed the temporary rush of falling, because it was nothing compared to the one he had been experiencing for 2 years now.
Yet above all, even that felt insignificant to the one he felt when Jeongins lips touched his.
There was some things he'd rather forget about that night, however there was also some he planned on keeping close to his heart for years to come.

Hope you enjoyed this chapter, I know there wasn't much Minsung but I wanted to end this story on a happy note for all the couples, so I thought I'd include this before I finish up.
