Clary woke to the sound of laughing. Two laugh's she'd know anywhere and so with a shaky laugh herself Clary opened her eyes to see Jace and Jake sat on the end of his medical bed. Jake was shaking his head rapidly and pointing to something on the bed.
"No daddy, the dog is mine, you hwave the iron" and Clary suddenly understood. They were fighting over monopoly.
"That's an iron? No wonder all my clothes look like wrinkled old ladies" Jace said and as soon as he did Jake burst out laughing.
"That's what mommy's for" he said with a cheeky grin and Clary couldn't help the tut that escaped her lips.
"Mr Herondale, why are you not asleep" Clary asked as she sat up in the chair, she had a bad ache in her neck that she suspected was due to the fact she had slept in a chair all night. Both boys turned to face her and Jace simply smiled as Jake lost interest and turned back to the board.
"Which Herondale were you referring too?" Jace asked with a cheeky smile and Clary wanted nothing more in that moment than to wrap her arms around him and never let go.
"The little one" Clary said lazily as she stood up with a stretch. "How long was i out?"
"Well" Jace said slowly. "Hard to tell, i couldn't hear the clock through your snoring" and once again Jake giggled beside him.
"Don't encourage him Jake" Clary said with a slight smile herself. She slowly made her way over to Jake and bent down in front of him.
"Show me your belly" Clary said as she got on her knee's. so she was Jake's hight. He sighed dramatically but did as she said, lifting up his ninja turtles shirt to show off a ruff looking bandage that covered most of his small flat stomach. Carefully Clary began to unwrap the bandage, making sure to keep an eye on Jake incase she caused him pain. As she unwrapped a few layers she started to see blood wringing the bandage, a small patch of brown dry blood that had her heart aching. The queen was going to pay for what she had done to him.
"Clary" Jace said seriously. All the humour gone from his tone. He was looking at her worriedly, like he could read her thoughts. She shook her head once as she carried on unwrapping. Until she reached the final layer, with a small pull Clary slowly lifted the last patch of bandage and couldn't help the gasp that escaped her lips. Jake's stomach looked bad. There was a diagonal cut running through the bottom of his stomach near his hip bone, with at least fifth-teen stitches holding it shut. Around the wound was red and sore. As if seeing her reaction Jake looked down and frowned.
"Am i going to have a scar like daddy now?" Jake asked almost revoltingly, with his little nose scrunched up cutely and Clary couldn't help but giggle at Jake's reaction. Jace on the other hand simply scoffed and lifted up his shirt.
"I'll have you know" he said whilst poking the faint white scar from where Clary had stabbed him. "Girls like men with scars" he said defensively and looked to Clary for back up. She on the other hand couldn't look away from Jace. It had been nearly seven years since they were married and Jace still seemed to have that effect on her. The curve of his hip line. The perfect outlines of muscle. She couldn't look away, and she didn't trust her voice so Clary simply nodded her head. Jace looked sideways at her with a goofy grin on his face as he raised an eyebrow.
"You alright there mrs Herondale? Need a cold bath" Jace asked cheekily.
"Why does mommy need a bath?" Jake asked and completely snapped Clary out of her funk. She snapped back to attention and grinned at the ground.
"Dad will tell you when your older" Clary said whilst reapplying the bandage.
"Now you need sleep, and i need to go get Charlotte, before she wakes up again" Clary said with a sigh and rubbed her forehead, but before she could even stand up Jace placed a hand on her shoulder.
"I'll get her" he said hurriedly as he shot off towards the door, not giving either of them a second glance.
"Daddy weally likes Chwarlotte" Jake said with a jealous frown. He was so adorable when he pouted that Clary resisted the urge to pull him into another death hug.
"That's because he loves her, and you as well. Your our babies" Clary said motherly and mentally vomited at how much she sounded like her mother in that sentence. Jake also seemed to cringe and then he smiled wickedly.
"I'm not cute, i'm vicious. And i'm going to kill demons like daddy" Jake said smugly and Clary couldn't help but laugh.
"Sure you are tiger, now get in bed" and with a rumple of his hair Jake did as he was told and brushing aside the monopoly board got into bed. Waiting for Clary to read to him.
Tommy sighed as he picked up his piece of toast. The institute had been kind enough to him to allow him and Ellie to stay for a while, but he knew what it was really about. The local downtown pack would want him. Tommy had been told it was run by someone named Mia and he was dreading having to meet her. To have to tell her that he wouldn't join her pack. That he didn't want to join any pack. He wanted Ellie, and that was that. A hand broke his trail of thought as someone's slim and feminine hand slid around his shoulder and took the piece of toast he'd been playing with out of his hands.
"If your not going to eat it, i will" Ellie said as she slid into the seat next to him. She took a bite out of the almost black toast and wrinkled up her nose.
"You burnt it" she said as she placed the toast back down on the plate. She looked over at Tommy who hadn't answered her and she sighed. "Tom, you don't have anything to worry about. I hear this Mia person's nice, a friend of Jace's, they'll understand your not rogue" she said reassuringly and Tommy wanted nothing more than to pull her in and kiss her, so he did. With a sleigh smile Tommy reached out and grabbed Ellie who squealed cutely.
"Tommy no" she said through giggled as Tommy lifted her off her chair and placed her on his lap so she was straddling Tommy from the front. He slowly reached out and cupped her face with his hands.
"This is why i love you" Tommy said with a smile as he placed a small kiss on the end of her nose. He then moved his mouth and kissed her cheek. Slowly letting his lips linger until he felt Ellie's hand on the back of his neck. She pulled him down until their lips met fiercely. Tommy put his hands on her hips and kissed her passionately, a clash of tongues and teeth. Ellie suddenly pulled away and gasped.
"I... Forgot.. To.. Breath" she said in between gasps and Tommy couldn't help but laugh.
"Your so cute" Tommy said, his voice raspy and deep.
"No" Ellie said as Tommy bent his head down. He smiled as he bent down towards her neck, she knew what he was about to do. He began to kiss down her neck, sweet soft kisses, he could feel Ellie arching her neck back for him as he continued along her neck. Until he reached her sweet spot. Tommy softly kissed and sucked her sweet spot causing Ellie to moan out loud as she ran her fingers through his hair.
"Always nice to see some action first thing in the morning, i happen to have a baby watching" a deep voice said and Tommy pulled away from Ellie sharply. Looking behind him to send a glare at Jace.
"No one made you come in" Tommy said as he looked at Jace. He looked tired, his hair ruffled about like he'd just got up and asleep in his arms was charlotte, tommy had found her adorable and not wanting to admit it to anyone, but he wanted one.
"Actually i just needed her bottle" Jace said with a wicked smile as he looked at Ellie, still sat in tommy's lap.
"Good morning Ellie" Jace said with a smile as he slid past the table and grabbed a bottle from the counter top. with only a small laugh he pushed back past them and made his way out of the kitchen. Tommy looked over to Ellie who was blushing bright red.
"That was different" she said with a shaky laugh and Tommy smiled.
"You were loving it" he said and she smacked him on the arm playfully.
"not as much as you were"
"Whats that suppose to mean?" Tommy asked quizzically and she only smiled
"Nothing, now let me up so i can make us some proper breakfast" she said as she struggled to climb of his lap. Tommy smiled as she got up and slapped her behind as he stood up himself.
"Shout me when your done, i need some more sleep" he said and as he turned he could hear Ellie laughing behind him.
"Your such a dog"
"I've been told that" Tommy said with a smile as he left the kitchen.
"Your not gonna believe what i just saw" Jace said as he entered the room.
"Shh, i just got Jake off to sleep" Clary said as she looked up from the chair. Her face lifted as she saw charlotte asleep in Jace's arms. He smiled as he handed her over reluctantly. He was terrified of breaking her, she was so small and sweet he didn't want to hurt her. he handed the bottle over once charlotte was happily tucked into Clary's arms and she smiled down at charlotte. Jace looked over at Jake who was tucked up under the covers of his hospital bed and was wheezing softly.
"How did you get him off?" Jace asked quietly. he'd been trying to get Jake to sleep all morning whilst Clary was sleeping cutely in the chair in the corner that she was currently sat in.
"Mothers persuasion" she said back with a grin but then her face grew serious. "What wont i believe" she asked skeptically and Jace only smiled.
"Tommy and Ellie making out in the kitchen" he said with a fake gag and Clary also wrinkled up her nose.
"I'm kind of glad i didn't see that" she said happily and then frowned. "Jace" she said slowly and he could tell she was going to say something that was bad. so with a sigh he nodded slowly. mentally readying himself for what was next.
"What are we going to do about the queen, i mean she put us in danger again. and this isn't simon, Jake isn't clumsy enough to get himself kidnapped. this is serious, we can't leave this" She said and Jace sighed mentally. she had a point, unlike simon who seemed to always find some way into trouble, Jake was well trained for a six year old, knowing what he should and shouldn't do. but there was no way they could go in there and break the treaty, that would just start a war. a war that wasn't necessary.
"Look Clary" Jace said with a frown as he placed himself on the floor in-between Clary's legs. He stared at Jake sleeping carelessly in bed, and that was the moment he became sure on one thing. "she won't get away with what she's done to our family. i promise you that Clary, but we can't just go barging onto her territory willy nilly. we need a reason, so i say we play the waiting game. carry on as normal and attend every council meeting on the matter of fairies. we need to collect information on our enemy. this is going to be a long game, but if we want her sent down right we need to be patient" Jace replied and he could feel Clary stiffen above him.
"What about ja-" but Jace cut her off with a small laugh.
"You think i'd let her anywhere near our family after this" Jace said with a sarcastic laugh.
"We wait until she makes a wrong move" Jace added helpfully and a soft hand touched his shoulder carefully.
"I love you so much" Clary said softly, this was the kind of cute sentence that melted his heart.
"Ditto" Jace said with a smile. if he was determined on anything. it was that they were going to ruin the queen for what she'd done to his family.

I've been really busy lately and haven't been able to update. The next one will be a time skip btw to when Jake's 16.... If thats too big of a time skip tell me.
