Mariana finally woke up to her phone vibrating on her bedside table. She wiggled under Suga's arm until he lossened his grip enough for Mariana to grab her phone and check it. She cringed at the blinding light from her phone, and Suga buried his face into her shoulder blade as it turned on.
"Jagiiiii." She heard him mumble into her spine from behind her as Mariana turned the brightness down on her phone.
Mariana pulled on the bed sheet to help shield Suga from the light before she checked the messages. She had told Seon he could keep her number for emergencies, and normally he was very respectful of that rule.
Mariana:
Seon, I am in the states right now dealing with family matters. It is 4:30 in the morning, what's wrong? 4:26 am
Kang Seon:
I didn't know you were back home, I'm sorry. We can talk later so you can sleep. 4:27 am
Mariana:
Oh no you don't. 4:28 am
I'm awake now.
Start talking. 4:29 am
Kang Seon:
Are you sure? It's really not THAT important. I can wait until you come back... 4:31 am
Mariana:
Seon. I don't know when I'm coming back to Korea. Talk. 4:32 am
Kang Seon:
Really? Is everything is okay? 4:33 am
Mariana:
Not exactly.... I don't want to talk about it right now. 4:34 am
Kang Seon:
Whatever it is, I'm really sorry you have to go through it. 4:35 am

Mariana:
Thanks, Seon. I really do appreciate it, but I usually go to my boyfriend and my best friends. 4:39
Kang Seon:
I know. I just want you to know that you still have me too, if you need me. 4:41 am
Mariana:

Now, why did you start texting me in the middle of the night? 4:43 am

That sounds an awful lot like you want to find a way to make me come back to you... 4:46 am
Kang Seon:
That's not my intention, I promise. I don't blame you for breaking up with me, I really don't. But you were the only real friend I had. I'm going through a rough patch right now, and I need someone solid that I can rely on in my life. 4:47 am
Mariana:
You have other friends, Seon. 4:48 am
Kang Seon:
Yeah, "friends". They use me to get cute girls to sleep with them so they can ditch me and drop me with their tab, or use me for a punch line. They don't actually care about me or what I do. 4:49 am
Mariana:
I don't want to say I told you so, but.......... 4:50 am
Kang Seon:
You told me so, several times. I know. I just never realized how right you were until recently. 4:52 am

Mariana sighed a bit. She patted her thumbs against the sides of her phone in thought for a moment before finally typing a reply.
Mariana:
Tell you what. We can be just friends.
BUT
You have to earn it like every other person. 4:58 am
Kang Seon:
That's all I'm asking. Thank you so much Mariana! 4:59 am
Mariana:
Sure. Now, I'm going back to bed for a few hours. Please try not to message me for about the next four hours. 5:00 am
Kang Seon:
Noted. Sleep tight Mariana. 5:03 am
**9:00 am**
"Are those two still asleep?" Aunt Jessica asked with a bit of a surprise.
"Probably." Susan started before she flipped a pancake over on her stovetop griddle. "The time change of Korea to the states has always kicked Ana in the butt."
"It's already 9:00. Dinner is going to get cold before they decide to get up." Uncle Al joked.
"Nah, they just need a push. Why don't you go see if you can get them up, Lizzie?"
"Okay!" Lizzie happily exclaimed and jumped down from her kitchen barstool and almost trotted down the stairs on her way to Mariana's room.
Lizzie pushed the door to Mariana's room open, causing Mariana to groan and roll over into Suga's chest as the light hit her face.
"Ana, it's breakfast time!"
Mariana groaned and pulled the blanket over her and Suga's heads.
"I'll jump on you." Lizzie playfully threatened as she walked into the room.
"Don't you dare." Mariana mumbled.
"Well, I can't exactly trick you with "BTS is upstairs" anymore." Lizzie said and smiled a bit as she heard Suga snort in amusement.
"Nope. I have the important member right here." Mariana stated, barely above a mumble.
"Your mom made lots of baaacooon....." Lizzie bribingly pointed out.
"Ana, 일어나, 베이컨있어!" [Wake up, there's bacon!] Suga exclaimed in excitement and threw the blankets off of them.
"Yoongiiiiiiiiiiiii." Mariana groaned and rolled onto her stomach while still holding onto his arm.
"그리고 사람들은 내가 아침에 나쁘다고 생각합니다...." [And the guys think I'M bad in the mornings....] Suga said with a bit of a mumble before continuing. "안나에와. 아침 먹으러 가자." [Come on Ana. Let's go get breakfast.]
"You go, I wanna sleep..." Ana said with a bit of a whine into her pillow.
"그러나 나는 영어가 능숙하지 못합니다. 너와 함께 가길 바래." [But I'm not good at English. I need you to come with me.]
"No, you don't. You just act like you don't know enough English because you think you have too much accent. Which is bullshit. We can understand you just fine." Ana pointed out with a pout in her tone.
"Have I talked you awake yet?" Suga asked her with an amused smile.
Ana was silent for a moment before she sighed. "Yeees." She droned.
"Good! 음식 가져 가자!" [Let's go get food!] Suga happily said and patted Ana's thigh a few times to encourage her to move.
Ana propped herself up on her elbows and looked up at him with stink eyes. "너를 좋아해서 운이 좋다." [You're lucky I like you.] She told him before she drug herself out of bed and stood by the doorway with Lizzie, Suga not far behind them.
They all walked up the set of stairs together, around the corner, and into the kitchen in content silence as Ana finished waking herself up and they all took their seats at the kitchen table. Everyone fixed their own plates, and chit chatted with Mariana and Suga about their lives in Korea, and what Mariana had been missing in the states the past few years. There were quite a few things she wished she could have been there for, but she also wouldn't have traded meeting Suga and the others for anything. She was happy being in Korea, but not just because of them. She loved the place too. It made her start to wonder if she really would go back to the states when she was done with her schooling.
