Ethan's P.O.V
Amelia stood there, looking at me, not saying anything. I was not planning on saying that to her, well not tonight anyway but just being here with her, seeing her laugh and smile made me realise that's what I wanted. Yes we are only eighteen, people may think I am crazy for asking but when you know you know.
"You...you wanna get married?" She stuttered out
I could not tell what she thought about this, only thing on her face was shock
"Yes. Do you not wanna?" I asked worried
Amelia wrapped her arms around my neck
"Yes, yes I do but was not expecting you to say that to me." She giggled
"I was not expecting it either, well not right now. I have been thinking about it a lot." I said
"You said before college by that do you mean get married before college or get engaged before college?" she asked
I reached in pushing her wet hair away from her eyes, smiling at her
"I mean get married before college, get engaged um...right now if you will have me." I said smiling at her
I watch as the biggest smile appeared on her lips and she reached in kissing me, her fingers wrapping in my hair and I pulled her in close to me. I know it was not the best proposal in the world but the moment felt right. Our lips parted
"Is that a yes?" I asked hopeful
She nodded, getting emotional "yes." She breathed out "I love you Ethan and I don't wanna ever love anyone else." She added
I knew before this became official I had a few things that I need to do first.
"You will?" I said, Amelia answering me with a kiss, a sweet, passionate kiss
"Before we can make this official baby, there is a few things I need to do first." I said, Amelia curious on what I meant "I need to speak to Matt and your dad, need their permission, I promised Matt I would ask him first, I know I never done that but I got caught up in the moment, that OK baby?" I asked
"Yes your probably should do that." She giggled
I knew she would understand. I was still trying to get over that I asked her to marry me. As we all know I have been thinking about this a lot recently. I had it all planned in my head. Was gonna save for a ring, ask Matt and her dads permission and make a big deal of proposing to her cause that is what she deserves but all of that disappeared right in this moment, it felt right. I don't even know if they will give me permission cause we are only eighteen, I really hope they know me well enough to know that I love her with my whole heart and I wanna spent the rest of my life with her. It was still crazy how much has changed in the space of a year, but mostly for the best. I don't know who I was more nervous about asking, Matt or her father. I think I need to ask them together, get it done all at once. I don't know what I will do if they say no to me.
"Matt knew I was thinking about it, him and I spoke about it a couple of week ago but at that time I was not planning to do it this soon. I am sorry it was not exactly the most romantic proposal Amelia." I said, hoping she was not to disappointed about the way it happened
"It was perfect Ethan. I don't need anything out there and fancy, what you done right there? I don't think I would want it any other way." She said smiling
She really was perfect. I am glad she was not disappointed with how I done it even though I done it without an actual ring.
"I will get you a ring...I promise." I said caressing her hips
"No rush baby, knowing is enough." She said sweetly
I pulled her into my chest, hugging her and kissing the top of her head
"Amelia you make me happier than anything in this world." I said
"I know and you make me the same my love." She whispered back
I reached down, stealing another kiss before deciding we should probably get out of the water, she was chittering with the coldness. I was engaged...we were engaged! This is crazy, good crazy. I honestly never thought I would be in a serious relationship at this age, never mind engaged to the love of my life. The world does have a way of making things happen doesn't it? It is a funny thing how much no one actually knows what is gonna happen in the future.
"Come on baby you are chittering. I have blankets in my car, get you out of these wet clothes and get you warmed up." I said taking her hand in my mind, lifting it to my hand and kissing her knuckles "I love you." I added
"Yes please, I am really cold." She giggled "I love you too." She added
I did warn her it would be cold but I am glad she went in...glad we went in and the moment came for me to ask her to marry me.

Amelia and I were laying in the back seat of my car, snuggled up in each other and in blankets after making love. She was laying between my legs, her head on my chest and her fingers linked with mine
"Ethan see when I moved here I never imagined I would meet someone like you, fall in love this hard and be the happiest have ever been but that all changed the moment I met you. You have changed my life...changed me in the best way and I will always love you for that. And knowing you want us to get married...knowing you wanna spent the rest of your life with me makes me the happiest girl in the world." She said "I know there will be people that say we are too young but I don't care, when you know you know." She added
I could feel my heart thudding in my chest as she spoke those words to me. I don't think I could ever imagine myself loving anyone else if it was not her.
"Baby that is all I wanna do, make you happy." I whispered, kissing the top of her head
Amelia rolled onto her stomach, looking at me with a beautiful smile on her lips that would make any man's heart melt. She placed a line of gentle kisses over my stomach and up to my chest, laying on top of me, resting her forehead against mine
"Do you think you can put up with me for years to come?" she laughed
"I don't think my love, I know." I said winking at her
Amelia smiled at me again, reaching in to kiss my lips softly. I couldn't help but smile into the kiss, I love when she kisses me, even after a year together it still feels as amazing as the first one. Amelia lay on my chest, the know of us laying there, cuddling as a silence fell between us but it was peaceful silence, the both of us enjoying the moment between us. I could lay here all night with her like this if I could but I knew soon we would need to move. Right now though? I am gonna enjoy the moment, enjoy us being engaged in case tomorrow when I ask Matt and her dad things don't go as planned, hope that isn't the case but I can't help but worry.
