"Kaki! Oh my gosh, I got what I wanted!" My little sister screamed while she started to scoot back against the tiled floor.
"Relax." I giggled as I clapped with her.
"Next one is for mama." I smiled to myself as I gave her, her gift that I had gotten.
It was later in the morning about to be noon, after getting all the groceries we all stayed up later than usual. Just to watch a rerun of the soap opera that I had missed out on. I hadn't had much time to watch tv and it made me feel so much better from being away from Y/N. This was my true home and I missed it so much.
When Sofia had fallen asleep on the couch us three maneuvered her back into her room. When she was dead asleep we all rushed to the kitchen to eat some of the cookies. That was one main key of keeping Santa alive and I was a strong believer of feeding myself. The one on one time with my parents made me feel deep anxiety knowing I had to leave soon. It would be a long while until I saw them again.
"Karla." She trailed off and she gasped lightly when she opened up her gift.
I could only get a couple things since I didn't have a lot of money, I was gonna be thirty dollars short the time I get back to Portland. I would probably be a little late for rent but I knew I'd just have to work double shifts.
"How'd you even get this?!" She gasped as she held the necklace delicately.
I giggled as I liked the way my heart swelled at her reaction, "I worked a lot. That's why I wasn't answering on time."
"I love it, Camilita." She smiled softly and I looked back at Sofia where she was discreetly cutting a gift up with her fingernail.
"Dad.." I happily smiled as I grabbed his own gift.
"Your watch keeps dying and I think it was time for you get a new one." I spoke when he opened it completely and his eyes almost bugged out.
"This is really expensive.. Camila-"
"Shh, look at all the stuff you bought for us. This is nothing, I finally have my own money source." I happily cheesed and grabbed the gift Sofia was picking at.
"Sofia." I softly hissed and she looked up at me with big brown eyes.
Then I glanced down where I secretly set up my phone under the tree. Y/N was with Donovan and Samantha at a small diner nearby her apartment. We had been on FaceTime since last night, I really liked sleeping next to her. I saw an actual future with her and I couldn't wait to see what tomorrow had in store for us.
Then I caught her look into the camera and she smiled at me causing me to bite my lip. My heart fluttered deeply while Sofia snatched the present she was fiddling with beforehand. As my dad handed out the next round of presents I couldn't help but get too deep into my head.
I couldn't wait to look to my side one day and have Y/N here with me. While I give her a present that I got her with my parents watching. I wanted her to be a regular family member- even though I knew she'd be awkward. She didn't like meeting new people all that often. Especially my family, my family was big and loud.
Oh my God, what if we had kids?
"Camila." I heard my mom clap her hands and I looked down at my still wrapped gift.
"Sorry." I laughed and quickly shook that thought away from me.
I opened up the gift with Y/N still on my mind, she was always on my mind. Fuck.

The sound of the Buena Vista Social Club booming through the kitchen while I kept my phone on the charger. Y/N was walking to the coffee shop to study in her own atmosphere. Again, she hated being alone when she had to study for some reason. I couldn't do that. I got distracted too easily.
It was about six here and dinner was gonna start any minute now, Y/N was getting all the inside scoop. My parents eventually caught on that she was on the phone. They tried their best to welcome her through a screen which she gratefully appreciated. I don't think she was used to all the interest in her. I didn't know all that much about her own family besides they liked to keep abuse hush, hush.
I didn't know enough to judge all of them but I had an idea of her father and I really disliked the man. Despite never meeting him. I didn't have to. She told me the one story and it was enough for me to dislike him.
"Sinu, this is so good." I heard my grandma, Mercedes, smack her lips as she tasted one of the dishes my mom made.
"Mama." My mom tried to warn her but ended up just giving her more.
Sandra and Marielle had come over with their family and food and I knew it was gonna be a party. A controlled party that was filled with family and culture. Fuck, I didn't know how many times I was gonna say it but I missed this so much. I ended up taking a glass of wine my mom poured out for me and my charged overheated phone. Hours upon hours on screen time had my low grade iPhone burning up.
But as long as I could see Y/N's cute face I didn't care; I walked outside with my drink and eventually started to move my hips. I giggled with Sandra as the music moved me, I was such a lightweight that a few sips had me a little dizzy. I still felt good though, I felt more open due to just being around my whole family. I don't think I'd ever find anyone as passionate about family like me. Not to brag.
"Look at them moves." I heard Y/N giggle from my phone and I smiled widely.
I looked down at my phone just to see her setting up her laptop up at the coffee shop table. Her cute ass opened up her notebook as she sat down comfortably.
"You gonna get your latte?" I smirked and she shook her head.
"I don't really get any coffee unless you're making it. You make it right." She shrugged and I smiled as I took another sip of my glass.
"Of course I do." I deadpanned and she smirked leaning into the phone.
"And what's that supposed to mean?" She wet her lips and I sat down across from Marielle.
"Everything I do is perfect to you." I cockily replied and she suddenly laughed.
"Yeah... yeah, you're right. But, the coffee thing is actually true. Austin doesn't really make the best coffee and I sometimes trust Dinah." Y/N tilted her head as she got out a pencil just to tap her lips with it.
"And Hailee?"
"Eh." She leaned back in her seat and I saw it was still bright and sunny outside over in Portland.
"The sun is finally out?" I gasped and she looked behind her out the window just to nod.
"Oh yeah, taking all the clouds with you, I guess." She joked lightly and ended up looking at her laptop while her phone was propped up.
"Don't forget the leftovers, babe." She mentioned as she typed away and I smiled to myself.
That's when I saw my little cousin smirk my way causing me to roll my eyes, "Que?" I dragged out and she giggled shaking her head.
"Babe." She teased as she looked down at her own phone.
She was obsessed with all Viner's and any band boys that came onto her Instagram feed. I then reached over and snatched her phone from her hands when I had an idea.
"Ay!"
"Shh." I put my phone on my lap and scrolled through her feed.
"Oh.. Ana!" I gasped and she groaned when I saw her following and commenting on Shawn's posts.
"You know the Shawn Mendes, he's literally one of the most followed people on Vine-"
"How the hell don't I know this stuff?" I frowned as I watched more and more videos of him singing in the dorm.
"Wow, I'm really oblivious." I mumbled as I saw him singing while I was dead asleep in the background.
"Cause you're so caught up in coffee cutie's bubble, now give me my phone back puta!" She hissed and I giggled deeply while I caught Y/N's smile from my phone.
"It's not a bad thing." I half glared at her and gave my cousin her phone back.
"I know, I'd love to have a person to come into my work just to see me cause they're too much of a wuss to talk to me-"
"If you're gonna be disrespectful, keep it to yourself, right now." I squinted my eyes at her feeling serious and she smiled.
"It's cute, relax." She rolled her eyes and went back to her phone while I looked down at mine.
"Gots to defends my womans." I mumbled lowly to my phone and my girlfriend laughed.
"Don't go too overboard, don't want you to get yourself in trouble." Her eyebrow quirked up along with her lips.
"You're sleeping with me again tonight." I commented while I looked up at the sudden commotion.
I heard Sandra and Marielle's cousins yell happily and walk out the back door, "Food is here!" The two young men yelled and I groaned.
"Oh yes." I gasped as I shot right up and I didn't realize she was still looking my way.
"Now, I know, I just have to bribe you with food." I heard my girlfriend mumble and I winked towards the camera causing her to chuckle.
Imagine her eating off of me- stop.
I rushed in between my family members to get a giant plate of food. I waited all year for a feast like this again, I'd never get over it. I was such a whore for food, I loved everything so much- maybe that's why I loved Y/N so much. She was the biggest snack I had ever seen. I couldn't wait to suck the life out of her.
"Fuck." I sighed as I chewed on a piece of grilled chicken mid pour.
"Get to the table first, mi amor." She giggled deeply and I smiled as if I were in heaven.
Yeah, next year I was gonna be floating on cloud nine. I would be so light I'd feel as if I were actually drunk. My baby, my family, and my food all in one place - total heaven. I rushed to my original seat in the house and waited for everyone to join. Extra seats and tables were conjoined while Y/N listened in. It took a bit for all of us to settle down and quiet ourselves but eventually my abuela started to speak for us all as one. In her native tongue, she went to town as we all bowed our heads.
Soon enough we were all cheering and talking up a storm that our dear friend and neighbor was probably getting tired of us. She was here for a couple hours but who know? She probably did want a few minutes of alone time, my family was very boisterous. We welcomed anyone and everyone with wide open arms and loud mouths. Y/N was in for a big change.
I then looked down at my phone as I moved with the song that was now playing over everyone's conversations. She was in her zone studying and I smiled not giving a damn if anyone thought I was being silly. I missed my girlfriend and I wanted her here so everyone could see how great she was. But, again, sadly she wasn't and I had to keep it that way until next year. I'd start saving when I got back home from my trip.

"I see you." I heard my dad's voice and I looked up from my phone to see him smiling my way.
"Stop." I mouthed and my grandma snickered loudly while everyone noisily conversed.
"I want to know more, Karla." She pointed her fork at me and my mom evilly laughed.
I discreetly rolled my eyes as my heart swelled once more,
"Everyone does abuela."

"Babyy." I whispered into the phone as I laid next to Marielle and Sandra.
"Hm." She wet her lips as she concentrated on the screen above the phone.
"Sleep." I drunkenly slurred and she glanced down to smile my way.
"You sleep, you're three hours ahead of me. It's only like eleven anyway."
"Don't get your sleep schedule fucked up-"
"Shut the hell up Mila." Marielle pushed me and I hazily looked over at them.
"My mom poisoned me." I informed my girlfriend and she giggled as I heard her controller clicking.
"I saw you taking drink after drink though, you're to blame too." She bit her lip and I heard her gun shoot.
"Oh fuck- why you campin' in the bush you fuckin-"
I cut her curse off as I started to laugh and she continued to go off at the screen. Sandra ended up slapping my back and I whined loudly. They were violent when they were tired, "Baby, baby." I heard her whisper in the phone and I peeked my eye into the camera.
"Save a plate for me-"
"I heard you the first time Y/N!" I hissed and she giggled while Marielle suddenly shot up.
"If you don't shut the hell up I'm gonna kick you out of your own bed."
"You sleep on the couch then!" I spat and leaned over Sandra's head to grab the wine bottle.
"Fucking lightweight." She mumbled and I rolled my eyes while Y/N looked at the camera.
"We've been on for more than twenty four hours." She cheesed cutely and I giggled as I looked away.
I wish she'd hang up sometime cause I had to use the restroom and I didn't want her to see me in that nature yet. I liked my silence and alone time when I was in my zone. Then I frowned looking at her, has she ever went the restroom yet? Then I thought about all the times she said she'd be right back and I giggled.
"Oh fuck, I'm drunk." I blamed my giggles on my low alcohol tolerance and she sighed my way.
"I'm gonna stay up until you go to bed." She crossed her arms as she stared into the camera.
"Guess we'll be pulling an all nighter-"
"Karla Camila, you have to have a goodnight's sleep so you'll be refreshed and ready when you come home to me." She tried to push me to close my eyes and I nibbled on my lip.
"Come home to you, hm?" I batted my eyelashes and she held our eye contact.
"Yeah, I'm gonna take you out to a movie when you come back. I miss you." She let me in and I smiled softly.
"You miss me? I'm right here." I wet my lips and we both chuckled.
"It's not the same." She mumbled and she leaned forward then looked around.
"Look what you've done to me." She shook her head and closed her eyes, "Can't function right without you here." She breathed out and I suddenly wanted to actually kick my friends out of my room.
I wanted Y/N to myself right about now and I felt as if I needed to cry. I missed her and I missed her holding me and kissing me.
"...Are you crying?" Y/N asked gently and I shook my head.
"I'm really drunk right now." I whispered so my voice wouldn't quiver.
Her lips suddenly widened and she started to laugh a bit, "Come on, let's lay down. We need some good eight to nine hour sleep so you won't feel so bad." She got up from her game and slid against her bed just for me.
"Close your eyes Camila."
"Your laptop light is bothering me." I whispered and she chuckled as she closed the computer.
"Sure it was." She whispered back and I closed my eyes as I tiredly let my phone prop against Sandra's ear.
After a few minutes of complete silence I started to speak up again, "Are you gonna catch me?" I slurred as my brain wandered around.
She remained a bit silent but she breathed out, "No." She gave me a small smile as her eyes remained shut.
"I'll hit the ground with you." She quipped in a breath and I couldn't help but let a grin spread across my face.
So fucking cheesy. It was the most cliche thing to say to me but it wasn't repulsive like it would be to anyone else. That shit melted my heart and it warmed my insides. Shit, I think I already hit the pavement full force. She blew me the fuck away now, she matched my cheesiness. I had never met anyone as cute and perfect as her and I don't think I ever will.
"I'll never meet anyone else like you."
And I might love you... again.
