Melody's PoV
Months had gone by and Bella had fallen into a state of depression. I spent nearly all my time over at her house, trying to help Bella through it.
I was currently sat at the kitchen table, when Charlie walks in.
He spots me, and takes a seat opposite me.
"Melody, you've been here, everyday since the Cullen's left. You should go and do something, get some space from Bella," he suggest, "I'll look after her. She's getting a lot better, thanks to you."
I smile and nod, "okay."
He smiles.
"I'll come by in a few weeks to see how she is," I inform him.
He nods, "of course."
I then get up and grab my bag.
"Take care of yourself," Charlie says.
I smile warmly at him, "I will."
I then depart for for the library. Hoping if I study for my exams it will take my mind off everything.

A few weeks later, Bella comes round to my house, looking at lot healthier and happier.
"Bella!" I exclaim.
"Hey Melody," she smiles.
"You seem a lot better," I observe.
She nods, "I've been spending a lot of time with Jacob Black."
I nod, "yeah, I've met him a couple of times."
"Have you heard from him recently?" She asks.
I shake my head, "no he's been very distant."
She frowns, "look, there's something you need to know."
I furrow my eyebrows.
"About Jake and his friends. They're shapeshifters."
I look at her shocked.
"Bella, that's a huge secret. Shouldn't he have told me?" I reply
"You're not questioning what I've just said," she states.
I shake my head, "I mean I am but, the supernatural, is becoming very natural for me."
She laughs, "yes well to answer your question, Jacob asked me to tell you. He felt like you should know the dangers."
I sigh, "let me guess, we're gonna go and meet him, so he can tell us about it all."
"Well, I already know a lot," she states, "but yes."
"Okay," I reply, "let's go."

We walk into Jake's workshop.
"Jake, are you here?" Bella calls out.
"Yeah."
He then emerges, "Hey girls."
I smile at him, "Hey Jake, so you're a werewolf."
He nods, "yes I am."
"So those mysterious hikers that have been disappearing?" I ask.
He shakes his head, "we kill vampires, but we protect humans."
My eyes widen.
He smirks, "don't worry, we can't harm your precious Cullen's."
I breathe in a sigh of relief.
"Because of the treaty right?" I question.
He nods, "you've been doing your homework."
I grin, "please Bella told me the story, you told her nearly a year ago."
He smiles, "so you can remember the story but Bella can't."
I laugh, "sounds about right."
Bella, then speaks up, "they killed Laurent."
My eyes snap to catch hers, "I thought he was up in Alaska."
She shakes her head, "he came back to find me. To kill me. He was then gonna kill you too."
I stare at her in shock, "what!?"
She nods, "he came as a favour for Victoria."
I sigh, "we both knew this was gonna happen one day."
"Yes, but we thought, she was gonna kill Ashton and Edward," Bella states.
Jake then speaks up, "instead, she wants to kill both of you."
"Is this why I was allowed to know your secret?" I ask.
He nods, "Sam, thought it would be best for your protection, if you knew the truth."
I nod.
"But you can't tell anyone," he states.
"I understand."
"Now you two better get home, the pack and I will continue searching for Victoria," Jake explains.
We nod, and walk back to Bella's truck.

We pull up in front of Bella's to find lots of police cars outside my house.
Confused we both get out, I spot someone taking out a body bag from my front door, obviously containing a dead body.
Shocked I start to run over.
I'm caught in the arms of someone. They hold me tightly.
The person speaks up, "Melody, you can't go in there I'm afraid."
I look at Charlie, "why not?"
He looks at me sympathetic.
The realisation hits me.
"Noooo," I scream, tears pooling my eyes.
"I'm sorry Melody," Charlie states.
Bella stands behind me, tears staining her cheeks.
"Where are they?" I snap.
He stays silent.
I begin to breakdown in his arms.
I then whimper, "where are my parents Charlie."
He sighs, "they're are dead, Melody."
I let out sobs, as Bella hugs me tightly. I stare at my house watching as the coroners carry out another person.
"They were murdered."
