A week passed quickly a couple more dates happened a few more kisses and waves of butterflies. The weekend I stayed inside my dorm due to the immense pain my body was in. I had also found out she didn't run on the weekend since it was bad for the knees to run seventy miles a week. To top it off I was experiencing the worst cramps ever, she kept calling but I couldn't answer. I didn't want her to come over and see me like this, seeing me bare faced and drooling was one thing. But to see me with breakouts and in pain? Nah, I'd see her sometime during the week.

So Monday rolled by, I was still bleeding and in pain and she wanted to take me on a walk. But I couldn't, I prayed that she'd catch on that I was on my period. But no, she got this look on her face as if I just shot her down. It was actually the worst so I for once impulsively made a plan for the next morning. To get breakfast before my shift at nine am, and it went more than well.

I knew I couldn't have a week full of dates with her like last week since I had more assignments due. I needed to work and study, that's why I was in college not for a girl. But I couldn't help myself, I went out with her again the next day when my pain was almost non existent. We went for that small walk around the city and we talked about anything. I found out she applied for an internship somewhere in Seattle but they haven't got back to her yet.

She was a sophomore and knew what she wanted, I loved how she went after the things she wanted. I couldn't help but wonder if I was one of those things. The simple thought gave me a colossal wave of tingles and giddiness. The feeling of her fingers intertwined with mine was something I didn't think I'd get over. I really haven't met anyone who made me feel this way, she could do or be anything and it wouldn't scare me away.

The shyness was definitely still there, I could barely hold her hand without freaking out or thinking too much. Even when it was clear she liked me as much as I liked her. Like, as we walked through the city until late night we took one of our first pictures together and I flipped out inside. When I had gotten home I fucking switched that to my lock screen so fast. I felt like a normal teenager now, I finally had someone to share a screen with.

Dumb but it made my heart happy.

Thursday was filled with phone calls and studying while she was in her room as we caught up on different subjects. I remember how it rained and the one thing she knew is that I didn't like the thunder. It reminded me of when I was a kid and when storms got bad a hurricane would be coming. I didn't like that fear, even if I now lived in the middle of a forested state. It was still an irrational fear.

She then shared that she didn't like storms either since a tornado could've come down any time. Our small fears were shared and I never knew how that little thing comforted me so much. I had someone I could go to if I got too scared. So did she. She understood me and wouldn't judge me, maybe I had overreacted with the period thing. It wasn't like she didn't get them too.

So currently, today, I was begging she'd come into my work so it would be a little better. I had stayed up till almost two am trying to finish my assignments from last week. Then only realized I had a work shift today at six am which I was dreading. I didn't realize how fast time was going and now I was gonna need to depend on the coffee.

Trying to keep a smile on my face as grumpy tired students walked in and ordered. I wasn't making any coffee until Dinah comes in so I was just taking orders. I had to speak to all the customers and it was the worst. It wasn't as bad as Monday but I was still lucky I wasn't a violent person. When Austin had taken the wrong coffee to someone I was the one to pay for it.

I had already been cussed out and it wasn't even lunch time yet, I wanted to go home already. I didn't wanna be here unless I had a cute girl to look at. But hours went by and Y/N never came in for her morning coffee. My day was getting even worse as more kids were snapping that wasn't even my fault.

I took a deep breath as I counted each person who had any attitude and it was about five so far. I looked up at the cute analog clock and seen it was about ten thirty. I pushed back from the counter as I took Austin's coffee he was drinking.

"Mila." He pouted as I drank his coffee as I heard the door open again.

"I have a break in fifteen minutes and I need everything I can consume so I don't pass out... or kill someone." I let out and he laughed causing me to look at him.

"I'm not even joking." I lightly chuckled with him and he smirked.

"I can wake you." He leaned against the counter as I felt someone walk up.

My eyes narrowed at him and he got closer to my face, "You'll be the first to get murdered!" I hissed and he laughed as he walked back over to the espresso machine.

"I'll make you a triple shot." He winked and I rolled my eyes as I felt a presence.

"Hiii welcome to Casper's Joe-"

"Hi!" I quickly stopped myself and cleared my throat when my eyes connected with Y/N's.

"Hey." She giggled and I immediately noticed she was with her roommates and someone else.

"Hey Camila." Hayley smiled at me and returned the gesture.

"How are you guys? What can I get for you guys?" I tried to make conversation and also do my job.

But I couldn't help but look at the girl that I haven't met and gave her a small smile.

"I just want some tea, I feel like a healed spirit today." Lauren spoke goofily and Willow nodded with her.

"I need my spirit to be healed." Willow mumbled and Y/N cleared her throat.

Y/N stepped closer to the counter, "My latte please." She sang as she pulled out her wallet and I giggled.

"Dua? Hayley?" I questioned and they kept looking into the glass display.

"I want a biscuit-"

"It's a cookie you British fool." Lauren hissed playfully and Dua giggled deeply as she wrapped her arm around her.

"I purposely said it just for you." Dua cackled and Hayley pouted against Lauren's shoulder.

"I want a brownie." Hayley looked towards the glass then up at me, "Can I get one, and an iced coffee?"

"What kind of coffee?" I asked and she suddenly looked away.

"Uh.. shit, uhm-"

"She'll just get an iced macchiato." Y/N spoke up and I noticed she was kinda stand offish but it was probably cause she was in front of her friends.

"Yeah-"

"Could you make it though? I wanna know the hype about your coffee." Dua asked me then started to laugh with Lauren and Hayley.

Y/N cleared her throat again and shifted on her feet while the unknown girl stepped up, "Yeah, yeah I'll make it." I giggled as I put in their orders.

"And you? What would you like?" I smiled and the girl bit her lip as she looked around.

"This place is so cute, I'm surprised I haven't come in here." The girl spoke and then she looked at Y/N.

She then grabbed her arm softly and tilted her head, "What do you usually get again?" She asked the girl that was constantly on my mind.

I didn't know why but my heart sort of dropped and I breathed in slowly. I blinked repeatedly as I looked away while my smile grew, "Uh.. a latte." Y/N suddenly crossed her arms and Lauren whispered something into Hayley's ear.

"I like more coffee in my drink- I'll get a cappuccino." She smiled as she continued to hold onto Y/N's arm.

My heart started to pound and I let out a breathy laugh as I put in another order.

"You guys want this separate or who's paying?" I asked as I looked up and Y/N leaned against the counter.

"I'll pay." She mumbled and I hummed as I looked past her.

"You guys sure? I think we've all seen her truck." I joked and Lauren bursted out laughing with Willow.

Y/N giggled and Austin stood by with his arms crossed, I looked at him and he raised his eyebrows at me.

"You can have all of this." He flirted sensing my discomfort of the girl hanging all over Y/N.

I snorted, "All of what?" I joked knowing he was joking as usual.

He was never serious. Which was one of the reasons why I would never get with him officially. Let alone any girl around. He laughed to himself and checked the time, "Dinah should be coming in any minute now, hopefully she isn't late. I don't wanna be here." He admitted and I switched places with him.

"You're telling me." I chuckled and he rang them up while I started to make their orders.

First I handed Dua her cookie that she pointed out and Hayley her brownie. I made Hayley's iced coffee first then handed out the iced teas just to make Y/N's latte. I had almost forgot to make the cappuccino for whoever she was but got it to her anyway. Hayley quickly sipped down her drink just to gasp.

"Camila! You're the one!" She dramatically yelled out causing the other customers to send us disapproving looks.

"Relax." I giggled and the girl drank some of hers, "Is it okay?" I asked them as I wiped down the counter.

I hated when some of the coffee spilled down the mug, I also hated this day. It wasn't exactly in my favor, but whatever. Something had to be a good today, it's only lunch time.

"You should have some." The girl suggested towards Y/N and Lauren gave Dua a look causing Willow to snort.

"Uh I'm good Haley." She cleared her throat and chuckled softly before turning around.

"The coffee is great as usual pretty." She finally acknowledged me as someone more in her life and I hummed.

"Of course it is." I retorted smoothly and Willow smirked my way as Lauren silently laughed to herself.

I visibly saw Y/N gulp and tense up as I checked the time, "I'm going on my break, I'll call Dinah and ask her where the hell she's at." I informed Austin and he groaned out.

"Fine." He huffed and I slid off my apron just to toss it into the back room.

"How about a kiss for your absence?" He lightly teased and I stared at him knowing he was being a smart ass.

"You're funny." I laughed and suddenly punched his arm causing him to hiss.

He then started to laugh as I walked off and out the store, I didn't look back. I didn't take any stolen glances towards the girl I liked so much. Not when some random girl was still on her arm. I wasn't jealous, I just felt uncomfortable. It was just weird to see that the girl I've been kissing for the last week and a half was okay with someone hanging on her. But it was fine, I guess. I mean, I hang over Shawn or put up with Austin's flirty ways.

But I couldn't but think about how that girl looked, cause holy damn she really was pretty. Perfect white teeth, green eyes, slim and was exactly my height. Her smile was literally perfect-

My thoughts were cut off when the door chimed again and I looked up when someone leaned against the wall next to me. I slightly jumped when she abruptly stood next to me and I held my phone in my hands.

"Hi?" I questioned at the beautiful girl next to me.

"The girls and I are going to a movie." Y/N stated and I tried so hard not to have any attitude, it was a shit day I didn't have to take it out on her.

I just felt irritated with her though.

"That's nice." I nodded and looked down at my phone to call Dinah.

"You should come." She added and it almost felt like it was forced.

But it could just be the day of negative vibes speaking, "I'm at work." I frowned as I kept back the obvious tone.

"Yeah, but we can hang out here until you get off? When do you get off-"

"Twelve." I wet my lips and she suddenly breathed in as she looked around.

I turned back to my phone to text Dinah and clenched my jaw so I wouldn't sarcastically laugh, "You should have fun with your friends." I sucked it up and gave her a small smile after I hit send.

"I want you to come." She mumbled and I continued to smile.

"No, you had almost the entire two weeks with me. You should spend time with your friends. You know my boring self will be in the same two spots anyway." I mentioned and she stared me down as if she were analyzing me.

"You sure? Because I can totally stay here with you if you don't wanna go-"

"Y/N. I'm fine, go." I patted her arm which was extremely awkward for me.

Ew, I wouldn't even do that with one of my own friends. As I started to walk past her while she scratched her head in confusion I heard a yell.

"I'm here! I'm here! I promise I'm not late!" I heard Dinah yell from down the street and I thanked God I didn't have to work so close to Austin any longer.

"Thank you so much." I grabbed her hand and she suddenly hugged me.

"I missed you." She grumbled and shook me causing me to giggle.

See, one good thing could happen today.

"You literally saw me yesterday." I laughed and I kept my eyes on her and not the awkward beauty five feet away from me.

"Have you not seen your ass? It's hard not to miss. She definitely has- hey, coffee cutie!" She suddenly waved and I giggled shaking my head.

"Oh, hey Dinah." Y/NN softly smiled but there was some softness coming from her voice.

Like, too soft, as if she were sad or disappointed.

"Is it busy?" She asked me and I shrugged.

"It was." I opened the door and let her walk in while I followed her.

I just wanted my shift to be over.

We walked behind the counter and I noticed Hayley rushing up from her seat with Willow. I looked up to see Y/N slowly pacing in front of the store. Then they both slammed their arms against the counter which surprisingly didn't make much sound.

"You okay?"

"Yeah, you good?" Willow asked after Hayley and I chuckled awkwardly.

"Yeah? Why wouldn't I be?" I asked as I slowly moved their arms off the counter.

"Uh.." Hayley started but Willow softly nudged her.

"You should come with us to the movies, Y/N wanted to ask you earlier but she was held up." Willow tilted her head towards Y/N who was now just standing in one place.

"Uh I'm okay, I would want her to have fun with you guys alone. I also definitely wouldn't wanna be like a seventh wheel." I laughed whatever I was feeling off, "Let alone a third wheel." I commented mostly to myself and wiped down the counter again.

Hayley glanced at Willow and the girl with the bullring piercing bit her cheek, "Trust us you won't be. At all. You'd be saving us." Willow almost begged but I really didn't want to.

"Maybe next time guys." I gave them a small smile and they softly groaned.

"What is up with the name Haley around here? It's like contagious almost." I joked and they cracked a smile, "You spend two years here and have to immediately change it to Haley."

"We have a friend who works in LA named Hailey too." Hayley casually informed me and I smiled.

"You'll always be the best Hayley." I pinched her cheek and she cheesed cutely.

"You're my favorite person now-"

"Wow." I heard a familiar voice, "And I was gonna take the rest of your shift too." I heard her and I giggled deeply.

"Haileeee." I called out and she giggled softly before reaching around and smacking my ass.

"Shut up you can't choose to love me now."

"Relatable." I mumbled out a laugh and she sighed.

"Okay, but I do need the hours so I'm clocking in. If you want, you can go home I'll clock you out at twelve. I won't tell anyone." She winked and I grabbed her dramatically.

"Thank you so much."

"Mhm, now you want me." She scoffed and I giggled with the girls.

"Relatable again." I spoke as I walked towards the back to grab my apron.

I couldn't have it laying on the floor, Casper would know something. So as I quickly got ready to get the hell out of here I heard Austin groan out loudly. I peeked my head out as I let my hair down. I didn't like my hair in a tight ponytail, but Shawn had quickly helped me as I brushed my teeth this morning.

All he was doing was yawning and stretching causing me to roll my eyes, "Hey!" He pointed my way.

"What?" I frowned and his shoulders slumped forward.

"Can I walk you home?" He asks in a pout and I knew exactly what he was doing.

"...No." I squinted my eyes at him and shook my head in confusion.

"But I like you." He joked and I continued to walk towards the door.

"I don't care."

"Why are you so grumpy today! Where is my Camila?!" He yelled out and I marched back towards him.

I grabbed him by his ear as customers watched, "You're gonna get fired if you keep disturbing everyone." I pulled him away seeing as we both had finished our shifts.

"So I can walk you home now?"

"No."
