I can instantly tell that sorry is not what Rage wants to hear when he just walked in on his girlfriend and her best friend having a goddamn makeout session, or that's probably what it looked like to him. He doesn't get context for it, meaning that, to him, it looks like cheating.
But the dumbass questions from my side don't stop, surprisingly. It makes me look even more like a cheater.
"Since when did you get here?!" I shriek slightly, my eyes wide.
"Ever since 'I'll give you the first one' and something something," Rage replies, shrugging coolly. For someone who just witnessed some acute form of adultery, he doesn't seem that phased at all. In fact, he seems more disturbed that we'd do it in a public place, where people would tend to be eating.
"Oh," I mutter, looking down. I bet my face would burst into flames instantly if someone lit a match on me. Will is still silent, as if he's dumbfounded. Even though he's not Rage's number one supporter, he still understands how fucked up everything is.
You'd think at this point, I'd realise how crazy my questions are, and you're right, I realise. So I move onto statements.
"It's not what you think," I mutter, unable to meet Rage's eyes.
"I don't like seeing this shit when I'm drinking my fuckin' coffee," Rage replies, taking another ginger sip of his coffee.
I really don't feel good right now, so I stand up and head out of the lounge without looking back.
