—RAIN—
- freezes.
- like, dead stop. he's spending the next few moments processing what he just did and 'oh my satan she's gonna yell, and scream, and swat, and-'
- and then he starts reacting the way you're reacting. if you're crying, he's crying. if you're quiet, he's quiet. if you're yelling, then- well then he's cowering and praying to satan you won't leave him.
you laughed as rain told you a story from one of the tours, his hands gesturing wildly as he did so.
you grinned, looking over at your boyfriend only to get whacked in the face by one of his flailing hands.
you yelped, quickly holding your nose as tears welled in your eyes from the impact.
after a moment, you whimpered, the pain of the impact hitting you hard as you realized you'd probably be bruised from the hit.
as you felt tears run from your eyes, you felt something run from your nose as well. you moved your hand to your cupid's bow, looking at your fingers.
blood.
you glanced up at rain after, your eyes softening as you saw rain's eyes wide, tears welling making his eyes glossy.
"oh, lucifer.." rain whispered, his voice cracking slightly. "r-rain, it's okay. it was just an accident-" you tried to reassure your ghoul, though you cringed at the taste of blood in your mouth, your nose scrunching which only made you whimper from the pain.
"oh, lucifer!" rain cried, hurrying forward and quickly cupping your face swiping his thumb under your nose to stop the blood, but it just speared the metallic substance across your face.
rain's cries turned to sobs as he frantically wiped at the blood. though as his cries became more intense, his form crumbled and he was holding himself up with his hands on your shoulders, his forehead pressed to your collar bone.
rain sobbed out pleas for you not to leave him and that it was an accident. he would never hurt you. he couldn't handle it.
rain promised himself he'd never hurt you, and now look at what happened. he smacked you in the face because he couldn't contain his excitement.
"rain.. hey, raindrop.." you whispered, finally regaining your bearings as you cupped the water ghoul's cheek and guided him to look up at you.
your ghoul made brief eye contact before he sniffled, shaking his head and closing his eyes tightly.
—MOUNTAIN—
- swiss had been following around him all day, angering the earth ghoul.
- mountain hadn't had a moment of peace and it was getting to him.
- so when you showed up at the tree, he thought swiss had followed him there too and he snapped.
swiss had told you that he had pissed off mountain really bad, and told you that he was going off the way that your tree was.
you immediately made your way there, knowing that mountain wouldn't benefit from being alone while angry.
except, what you didn't know, is that was exactly what he needed.

you frowned as you saw mountain sitting against the tree, curled up into himself as he tried to calm his breathing down.
you quickly made your way over, not noticing the earth ghoul's tail twitch at the sound of your footsteps.
mountain whipped around, his claws extended as he reached out and swiped at your leg. you yelped, jumping back.
you stumbled slightly as you stepped backwards, not being able to tell how deep mountain had gone.
your eyes were wide as mountain panted heavily, just now looking up to meet your eyes. as he did so, you watched his anger turn to panic.
"y/n.." mountain whispered. you whimpered as you leaned on your injured leg for a moment, making you fall to the ground.
mountain was quick to lunge forward, making you land in his lap instead of the ground as he wrapped his arms around you.
"satan, y/n, i'm so sorry, love.." mountain breathed, placing his hand over your leg and applying pressure.
you just shook your head, leaning into the earth ghoul as you tried not to cry. you were hurt, you were scared, you were confused. it was all too much to process.
'get to the tree. bring medical supplies.' mountain sent a mental message to swiss, strengthening the pressure he had on your leg as he hugged you, whispering apologies as he held back tears.
"i'm so sorry, love." mountain whispered. you shook your head again, closing your eyes as you felt yourself slip into a void like state, your body protecting your consciousness.
what felt like seconds later, you heard swiss' voice.
"what the hell happened?" the multi-ghoul asked, rushing over and quickly pulling out some gauze. mountain just shook his head, setting his jaw as he hugged you tightly and moved his bloodied hand from your ankle.
swiss was quick to wrap your leg, making sure to tie it right so there wouldn't be as much blood flow.
swiss helped mountain bring you to your feet, wrapping your arm around his shoulders as the earth ghoul held your waist.
the walk to the ministry was grueling. though after getting treated by the matron, mountain brought you back to your shared room and held you tight, not letting you go as guilt washed over him.
—AETHER—
- again, he was already pissed off.
- dew had been being dew and aether was tired of it.
- when you walked behind him to get to your usual spot at dinner the toe of your shoe clipped his tail and aether snapped, not even bothering to look at who he was attacking before he lunged.
as you walked into the dining hall, you made eye contact with secondo who was at the head table. you smiled and waved, getting a small smile and a nod in return.
you looked over at your usual table, seeing everyone looking relatively tense as they all glanced at aether every now and then.
dew looked quiet, a clear giveaway that he had done something and aether had yelled at him.
you shuffled over, smiling at cirrus you looked relieved by your presence.
though, that glance at her made you stop looking where you were walking, making your shoe clip the spade of aether's tail.
aether tensed and whipped around, lunging out of his seat at you and tackling you to the ground.
you yelped as your head hit the stone floor, swiss and mountain quickly rising to their feet and ripping aether off of you as he growled.
"pull yourself together!" mountain yelled as a scene was made, dew and rain quickly being by your side as you whimpered, dizzy from the impact with the floor.
"shh, it's okay. just stay still." rain whispered as he moved his hand under your head, his palm acting as a pillow as dew held you down.
aether's eyes widened as he saw you on the ground, all his rage slipping from his body as swiss and mountain dragged him away.
"w-wait! no, let me go!" aether struggled against the two ghouls, both of their earthen energy seeping into his system to get him to relax, though it didn't seem to work all that much.
the area around the band ghoul's table had quickly been cleared, the band ghouls who weren't involved clearing the area of ghouls and siblings of sin as secondo rushed over, copia close behind.
rain looked up at the second papa, his eyes showing worry as you close your eyes, a headache hitting you hard.
"mellitula?" secondo whispered, kneeling by your side as dew moved out of the way. "dew, what happened?" secondo asked, looking up at the fire ghoul, his tone and his gaze harsh.
you eyes fluttered open as dew went to speak, your hand reaching out and grabbing onto secondo's.
"i'm okay." you whispered, trying to ignore the pounding in your head and the feeling of scraped skin on your back and shoulders. rain and secondo looked down at you, the water ghoul frowning as he noticed how much paler you looked.
"what happened, amor meus?" copia asked, looking over secondo's shoulder at you. you swallowed slightly, closing your eyes again as the light became too much for your headache.
"a-aether, he-" you whispered, though you were cut off by the second papa. "that damned ghoul." secondo growled, quickly standing. "take her to the infirmary." secondo demanded, barely even glancing over his shoulder as he stormed off to find the quintessence ghoul.
—SWISS—
- he hit you in the eye with a paper airplane.
- not on purpose, obviously.
- he still felt bad, though.
you hummed to yourself as you walked into the common room, looking up from your phone, only to get hit in the eye with something.
you flinched, yelping slightly as you brought your hand up to your eye.
"oh, shit." dew's jaw dropped as swiss froze, his arm still extended from throwing the paper airplane that had hit you.
it was worse, though. swiss had put a couple coins in the folds of the plane to make it dive faster, which surely hurt against an eye socket.
you opened your good eye, slightly squinting as you looked at your boyfriend and the fire ghoul.
"good luck." dew patted swiss on the shoulder before rushing out of the common room, whispering an apology to you as he walked by.
"are you okay?" swiss asked as his shock wore off, his shoes loudly shuffling against the ground as he walked over to you quickly. you nodded.
"i think so. it startled me more than anything," you chuckled, pulling your hand away from your eye as you blinked rapidly.
swiss winced slightly as he already saw a bruise forming. he was right about the coins causing more damage than good.
"do you need ice? i'm really sorry, baby." swiss apologized, cupping your face and brushing his thumb against the bruise.
"no, i'm okay. what hit me, anyway?" you asked, looking down at your feet. though, as you caught a glimpse of something, swiss stomped on it, kicking it away after.
"nothing-! ahem, nothing. dew and i were just being stupid." swiss shook his head, pulling you into a hug. you chuckled slightly, hugging your ghoul back.
—DEW—
- since he's so explosive, dew made it a point to himself that he'd never hurt you.
- ever.
- like, it's obsessive and compulsive how much he pays attention to how he treats you to make sure he never hurts you.
- of course there's always accidents, but there's less with dew.
you laughed as you and dew play fought in your room, dew picking you up and throwing you onto the bed, crawling onto the mattress after.
you grinned, dew smiling back at you and grabbing your waist, moving you up the bed.
though, you caught yourself weird as dew let you back down, your arm slightly giving out as a shooting pain went from your elbow to your collar bone.
"ow.." you whimpered, quickly removing pressure from your arm as you looked down at your elbow. dew's eyes widened as he stopped dead.
"what? what happened?" dew asked, looking at your arm before tilting his head so he could make eye contact with you.
"nothing, i just landed weird. i-i'm okay." you smiled, shaking your arm out. "are you sure? i didn't do anything?" dew asked, panic slightly obvious in his eyes. your smile softened as you reached out and cupped his cheek.
"you didn't do anything, i promise." you assured your fire ghoul. dew paused for a moment before nodding, smiling hesitantly at you as he leaned forward and pressed a short kiss to your lips.
you frowned.
"hey, are you okay?" you asked as dew crawled up the bed more and laid down beside you. dew nodded, wrapping his arms around you.
"i just worry about you. i don't want to screw up and hurt you." dew mumbled, leaning into your chest as he spoke against your collar bone. your heart melted.
"you have nothing to worry about, dew. i'm okay and i know you'd never hurt me on purpose." you whispered. dew smiled a bit more confidently and nodded, hugging you tightly.
