—RAIN—
- he didn't. dew did.
- well.. kind of.
- at first, rain thought he just really wanted to be friends with you, but as time when on, and he introduced you to the rest of the ghouls? they knew he was falling hard.
- the ghoulettes wanted rain to figure it out for himself, somehow managing to convince everyone else that it was best for rain. well, everyone but dew.
- the fire ghoul listened to one certain conversation and knew—he just knew—that rain had to realize then and there his feelings for you.
you and rain laughed with one another, your head rested on the water ghoul's lap. rain was running his clawed fingers through your hair, smiling down at you as you both conversed at another party the ghouls had thrown.
"so," you started, not exactly thinking completely straight due to the few drinks you'd had. "are you into any ghoulettes?" you asked. rain froze, caught off guard.
"no. i don't think so." rain eventually answered. "you don't think so? how do you not know if you're into someone or not?" you laughed, rain noticing a sparkle in your eyes, his stomach churning as he did so.
"i dunno," rain laughed. "i guess i'm not sure what it feels like to like someone like that." rain shrugged. you looked up at him, smiling softly as you made eye contact with his bright blue eyes.
"well," you started in a matter-of-fact voice, "you'll, like, always be thinking about them." you grinned. immediately, your name came to rain's mind. "and you probably just thought of them just now." you stated, acting like you knew everything about love.
rain rose a brow, curious as to how you knew he just thought of someone.. thought of you.
"you'll obviously like to hang out with them and be near them all the time. you don't seem to mind touching me so you'll probably like physical contact too." you shrugged, tilting your nose to the ceiling as you closed your eyes, enjoying the feeling of rain's fingers gliding over your scalp.
"you probably listen to every single thing they say, giving them your undivided attention. i assume you'd smile to yourself whenever they come into the room. it's just little things like that." you explained, shrugging at the end.
rain went over everything in his mind, checking the boxes as he thought of times that he had experienced everything you just explained because of you.
"and most people wake up thinking about someone they like." you finished.
rain's heart dropped to the floor yet also started soaring, his eyes wide as his jaw dropped slightly.
he likes you.
rain..
rain likes you.
oh my satan.
you laughed to yourself, getting up out of rain's lap and kissing him on the cheek. "let me know if you think of anyone! i'd love to set you up~" you teased, laughing as you walked away to find f/n.
"you like her." dew stated, seemingly appearing next to the water ghoul. rain swallowed harshly, a furious blush covering his cheeks.
"yeah.. i gathered that already.."
—MOUNTAIN—
- mountain always found you beautiful. even more so when you brushed past how crazy he seemed at first.
- it was during a dinner that mountain had invited you to.
- you were simply talking to all of his friends and it just clicked in his mind.
- he likes you. no. he loves you.
aether laughed at something you had said, looking at mountain to see how he was doing.
though, what aether saw made him smile even wider as he jabbed swiss in the side, pointing at the earth ghoul after.
mountain was staring at you, cradling his chin in his palm as his eyes widened slightly, his lips parting. after a moment, mountain blushed noticeably as he quickly looked down at his food, shoveling some into his mouth.
aether looked over at swiss, raising an eyebrow to see if the multi-ghoul had caught on. swiss grinned, nodding at aether as he chuckled to himself.
"mountain?" you asked. aether looked over, his eyes widening slightly. you placed your hand on mountain's shoulder, making him choke slightly as he turned away from you. "are you okay?" you continued, tilting your head as you tried to make eye contact with him.
mountain nodded hastily, tossing his fork down as he covered his face with his arms, coughing.
rain patted mountain's back, the earth ghoul nodding in thanks as he calmed down slightly.
"what was that?" you asked as mountain finished chewing his food. "n-nothing! it's fine- i'm all good." mountain stumbled, smiling at you nervously. "o-.. okay." you smiled back, nodding.
aether looked over at swiss again, smirking. swiss' grin turned into a smirk just like aether's as they both plotted, coming up with a plan to get you and mountain together.
—AETHER—
- love at first sight, i'm telling you.
- it was the way your hair fell into your eyes—it was the way you looked between both the books, easily translating everything in the first—it was the way that you apologized for calling him 'ghoul' when you didn't know his name; any of the other members of the ministry not even having a second thought about calling him that.
- everything you did when you first interacted with him set his heart aflame.
- aether knew that these weren't small feelings. this wasn't puppy love. this was true, burning, passionate, eternal love. getting to know you just made him even more sure.
—SWISS—
- swiss thinks it was the second time you stood up to imperator for him. though, that time it was actually his fault.
- you didn't think twice about defending him and that just made the butterflies in his stomach flutter faster.
- maybe he was into powerful, badass women. maybe he was into knowing that if she wanted to, the woman he loved could easily destroy his entire being. he'd never admit that out loud though..
- but also, when you turned around and hugged him, sensing he was put off by being scolded by imperator, he melted.
- you could risk your social life for him and yell at the head of the ministry then not even think about yourself. only if he was okay.
- and swiss loved that. he lived for that. he lived for you.
"please, sister, i'm sure swiss missing a meeting because he forgot won't matter. hell, you've missed some of the most important meetings that the church has and you brush it off as if it's nothing. this was a week planning meeting, sister. i'm sure his dark excellency does not mind." you scoffed, getting entirely fed up with the egotistical woman.
swiss was cowered behind you, his tail dropping as sister stared at you in utter shock.
"all this over a ghoul? you do know that any relations between ghouls and siblings of sin are highly punishable!" imperator exclaimed.
"are they? because last i heard, most of the higher clergy were fucking a lot of the ghouls. if i'm not mistaken, you tried as well." your eyes narrowed at the woman.
"satanas, y/n, please be quiet.." swiss begged, fearing for your place in the church. though he knew imperator would never kick you out [she couldn't if she tried due to your relationship with copia], your short temper with the sister really scared him.
sister imperator froze as some passing by siblings of sin and ghouls as stared, shock evident on their faces.
"you heaven worshiping, little rat-!" sister seethed, though she was cut off by copia coming up to you, swiss, and sister imperator.
"sister? is there a problem here?" copia asked. immediately, the hall was cleared off all ghouls and siblings of sin. they got their gossip, they didn't want to be there for the wrath sister imperator was in danger of facing from copia.
"papa!" sister exclaimed, whipping around to face copia. the fourth papa rose a brow at the name she had called him. hadn't sister said she couldn't call him 'papa?'
"no there isn't a problem, i was simply explaining the rules of the ministry to this ghoul and sister of sin." imperator smiled forcefully. papa hummed, glancing to you and swiss, who was still cowered behind your body, his hands gripping your waist.
"then that will be all, sister. i'm sure you have things to do since you missed the last meeting where we spoke of the rituals that we have to perform this year." papa smiled bitterly. sister imperator nodded, bowing slightly before hurrying off. papa looked back to you and swiss, winking before spinning on his heel and turning the corner.
you sighed in relief, turning around to face swiss and hugging him tightly. swiss shuddered slightly, hugging you back.
his body was on fire as he tried to hide the blush on his face, his stomach doing flips as his knees tried to buckle.
"you absolute crazy woman.." swiss whispered, making you laugh.
—DEW—
- you beat him in truth or dare.
- that's literally it.
- you asked him to call the cutest girl he knew, and after some thinking, he realized that you were the cutest girl he knew.
- no way he was going to admit that to you moments after realizing himself.
- you were more badass than him that day and he was wrapped around your finger.
"hmm.. i dare you to send aether a booty call." dew smirked, not knowing if you'd agree or not. he was pretty sure you wouldn't, seeing as you and aether were practically siblings. imagine the fire ghoul's surprise when you picked up your phone and began typing away.
dew's jaw dropped as swiss began cackling, throwing his head back as he leaned against mountain.
you sent the message, smirking at dew as a loud crash was heard from aether's room down the hall.
"WHO THE HELL DARED Y/N TO TEXT ME 'you looked really hot today. come to my room-" 'WINKY FACE'" aether yelled, swinging his door open.
you laughed, throwing your head back and holding your stomach as dew stared at you completely baffled.
"it's y/n's turn," rain grinned, leaning against mountain as well as he watched you and dew stare at each other.
"truth or dare?" you grinned, leaning forward. dew did the same, smirking. "dare." he answered. you hummed, raising a brow at the fire ghoul.
"i wonder what she's gonna say.." swiss whispered to mountain and rain.
"i dare you to call the cutest girl you know." you challenged, knowing it wasn't very intense. swiss groaned.
"that's so boring!" the multi-ghoul complained. "oh shut up, swiss." mountain scoffed, rolling his eyes with a grin.
dew shrugged, pulling his phone from his pocket and scrolling through his contacts.
he didn't have many girls in his phone, so as he went through all of them, none of them checked the boxes that he had in his mind for 'cutest girl.'
well.. until he got to you.
dew froze, staring at his phone as realization dawned on him.
the way that your every body movement had him mesmerized—the way that you gave him the smallest touches and it still set his skin alight.
dew's stomach dropped as he swallowed harshly.
i like y/n.. he thought.
"i.. i can't." dew stated after a moment, turning his phone off and placing it face down in his lap. swiss' jaw dropped as rain's eyebrows rose. you tilted your head.
"what do you say then?" you asked, grinning. "you've proven yourself as the champion of truth or dare this week." dew grumbled. you cheered, happy that you finally won that title as mountain, rain, and swiss all congratulated you.
dew watched as you smiled happily, pride writing in every aspect of your being at the moment.
he smiled softly to himself, looking back down at his phone and picking it up, changing your contact name to 'one and only.'
dew knew he was in deep. and he wasn't going to deny it any longer.
