BACK TO YOU
"Such a good girl."

Eloise-Anne

The couch is very comfortable, especially since I can use Michael as my personal pillow. He's been my best friend for as long as I can remember, and ever since, he's also been my favorite pillow. It's almost a miracle he let me since he always complains about it. His hands are slowly running through my hair, and it feels more than amazing. I don't have a boyfriend to do it for me, and Michael always does it unconsciously. I close my eyes briefly, enjoying the moment, but Michael clears his throat immediately, pushing me off him. He stands up and looks at me.

His green eyes are beautiful, and his dirty blonde locks suit him more than any other hair color he's ever had. They all looked great on him, but I really like the dirty blonde locks. It looks more mature on him, and since he has a trimmed beard now, it seems even more mature. I'd almost say he's daddy, but I wouldn't. That's a lie, though. To annoy him, I call him daddy sometimes. Little did I know he would look like one someday. Another excellent nickname for him is bigfoot because the man has big feet.

"I was thinking; maybe we can share a dorm on campus together?" He says, a bit unsure. "I've been looking around, and I think you'd like it a lot. We've saved a lot of money for it, and it's better than the forty-minute drive every morning." He says, pitying himself. "Or just a house or apartment, anything, so I don't have to be sitting next to you for forty minutes, hearing you complain about how I should drive slower."

It takes forty minutes to get to uni, and it's honestly exhausting. I always do my make-up in the car since I don't want to hurry. Michael loves to drive, so there's no problem with that. But with the gas prices being so high lately, we could already have our apartment.

I want nothing more than to share a dorm with him. We've been wanting that for ages, but my parents don't want me to leave the house. I'm twenty-one, and I'm very capable of making those choices myself, I think. They don't want me to leave the house. When it comes down to Calum, they would've let him leave the house at the mere age of fifteen.

"I really want to, Mike," I tell him. He already sighs, knowing there's going to be a 'but'. "My parents just won't let me; you know how they are." He sits back down on the couch. "But if we find ourselves a dorm, we have to reserve it somehow, okay? They can't back down on it when it's already been bought." I smirk.

"Such a good girl." He says cheekily. "Or, well, I could say bad girl as well."

"Oh, piss off." I laugh. Such as, he hates it when I call him daddy, and I wouldn't say I like it when he calls me a good girl. I find it horrible to hear, such as in movies. It makes me cringe on a level that I didn't know existed. I rest my head on his shoulder once again, and he tickles my shoulder this time. He zaps through some channels on the TV and stops when he sees the cartoon South Park. Yet I close my eyes again, feeling my muscles relax under his touch.

Suddenly the door falls open with a loud sound, and I sit straight up. Calum walks into the room with Ashton. Calum and Ashton have been friends since high school and shared the same interests. Lucky for them, they both got accepted into the uni they wanted to get into. Now they're inseparable. How adorable.

"You know Ashton already, but this is Luke, another great friend of mine." My eyes drift to the door opening, where Luke walks in. My brother smiles at me, happy for me to meet yet another one of his friends. Calum loves introducing people to me. He wants his friends to be friends with me; if they can't, they can't be his friends. He made this rule when he was very little because he hated how people treated me through high school.

My eyes fall on the tall blonde behind Ashton. You would almost think they're brothers with their similarities. But somehow, they look too different to actually be brothers.

Calum has always had this thing that somehow his best friends are very attractive, and it's not such a good thing since I can never have a thing for them. Calum has this thing in which he wants his friends to become my friends as well, but I have this thing that I'm not able to fall for them. My brother has always been very cautious of it, and he has scared away some of the guys I've dated or, at least, was trying to get it on with.

The guy is wearing some sweats and simple sneakers underneath it, combined with a loose, white shirt on top. His blonde girls are messy, yet his roots seem dark, as if he has dyed his hair before. It looks very natural, which makes it even prettier. His eyes are blue, the color of the bright blue sky on a summer's day. His nose looks perfect, and his lips are perfectly pink. I've seen him before, but never from this close.

Who doesn't know Luke Hemmings?

He looks very handsome, but I know him. He's bad news and not worth it. We all go to the same uni, and I've heard several stories about Luke. I simply didn't know it was him since they're all on the other side of uni. It's a weird story to explain.

Yet, what I said, he's bad news. From the stories I've heard, he fucks every little thing that's alive. Everything he can possibly put his dick in, and there's no way that's going to happen to me. He will leave those girls heartbroken, feeling as used as they can be. But I do see why they fall for him; he's very attractive. He won't be that attractive as long as I think about the stories I've heard. Besides, I have had this thing for Ashton for ages.

"I'm El," I smile at Luke, trying not to be as awkward as I am. Of course, I know who he is. Everybody knows who he is. It doesn't take a genius to know it. His eyes meet mine, and he looks at Michael next to me. Gazing at us with a slight smirk on his face.

"Maybe you shouldn't be hitting on me when your boyfriend is sitting next to you." He says, shrugging. My eyes roll at his words instantly. Of course, he's dumb. The pretty ones are always dumb.

"I introduced myself, but your bar must be very low if you see that as hitting on you," I snap at him. "And Michael is my best friend." I don't know why I said that, but I don't want people to think Michael is my boyfriend. We've never seen each other in such a romantic way.

"Whatever you say, princess." Calum looks at Luke and rolls his eyes. "What are you doing in this house anyways?"

"She lives here, you idiot. That's Calum's sister." Ashton says, giving Luke a nudge. "So, you better behave before Calum will kick your ass. He's done it before. And if he doesn't, I sure as hell will." I frown at the guys in front of me.

Calum barely gets into fights, so I wonder what they're talking about. My brother's eyes meet mine, and he gestures with his hand, telling me I shouldn't worry about it. Not that that has ever helped me since I wonder what the fuck he's been doing at uni. Ashton sits down on the other side of the couch and looks at me.

"How has uni been treating you so far?" Ashton asks me, genuinely curious about my second year in it. My cheeks heat up as his eyes lock with mine. His hazel eyes are really bringing me to another world. I'm studying English literature, and I really like it. I think that makes me such a hopeless romantic as well, but I am, so it's nothing but facts.

"It has been a lot. I have a lot of essays due next week, so it's pretty stressful. But I decided to take the day off and hang with Mike." Ashton smiles at us. He has been the nicest friend Calum has ever had. He's very extroverted but also really caring and sweet. He'd literally go through fire for you even if he doesn't know you.

"If someone can do it, it's you, El." He winks, stands up from the couch again, and walks up to the other two guys. Michael is still focused on the screen in front of him, his eyes following everything that's happening on the screen.

"What? Because she's your sister, I don't have to pretend to be prince charming, right?" I hear Luke laugh. Both Michael and I turn our faces toward him. Calum is giving him a lecture about how he should stay nice to me right now because he already can't tolerate how he's acted toward me. Somehow, it's nice that he isn't nice to me somehow. Most guys usually force themselves to be nice to me because they don't want to talk to me. I don't blame them.

"She's my sister. It's one simple thing to be nice to her," Calum says. "So, you better do that."

"Or else?" He laughs. Calum never knows what to say about that. I stand up from the couch and feel Mike's hand on my wrist, holding me back from whatever is happening in my mind. I know he's protecting me from the upcoming confrontation, but I honestly don't mind. It's been a long time ago since I had some drama. Maybe that's what I need right now.

"How about when you guys talk about me, I'll join! I have a lot of juicy details y'all don't know." I tell them, sitting on the kitchen counter. Luke looks at me, clearly unimpressed and unbothered. "So go on, have your whiny little discussion about me." Ashton chuckles and leans on the kitchen counter next to me. His hand softly touches my thigh for a split second. Yet it's enough to set me on fire.

"How about you crawl back to that weasel's dick again," Luke says, nodding at Michael. I raise my eyebrows at his comment. He did not just involve my best friend in this conversation, and he did not just insult him like that.

"How about you crawl back in your mother since you came out of the wrong place, asshole." I spit at him. "Don't you ever insult my best friend again." I keep on looking into his eyes. He's clearly finding it amusing, but the grin on his face slowly disappears. He grabs a box of cigarettes from his pocket and lights one up. I grab it out of his mouth and put it under the sink. Luckily, he's not standing too far, so it's easy to grab it.

"What the fuck?!" He hisses. "That was my last one." A smirk grows on my face. Sounds like a him problem that it was his last cigarette. I don't give a single shit about it.

"That was for insulting Michael, dickface." He raises his brow, walking closer to the kitchen counter I'm sitting on. "How about you leave the house and don't come back." I smile sweetly. "We won't miss you." I wave at him, even though he's so close. I know I won't see him again since he's a total douche.

"We'll come with you," Calum says as he pushes Luke away from me. This time I'm the one raising my brow. He did not just defend Luke unconsciously, right? "I'm eating here tonight; can you inform mom and dad?" I nod in response.

"I really don't like him, Cal."

"Give him a chance." He says.

"Excuse me?!"

"Oh c'mon, El. I made that rule when I was how old again? Luke is one of my best mates. I won't ditch him for you. We barely even see each other." Somehow the words he's saying are breaking me. It almost feels like he doesn't care about me the way he used to. Calum leaves the kitchen, and I hear the door shut. Michael walks up to me and stands between my legs.

"Are you okay, El?" He asks me.

"Yeah, I'm good." I force a smile, and he rolls his eyes.

"Eloise-Anne," he says stricter. He knows I hate it when he says my full name, but he also knows I'm lying.

"That Luke guy is just a douche, that's all. He insulted you, I gave the worst comeback, and I think I'm broken now. I need my good comebacks, but now that fucker is here, I can't." He chuckles.

"Just let him talk, okay? His words won't hurt me." He presses a kiss on my forehead and smiles. "I was thinking we could order some pizza." He says, "I'm really dying for some good pizza."

'Same," I mumble. "Pizza cures depression."
