the morning just begins to peak through the nights skies, gentle brightness flowing in the air. the air is still cold and fresh, and the grass is covered in soft morning dew.
the ground in the forest is a little colder, or even a lot colder, since the trees are isolating so well, it stays cold for a long time under the trees, cold and rather dark, while the ground is damp and cold.
alastor moody is now returning to hogwarts. he took the job dumbledore offered him, but he refused to stay at hogwarts. he prefered the comfort of his own house, and not having to deal with kids running around at night and causing trouble.
luckily, he lived in london, and on his broom, he had no problem attending the school in the mornings.
he usualy does the same thing, flying on his broom till he gets to hagrids hut, gets off, and has a short morning walk up to the castle.
one time when he flew right into the castle, he almost decapitated mcgonagall, so hes asked not to do that anymore.
as usual, moody lands beside hagrids hut and throws his broom inside the hut, not minding how much noise hes making and disturbing the peace of the owner of the house. he left the broom there, took it after he was finished, and everything was in order.
he fixes his coat and sticks his staff on the ground, but instead of getting stuck in the ground, he hits something.
as he leans down, he squints his eyes and raises to his face a shoe. a simple block black shoe. the one that the students were wearing. its dirty and overworn, and now has a dent from the staff he stuck in it.
he looks to the left and the right, scanning with his eye for the other shoe, or anything else. noone just looses a shoe randomly, this is not here by accident.
he cant find the other shoe, but his eye does detect something weird. theres someone in the forest, his eye detects something weird in the forest.
with a sigh, he drops the shoe to the ground and takes out his wand, as he starts walking into the forest.
hes out on retiernment, but there are always dark wizards to catch, and they are always following afyer him, a lot of them have some kind of pay back for him.
he walks into the forest, keeping one eye on his target, the other checking where hes going. it seems that theres noone and nothing much out of the ordinary, besides the fact that there are some broken branches and footsteps in the soil under him, but they dont belong to the shoe he found.
finally, he sees the strange object.
theres a body lying on the ground, one leg caught up on a branch that is bending down, and the back of the body is half lying on a tree bark, the head tilted back so harshly that the mouth is wide agape, and the arm is just sprawled to the side like a rag doll.
with a sigh and a grumble, the man starts walking towards the body, soon identifying it as {Y/N} {L/N}, 6th year, close friends to the weasley twins.
confused, he leans down and looks you up and down. you have a lot of bruises on your body, and your clothes seem to be covered in blood and dirt, and true, your left foot is shoeless, white sock completly drenched through and through with blood.
"{Y/N} get up" he starts nudging your body with his staff, guessing you were drunk after a night party, passed out.
multipule times have you came to class, acompanied by fred and george, hung over and tired, swaying, and still drunk.
but you dont move at all, still lying blacked out on the ground. be moves his staff and nudges your head with it, pushing you with it. instead of waking up with a gasp and a laugh, you simply fall from the tree bark and onto the ground. still blacked out.
with a little tug on his lips and his eyes widening, he whips his wand out and casts a simple wingardium leviosa on your body, lifting you up and starts walking out of the forest with his staff in one hand, a body of a blacked out girl is floating behind him as he takes to the castle, straight to the hospital wing.

"oh my, oh my, alastor! what are you doing?!" madam pomfrey yells, speedwalking over as she sees him entering the hall with a literal body floating behind him, "put her down!" she calls, hitting his shoulder.
"oh relax, she aint with us" he says. the nurse falls silent, covering her mouth with a small gasp. moody rolls his eye. "shes blacked out, is what i mean" he says, slowly, carefully, lowering you to the bed.
"what happened?" she asks, rushing to the side of the bed and pressing ger hand to your forehead.
"just found her in the forest like that" moody shrugs his shoulders, his magic eye rolling around.
theres a short silence as the nurse opens your eye with her thumbs, your eye is rolling up and closing back, your pulse weak and your body full of bruises.
sudennly, the woman gasps, and drops your arm. "moody" she lets out, shakily, "go call the headmaster. immediatly"
confused, the professor gets up from the chair and walks over to look at what shes seeing.
she had stripped the shirt from you, and now, on your left arm, was a long tattoo looking snake. it went all around your arm, from your shoulder and the head at the back of your palm. it was all bloody, as if it was scracthed into your skin mercilasly.

dumbeldore steps into the room, snape following behind him. they dash quickly over to the bed where pomfrey was standing, and dumbledore gently pushed her aside to stand beside you.
he looks over your bruised face, body, and finally, the arm. the arm with a snake tattoo circling around it, and its moving, wiggling on your arm gently.
"where did you find her?" albus asks, turning to moody. "at the forest behind hagrids hut. figures whoever did this-" he jerks his head towards the bed, "meant for her to be found back there" he ends, clearing his throat.
albus nods and hums, taking your hand and lifting it up to watch the snake move on your arm.
"reckon this was done by-" "death eaters" albus finishs, nodding and setting your arm down gently, giving snape a side glance.
snape sometimes doesnt fully listen in the death eaters meetings. its so tiring, but he doubt he missed something like this.
"what was she even doing out of the school?" poppy asks, her voice distressed.
"its {Y/N}" moody sighs, "shes probably out more nights then shes in" he smirks, almost proud.
"but what did she do that this" snape mutters, "is the result" he looks down at your arm, his eyebrows furrowed.

for the next 2 weeks, you have been sleeping in the hospital wing, without a single time of waking up.
poppy took care of you, and hermione even came over every day to do your skin care routine.
moody watched with confusion as she did it everyday.
"do you know where she was?" moody asked, the first day when hermione came to wash your face.
working the gentle cleanser on your face, she sighed. "well, that evening she was trying to get fred and george to go with her to hogsmeade to some party, but they couldnt go" she explains, "when i went to bed she was still in, but i guess she could have left any time later" she ponders, her lips pulling around. shes almost laughing, amazed by your stupidness that got you to this position.
"what party?" moody asks, "i dont know. ask fred and george, they know about it"
luckily, the twins were coming to see you to, and got to be interrigated by the scariest professor on campus. maybe, excpet for professor snape. but he was there too.
"what party was it?" moody asked, each hand holding an ear, one freds, and georges the other.
"just some party in a weird club in town" fred says quickly, george is nodding quickly.
"what club?" snape snarls at the boys.
"do-do you rememeber the name forge?" fred asks, wincing, trying to make moody leave them. even though fred and george were taller then moody, he was so intimidating they felt like 5 year olds.
"so-something like... red windows? yeah, yeah, i think thats it" george says, nodding enthusiastingly.
"she went to a party in the red windows?" snape asks slowly, condesendingly, not sounding pleased, "how did she even hear about a party in the red windows?"
"she said her friend invited her" fred and george say at the same time.
"a friend?" moody asks lowly, getting his face closer to them, his eye moving between the two.
"should we tell them?" fred whispers, looking at his brother as if noone else sees it, "yeah" george nods.
"its lucius malfoy"

"what the hell-" snape pulls out his wand and sticks the tip in the blond mans neck, his face so close to his, so close, "have you done with my student?" he snarls.
"what are you talking about professor? the blond laughs, moving his wand away slowly from his neck, but the professor hasnt moved and the wand is still sticking in his neck.
"do you not know? my student whos been lying in the hospital wing for 24 hours already, unmoving, marked up with a curse on her?!" severus snarls, almost spitting on the blond man.
"what?!" lucius coughs and shuts his eyes tightly for a second, "i mean... what are you talking about, who?" he tries again.
severus casts a spell that sends the blond flying back until he hits the wall, and severus pins him to it, holding his neck with the wand.
"you tell me" severus only needs to utter the words with such a tone, the blond sighs and spills.
"fine, i told bunny that there was going to be a party at the red windows and if she want to come she can, but she wasnt there! i was" lucius adds, smirking.
"is that all?" severus asks, eyes looking very calm.
"she didnt come. i guessed she didnt want to, thats it. bunny doesnt like me much" he chuckles.
"dont call her bunny" severus says, stunning lucius and again apparatinh away back into the castle.

right eye opening first, then the left, and quickly, a shooting pain through your shoulder and down your entir arm.
raising your hand to your shoulder, you grab it hard and groan, your throat feels dry and groans.
what happened? where am i?
rubbinh your hurting eyes, you look around. you are in bed, dressed in clean clothes, its still a little dark but it seems that morning starts to peak through the big window to your left.
and your shoulder hurts like hell.
your raise both your hands for a stretch, and very surprisingly, you find your left hand almost blacked out as if it was drowned in ink, and after squinting your eyes very carefully you see a snake head on the outside part of your wrist, and the tongue that stretches out looks like its moving.
you start to rub your inked hand frantically, but the snakr hisses and moves again on your wrist, wrapping around it and then you can see it open its mouth and stick two fangs between your thumb and finger.
it doesnt hurt much, but tingles a bit.
"what the hell..." your voice comes out hoarse as you keep hitting your arm over and over again, until the snake takes out its fangs and wraps around your arm.
how did i get here?

the hospital wing opened again that morning, poppy working in it, and as usual, hermione comes in in the morning to check on you and wash your face.
as she sits down and starts to wet your face with a cloth, your eyes open up.
she shreeks and jumps up from her chair, screaming and panting frantically.
"are you okay mione?" she looks up from the floor to your bed again, seeing you looking down at her with a smile.
"oh my god!" she yells, jumping up and attacking you on the bed, hugging you tightly and panting, still shellshocked.
you pet her shoulder slowly, smiling and hugging her back and trying to make out anything from her mummbling. not much.
from hearing the comotion, poppy walks over to find you awake, hugging hermione with your cursed arm.
"oh merlin, you are up" she leans on the wall and covers her eyes, thanking someone and mummbling words.
"yes, yes im up. so i got a little drunk and passed out, who cares? it happened before" you offer, almost smug.
you recieve a gentle slap from hermione.
"dont lie to us, we already know what happened. the twins told" she says, annoyed.
"those guys..." you hiss playfully, making a vengeful fist.
but shes still not amused.
"moody will kill you" she says before hugging you again.

the heavy door of the hospital wing opens up ans closes again, and hermione breaks out a smile, stopping her rammbling about everything you missed.
"hes here"
she gets off the bed, and you see snape, dumbledore, and professor moody coming up to your bed.
awkward smile. arms opening up.
"hey you guys" you offer with a smile and expecting eyes.
none of the three look amused.
"you will start talking right now young lady, right now i say, or you will be in big truble" moody says as he gets closer and pulls up a chair to sit beside the bed, both his eyes glaring at you harshly.
"jeez" you laugh nervously, "nice to see you all too, good to be up, yeah im feeling ok, and you?" you ask sarcastically.
but again, noone looks amused.
beside hermione, ron and harry who look at you, almost laughing.
"young lady yoy were found 3 weeks ago passed out in the woods with a curse inside of you. you better start talking"
moody says again.
you give him a sassy look, one eyebrow raised, and slowly turn your head towards dumbledore and snape.
"so what did i miss?" you ask the two men.
dumbledore finally lets out a smirk, and snape rolls his eyes, crossing his arms.
"are you hurting {Y/N}?" dumbledore asks finally, voice kind but still uneasy. you can see snape looking at your arm, and then he dashs over to poppy and talks to her lowly, but you still hear it all,
"the curse keeps spreading, i will bring a potion she should be taking to try and fight it off"
"im fine, just my shoulder hurting some" you smile back at dumbledore.
"show us your shoulder" snape says.
with careful right hand you roll up your left sleeve until you can see your shoulder.
new silence. heavy and thick.
your shoulder is totaly blacked out, and not only this, but it seems like its cracking like the desert grounds, skin about to break off like in a drought.
"{Y/N}" moody says again as snape comes to your side and starts inspecting your shoulder, and you feel the snake moving again, turning and going up your arm.
you look over to moody.
"tell me how you got involved in the red rooms parties and the death eaters" he states.
"i..." you trail off, looking around and almost letting out that you are at the end of your rope,
"i should consult my lawyer"
before anything else could be said, you apparate away and disapear right under moodys and snapes arms, leaving everyone staring at an empty bed, after you ran away.
moody rubs his face and gets up, grabs his cane, and yells out "fuck!" before he leaves the hall.
