Oliver's birthday was coming up soon and that meant you've been busy planning his surprise birthday party with one of his friends h/f/n (his friend's name). You were originally going to plan it with James but since they hang out a lot and James can't keep a surprise a secret to save his life, you decided against it.
With planning a surprise party obviously involves a lot of secrecy. To get everything perfect and plan so that all his family and friends could be there meant spending a lot of time with h/f/n, which meant having to sometimes cancel plans with Oliver and not come home until the evening but you didn't think he would mind because once you were home, you gave him your undivided attention to make up for not being there as much.
But obviously, you were wrong. Oliver was beginning to wonder why you were hanging out with his friend so much even though you told him many times you were only working on a project from work since you two worked at the same company and he believed you at first but naturally as you spent more and more time with h/f/n as Ollie's birthday was getting closer, he started to wonder if it was more than just a project.
The night before his birthday, after you finished setting up the final venue, you came home at around 8pm and that was it for him. "Been with h/f/n again I assume?" he asked spitefully and you were a bit taken aback by his tone but understood since this was the latest you've arrived home.
"Yeah I'm sorry, it was the final day we had to work on the project" you tried to cover it but Oliver didn't want to believe it anymore. "I bet you had a lot of fun together" he mumbled, still staring at the tv screen but not really paying attention to the movie that was playing. "Oliver, you know it's not like that, we're just partners working on a project, that's all" you said, sitting down next to him but he just moved away.
"Yeah, sure, you really want me to believe it don't you" he said, with a harsher tone which made you flinch a bit but you kept your composure. "Oliver, I promise, I would never ever cheat on you" "Then why have you been hanging out so much??" he asked, raising his voice. "I-" "And don't give me any of the project bullshit, cuz you would be coming back a lot earlier and wouldn't be cancelling on me all the damn time".
He was almost yelling by now and he had stood up and his face had turned slightly red. You would be lying if you said you weren't a bit scared right now because even though you completely understood where he was coming from, he was currently towering over you and almost yelling.
"Oliver please i-" you started but he cut you off again. "I'm giving you a chance to fucking explain yourself why you've been sneaking around my back with my best friend" he said, face getting closer to you and voice getting louder making you recoil more into the sofa. "I was planning a surprise party for you" you managed to get out, still curling up and looking down at the floor.
Oliver immediately froze up, making sure that he heard it right, all his features immediately softening and filling with guilt. "What did you say?" he asked again, voice much softer than before so you straightened up a bit but was still looking at the floor. "I was going to throw you a surprise party for tomorrow and he was helping me plan it" you said and he kneeled in front of you, taking your face in his hands so you would look at him.
He kisses your nose gently and rests your forehead against his. "I'm so so sorry baby, I just guess you would eventually realize that he's better than me and I got jealous, and I really missed you, I'm sorry I ruined the surprise and all of your hard work, please forgive me." he pleaded, placing a gentle kiss on the back of your hand.
"I know where you're coming from and I understand but please don't tower over me like that, it scared me, cuz well...you're a giant, but I forgive you" you said and wrapped your arms around him. Then he gently picked you up and carried you upstairs with his hands under ur thighs and you clinging onto his neck. "I'm so sorry for everything my love, I adore you so much and I can't bear to lose you. You mean everything to me and I'm not about to let you go" Oliver whispered.
And you two were up until the early hours as he spent the whole night making up for his behavior, treating you once more like his queen. (Use ur imagination to what he spent the whole night doing👀👀👀👀)
