Chapter 22: Soldier

"This is not about the company anymore, you're not focused Archielle and it irritates me that your doing nothing on our company losing some investors." my mom hissed and I can't help but to just let out a sigh, I'm wearing my combat uniform and instead of going to the camp, I came here because of the urgent meeting.

I'm late already on my duty but I need to handle the company also, my ears are getting irritated but I need to listen to my mom.

Our company is losing some investors because of some problems in our lands, we have an issue about one of our lands and said that we illegally purchased it.

I don't get it why but as far as I know, every land that we have, we have the consent and the receipt that it's ours and it's legally purchased by our family.

Someone said that we forced and threatened some farmers to sell their lands but that's not true. I don't know where did this come from but I also got irritated because of the fake news they brought to people.

"Mom, we can still get some investors if you and dad will go to some business trips." I suggested and I saw her rolling her eyes as if my suggestion is nothing to do with the company's situation right now.

"I hate it, sino bang nag-pakalat ng pekeng balita na 'yan? I don't do dirty plays and I don't purchase lands illegally." my mom hissed and I can see the irritation filling her already because of the news that broke out the television.

"Tinawagan rin ako ng mayor ng lupang 'yun at sinasabi ng ilang mag-sasaka na tinakot ko raw sila para ibigay sa atin ang lupa nila, what kind of stupidity is that?"

Ang boses niya na halos ikapunit na ng tenga ko, late na ako sa duty ko pero nagawa ko pa ring pumunta dito dahil sa balitang kumakalat. Isa pa doon ay ang pag-mimina na kumakalat, sinisisi sa amin ang mga nangyareng landslide pero wala naman kaming kinalaman doon dahil sa malayo naman ang lupang kinuhanan namin.

"I got humiliated, argh! You better fix this, Archi! Paanong hindi mo ito naayos kagaad? Hindi mo ba alam na unti-unti na tayong nawawalan ng investors?"

Heto nanaman siya, halos mapunit na ang tenga ko dahil alam kong may ibubunton nanaman siya sa aking pang-sisisi kahit na wala akong kasalanan. Ganon naman palagi, kahit ata manahimik lang ako sa isang tabi ay may makikita pa rin siyang mali.

I brushed my hair using my fingertips because of frustration, I'm a soldier but I also need to handle the company. It's hard to balance my time on both the reason why I'm always tired.

"Yes, ma'am. I will fix this but please calm down, hindi mag-tatagal ang problemang 'to." kahit na subukan kong pagaanin ang loob niya ay alam kong may sasabihin pa rin siya, ganon ang nanay ko at halos lunurin niya na ako sa mga gusto niyang gawin.

"You need to fix this now! Hindi puwede umabot ito ng ilang araw dahil baka mawalan na tayo ng investors, hindi puwedeng mawala sa atin ang pansin ng mga tao."

Nag-pakawala nanaman ako ng isang malalim na hininga at nagawa namang masahiin ang sentido ko, kung alam niya lang kung gaano kahirap ang mamalakad ng kompanya at mag-lingkod sa bansa.
