R-18. violence, death

Death has freedom

There were two kinds of hands my mother said, the one holding and the one letting go. Both had good intentions on why they hold and why they let go.

Until now, I still don't know which was mine.

But Worth's the one holding.

Hindi ko na mabilang kung ilang ulit na ba akong bumuga ng hininga at mapalunok. Nangangatal ang mga paa kong nakatayo sa gitna ng dalawang pwersa. Sa itaas ko ay may nagsusulpukang mga eroplano.

"What is she doing here?"

"Secretary, on your command. I have a good shot on her."

"Should we call Floraza, Secretary?"

"They still want something from her. A new research. A new spectacle."

"Your call, Mr. Walter."

Samu't saring mga komento, suhestyon ang nadidinig ko mula sa baba. Hinugot ko lahat ng lakas na makikita ko sa katawan ko at dahan-dahang biniba ang tingin sa kanilang lahat.

My eyes immediately search for Worth. My brows furrowed when I didn't see him anywhere. He was not on his previous position before. Tanging mga patak lang ng dugo ang nakita kong nakabahid sa lupa ng kaninang niluluhuran niya.

Fear rushed in my body when I saw the blood. Nanghina ako sa itsura nun. He was shot. He took the shot.
Pakiramdam ko ilang segundo nalang ay matutumba na ako sa kinatatayuan ko dahil sa mga nakatutok na baril sakin.

The UNCOs sharp and killer eyes are all focused on me. Mahigpit ang kapit nila sa kanya-kanyang mga baril, handa na sa pagputok ng gatilyo.

"W-Worth.." It sounded like his name was my only strength left.

I can see the other soldiers slowly and quietly went out from the trees and behind the rocks while they were all intrigued by my unexpected presence in the middle of them. Marshal was signalling them.

Halos lahat ng nasa harapan ko ay may kunot-noo habang nakatitig sakin. Secretary Walter's jaw dropped when he saw me. Nalaglag nito ang hawak niyang baril na bahagyang umuusok pa ang dulo. He touched his own earpiece. His eyes became darker.

"Get me Doctor Floraza. The girl they want is right infront of me now. She's here.. surprisingly." He spoke.

Saglit siyang natigilan habang nakikinig sa linya niya. He put down his hand to his side and shook his head while clicking his tongue as he looked at me. As if pitying me.

Napaurong ako sa kinatatayuan nang yumuko siya at dahan-dahang pinulot ang baril niya. Hindi niya inalis ang titig niya sakin.

"Should I come up to her, sir?" One of his men asked him.

Umiling ang sekretarya at ngumisi sa kinatatayuan nito. "No need. Too bad, they won't be needing her anymore. She's no use to them now.."

Muli kong sinulyapan ang marshal. He's still preoccupied by his men. He glanced at me and carefully lift his hand. He's asking me to wait a little longer.

Bumalik ang tingin ko sa sekretarya. I'm starting to feel my body getting weaker on every minute. I don't think I can stand any longer.

Nilibot ko ang paningin ko.

Where are you, baby?

Walter clicked his tongue and pointed his gun on me. Umakyat lahat ng dugo ko sa mukha at nag-iindang tumakbo. Pinilit kong manatili pa rin sa kinatatayuan kahit halos manginig na ang buong katawan ko sa takot.
