Tori honestly wondered why people couldn't just mind their own business.

She was seated at the Gryffindor table in the Great Hall, staring into her french toast when she heard some voices taunting Harry.

"Hey, Potter!" shrieked Pansy Parkinson, a Slytherin girl with a face like a pug. "Potter. The Dementors are coming, Potter. Woooooooo."

"Be careful! Don't pass out," Dove shouted towards the boy. Tori frowned, glancing over at her older brother, Avalon Silvers. Avalon, as well as Percy and Wood, was graduating this year. Tori had no idea what the boy was going into for his career, but he didn't bother telling her either, so she pretended she didn't care.

Harry dropped into a seat at the Gryffindor table, next to George. Tori shot him a sympathetic look. She hated how her sister was treating the boy like this. Her sister. Little Dove Silvers. Well, now she wasn't so little anymore. She was a total git.

"New third-year timetables?" George asked, passing the sheet over. "What's up with you, Harry?" He asked, noticing the defeated look in the young boy's face. Tori took her timetable from the pile, glancing over at Ron.

"Malfoy," Ron sighed, sitting down on George's other side and glaring over at the Slytherin table.

George and Tori looked up in time to see Malfoy pretending to faint with terror again. Dove was laughing at the boy, hitting him on the shoulder gently. Tori sent him a glare, turning back to the group.

"That little git," George said calmly. "He wasn't so cocky last night when the Dementors were down our end of the train. Came running into our compartment, didn't he?"

"Nearly wet himself," Fred chuckled, with a contemptuous glance at Malfoy. "He might have cried if he didn't get inside," Tori told the two younger boys. They smiled weakly.

"I wasn't too happy myself," George said. "They're horrible things, those Dementors..." Tori shivered at the thought. She could almost feel the cold chill from before.

"Sort of freeze your insides, don't they?" Fred patted Tori on the back as she tried to look at her schedule. "You didn't pass out, though, did you?" Harry said in a low voice. Tori peered up at him. "Forget them, Harry. They weren't much different."

"Tori's right,' said George bracingly, "Dad had to go out to Azkaban one time, remember, Fred? And he said it was the worst place he'd ever been. He came back all weak and shaking... They suck the happiness out of a place, Dementors. Most of the prisoners go mad in there."

Tori bit her lip, trying to shake the idea about her Grandfather going mad out of her head. Sure, he was an awful, awful man. But not even Tori could wish that on anyone. George noticed Tori's off face, looking up at her confused.

"Anyway, we'll see how happy Malfoy looks after our first Quidditch match," Fred shrugged. "Gryffindor versus Slytherin, first game of the season, remember?"

Harry nodded, proceeding to talk to Ron and Hermione. Tori finally got to read over her timetable. They had double potions with Ravenclaws this morning. Gross.

Tori groaned, seeing Snape first thing in the morning wasn't ideal. He was always grumpy in the morning. And the afternoon, and during the evening. Okay, Snape was always grumpy and Tori really wished she could drop Potions.

She knew if she received an O on her O.W.L.S. that could be a possibility. But then again, she would most likely have to take his N.E.W.T. class. She'd have to talk to McGonagall about that during her career talk.

Another 'fun' thing about their fifth year. In March and April, the head of their house calls them in and helps them choose a career path. Tori had no idea what she wanted to do with her life. She didn't want to work in her father's department. Not only would it be terribly awkward, but Tori didn't want to be held down to an office desk.

Putting that aside, Tori was actually excited about Defense Against the Dark Arts. Hermione and Ginny had told her that Professor Lupin used a patronus charm to get rid of the dementor after Harry had passed out. Maybe he could teach the class that.

The bell rang, ending breakfast. Tori followed the twins out, where Lee was standing at the entrance waiting for them. Fred and Lee began discussing a new prank idea immediately. Tori titled her head to the side, listening in.

In prior years, they had basically used every single thing in Zonko's prank shop. They needed something new, something other people didn't have. She wasn't talking about the map, though.

"You alright?" George whispered to Tori. She glanced up at him with a puzzled expression. "Of course. Why wouldn't I be?"

"You seemed... worried today." He replied. Fred was still taking to Lee and hadn't noticed yet. "Well, of course, I'm worried. There are dementors everywhere." But George shook his head, meeting Tori's eyes.

"You're my best friend. I know when somethings up. You're worried about something else." Tori tried to think about how to shift the conversation to a different topic, but luckily for her, they had arrived to class.

Tori rushed through the door, taking her seat between Alicia and Angelina. The class smelled like the familiar unidentifiable smell, which students would take a guess of what it was. There were dark cauldrons at each of the tables. Tori already knew they were jumping right into the lesson. Snape entered shortly after, beginning his discussion.

"This year you will all be taking your O.W.L.S." He said slowly, his eyes gazing the room like he was picking out a victim. "Your O.W.L.S. will open doors to your future. They could as well close doors if you fail them. Now, today we will be learning about the Draught of Peace."

He talked for a short time before blindly pairing people up. Tori was hoping to be with someone she could talk to, but that wasn't the case. She was paired up with a Ravenclaw boy named Robbie Larson for the assignment. Robbie was very bossy and kept trying to take over the entire project.

"Hand me the powdered moonstone." He demanded, holding his hand out. Tori glanced up from the textbook. "It's right in front of you, grab it yourself." She replied. She had a knife in her hand as she tried to understand how the Valerian root was to be crushed.

Robbie grumbled something under his breath and got back to work. Tori carefully chopped each root up, trying her best to not cut her finger. She peered up, glancing over the room at Fred. He had been partnered up with Amber Lutz, a quiet Ravenclaw who Tori had recognized only from previous years

He gestured to Robbie as if to say, "How's your partner?" Tori rolled her eyes in response. Fred chuckled, looking at Amber before mouthing, "Not too bad."

"Lucky." Tori grinned, turning back to her work. Snape must have seen something since he stood over by Fred for a good chunk of class after that. Godric forbids someone smile in his class. He was almost worst than a dementor.
