Hey everyone! :) You get to meet a few new people this chapter (probably one you wished would never come into this but oh well, my story!) It leaves you at kind of a cliff hanger (Not really) but I'll post again soon so don't worry. Anyways  this story is actually not going to be very long, its only going to go on for a couple more chapters (I'm not sure how many yet, less then 8 is what I can guesstimate.) but there will be a sequel so even when it ends its not the end! :) (and trust me, you want to be here for the sequel!) Thanks for reading and I love comments and feed back so don't be afraid to talk, I only bite a little! ;)

The smell of smoke awoke me in the early twilight the next morning. It took my sleep fogged mind a few moments to process this smell and what it meant but when it finally hit me that when theres smoke theres fire, I got my ass out of bed. I quickly threw on some jeans over the underwear I slept in and a jacket over my nightshirt and took to the hall where people were frantically running about. Most of the girls were crowded in front of the elevator waiting for it like the idiots they were so I took the less traveled back stair way route and found myself in a mass of doe eyed people all running for the front gates.

“Cam?” I yelled stopping in my tracks and throwing glances around “Cameron!?” Suddenly Cameron materialized out of one of the building and made a B line for me. “Whats going on?!” I asked starting to freak out.

“Someone set fires in all the buildings. Everyone started to run out the gates in panic but we just used it like an evacuation and routed them towards the underground base just outside the gate.” He explained quickly. He grabbed my shoulders with shaking hands,

“Lacy you have to go now. Follow the crowd and I’ll be with you soon enough.”

“Where are you going? Your not coming too?” I asked suddenly even more scared then before.

“Don’t worry.” He said, putting a hand on my cheek. “Everything is going to be okay. I have to make sure everyone is out then investigate the cause of these fires but I promise I’ll find you soon.” I hadn’t gotten the time this morning to put on my skin and prepare for the day so this chaos was already freaking me out and knowing Cameron wasn’t going to be with me safe made me just want to cry. He saw it in my eyes and pulled me into a tight hug in which I tried to choke back terrified sobs arising from my throat. “Its going to be okay.” He whispered softly in my ear but it didn’t matter how many times he said it, it failed to make me feel better.

“Stay safe.” I said in a shaky voice.

“You too.” He replied, pecking me on the lips and looking me over again with worry before leaving. I knew he was scared too, the unknown scared everyone but the difference between me and him was that he wasn’t allowed to show it. If he did the place would really go into a panic, at this point the only sanity left that everyone clung to as an example was him.

I followed the crowd into the gray, gloomy forest. It was ominous and instantly gave me that bad sense again but we had to go into it to get to the entrance of the underground base. I sighed sadly to myself, stopping just outside the front gate trying to convince myself everything really would be okay. I turned back to The Facility just in time to witness the buildings begin to glow with orange and the windows begin to bust and shatter from their frames. At this point even the rescuers had to know it and anyone left was a lost cause, surely Cameron would be coming out to join us soon right? I thought to myself. The crowds began to thin and I was hoping to see him again but I couldn’t find him anywhere. I began to walk slowly next to the path where the others trekked for a better vantage point of those walking on it but it unknowingly put me on the edge of the forest and unseen danger. I turned with my back completely to the forest to look back at the last people running from the gates and suddenly a hand struck out and covered my mouth and nose with a rag soaked in a fowl liquid. My legs began to wobble instantly and once I was off balance they pulled me back into the cover of the brush. I attempted to scream but it was muffled and my voice began to falter from the effects of what ever was on the rag. I finally saw Cameron standing at the gates but I was getting farther and farther away. My eyes lulled up in my head and I finally slump forward, giving into sleep.
