"Good morning Mary, sorry I'm late. I couldn't sleep and when I could I over slept a little... or a couple hours.." She laughed and nodded,

"Its alright. Everyone is very slow in the morning so its not that big of a deal if one of our staff sleeps in as long as others show up.. but don't make a habit of it." She warned. "I need you to go help Luke cut up some fruit for lunch, you good with knives?"

   "Yes ma'm" I replied,

"Good, get to it." She said but suddenly there was a loud commotion in the back. Some of the other workers came running holding their noses and breathing heavily, it freaked me out because I couldn't figure out what would cause that. Mary and I burst through the door and saw Luke holding his finger which was bleeding everywhere. I almost laughed because everyone was freaking out just because he was bleeding but I didn't because I didn't know how bad.

"Oh god! I'll call the clinic!" Mary exclaimed running back to her office. I rushed forward and grabbed his wrist.

"Let me see." I told him and he released his finger. His middle finger hung oddly and was gushing blood everywhere. By the looks of the finger and the bloodied knife on the table I'd say he almost cut clean through it.

I pulled him over to the sink and turned to water on to wash the blood away. I grabbed a towel and wrapped his finger in it after turning the water off, applying pressure to the wound. Mary returned with a phone to her ear.

"How deep is the cut JD?" She asked, "I'm on the phone with the doctor right now he's bringing a kit down with him." I put his finger back over the sink ready to wash it again after I opened it up incase it bled more. I spread the skin I was holding together back and saw his bone.

"Its into the bone." I told her. She looked sick as she relayed it to The Doctor.

"Its alright we aren't worried about what to do JD has him taken care of we just need someone down here to stitch him back up." She said into the phone then she looked at me. "JD can you do stitches?" I looked at her like she was mad,

"No!" I said, "Tell him to get his lazy ass down here." I said as she came closer, I could hear his laugh in the phone.

"Yeah its bad I'm getting outta here." Marry said making a dash for the door.

"Is it really to the bone?" Luke asked looking pale,

"Yeah, see?" I said showing it to him. He when completely white and his lips began to turn blue. "Sit down! Your going into shock!" I told him but he had already collapsed to the floor. I told him to hold the towel on his finger while I laid him out completely and put his feet up on a stool. I'm not sure why you did this for patients who went into shock but I remember my dad telling me about it once and it always helps.

"Your such a baby." I said and he gave a nervous laugh, The Doctor got arrived at the same time because we heard him laugh too as he walked in. He looked down at Luke on the floor and I could tell he was repressing another laugh, he thought Luke was a baby too.

"He went into shock so I put his feet up, the wound has already been washed and I've been applying pressure." I told him. He looked surprised and pleased.

"You should work in the clinic, some of my nurses don't even get the concept of applying pressure." He said while unwrapping Luke's finger and taking a look at it.

"I don't think I can get treated at the clinic anymore knowing that." I said, kinda disgusted, how did they pick these people? The Doctor laughed,

"And stitching is an easy skill to learn, you'd pick it up quick." He said as he began after injecting his finger with numbing medication.

"Yeah well if I had attempted it today I'd probably treat him more like a pin cushion then a human being and it would be ugly and messy." I replied,
