Y/N POV

I lay there.
It was an odd sensation of insignificance.
People were rushing all around me and there was nothing I could do about it.
I tried to call for help, but no one heard me.
No one came by.
I lay there for hours. Not able to move.
I don't know why I couldn't move, but I just couldn't.
I was mentally screaming.
For help.
For someone to come.
No one did.
I kept screaming in my mind.
Finally.
Thomas came over
"Guys. Shes up!" He called
As if on cue, all the doctors and nurses turned and came to me at once.

I look at Thomas. I can't say anything, but I make a face at him. One that clearly says 'Thank you'. He makes a face back. 'Your welcome.'

Soon, I find myself quite tired and I fall asleep.

_____

I wake up. This time is different. I can move. Sort of. I wiggle around in the hospital bed, trying to sit upright. I let out a small groan. I can talk now!

"Hello?" I mutter quietly. It clearly sounds like I just got up.

"Y/N!" Thomas says sort of quietly, almost like he didn't believe I was awake.

"Yeah, it's me." I say rubbing my eyes.

Something was different about Thomas. I looked at him for a few moments, and figured it out. His hair was much messier, and his clothes had obviously been on him for a while.

"How long was I out for?" I ask. Judging by his state, I clearly was out for more than just a few minutes.

"Well," he says looking at his watch. "Hard to say exactly. I found you lying on the road three days ago to the minute. How long before then you were run over, I'm not sure."

"Three days?" I ask genuinely confused. "Wheres Ava?"

"She went back to the hotel. She didn't want to. It took a lot of convincing to get her to leave. She didn't want you to wake up and think she left you." Thomas explained.

"Oh." I was kind of disappointed.

"Don't worry about her. She was terrified for you. I sent Greg back to the hotel with her to make sure she was okay. She's fine."

"So how long have you been here?" I ask.

"All three days. Give or take. For the first day we brought you here, it was around 10:30 in the morning. Ava and I stayed here all morning, and then I left for 10 minutes to pick up lunch. I came back, and the two of us stayed for the rest of the day. Ava fell asleep in the chair here for maybe 3 hours, but that was at around 4 in the morning of the next day. She woke up, and was horrified that she accidentally left you as she slept and I didn't. I consoled her. She is one hell of a friend. Didn't want to ever leave you. I sent her for a walk that day. Just around the hospital.  She needed it. If I wasn't here to tell her otherwise, she would have stayed here watching you breathe the entire three days.  Truth be told, none of us knew your condition. The doctors weren't really open with us, so we were all worried we were loosing you. Your aunt came by to check on you. I left you guys be, and went to go grab a tea with Ava. She needed someone to be with her, and needed a break from watching your almost lifeless body breathe. Your aunt sat by your bedside for hours, talking. She was talking about all kinds of things you guys did. She even played Beatles music, thinking if you could hear it, it would lift your spirits a bit. She left, and Ava spent the next hours checking your pulse every 10 minutes, even though there was a machine hooked up to you to do that. she didn't trust it. I sent her to the hotel yesterday at noon. I sent Greg back with her, and told him to distract her from the situation. I think they watched TV or something. Greg said he bought them pizza and doughnuts." Thomas said

"Sounds like Ava. Pizza and doughnuts can distract her from literally anything." I said smiling.

A doctor came into the room as we were laughing and smiling. The doctor hooked me up to a few machines and ran a few tests.

"Originally we all thought that it would take a day or two after you woke up to recover, but you seem to be doing fine. Aside from the obvious injuries, you seem to be in perfect health. We should be able to let you go home in a few hours. I will get my superiors to check on you first though." The doctor said, and she left the room.
