As I hit the first note, it all flows through me. I sit there playing.
I wrote a piano version for this song when I was 13. Boulevard of Broken Dreams by Green Day.
The way I arranged it, it barely even sounds like the Green Day song unless you have someone singing. So I guess I'll be singing today. For the record, I am far from a great singer. The noise of the people eating, drinking and talking dies down within the first 5 notes I played.
Of course.
The whole place can hear me.
And I'm going to have to sing.
'Here goes nothing.' I think to myself.

I walk a lonely road, the only one that I have ever known.

I hear a second voice.

The only road that I have ever known

I turn my head. Ava. She followed me back stage. She's the best. I could never finish singing the song alone.

Dont known where it goes,
But it's only me and I walk alone.

Ah,
Ah,
Ah,
Aah.

I hear rustling beside me. The curtains open. We keep going.
She is standing beside the piano. Harrison throws her a mic.

My shaddows the only one who walks beside me
My shallow hearts the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone up there will find me
Till then I walk alone.

We hit every note with the perfect amount of dissonance. Making you want more. It was amazing.
We keep going. Can't stop now, right? We exchange smiles.
I let her solo for the last part.
The whole place bursts into a round of applause.
The curtains close.

(A/N): sorry this one is so short. It seemed like a good breaking point.
For the record, I did actually arrange an epic piano version of that song, and it is unrecognizable until someone sings.
Let me know if you have any suggestions. 😁
