you held the headband close to your chest, looking out towards the trees and the sunset. you would be lying if you said you didn't miss what you had at the village, but only during your childhood days. everything else was a mess, but you had it good there; good house, good family, good friends.
what you didn't have was a good future. you committed a few crimes that weren't forgivable, so you ran off with the akatsuki. your partners were understanding to an extent, like now.
you felt hands wrap around your waist, and you looked over your shoulder to the familiar man. "you almost done here?" he asked, and you nodded as you wiggled free from his grip and crouched down to place the headband down.
your finger tapped against the embedded symbol, and you watched as it broke into millions of pieces. you stood, taking one last look out before turning around and walking back.
