Serena was nervous now, not for herself but for Harry. His father wasn't really fond of meeting her boyfriends, but then again, Elijah was the only boyfriend Serena had. Even her father wasn't having fun meeting him despite all the sweet-talk and him kissing her father's ass. It's normal for parents to feel overprotective over their children, especially fathers.

They were all sat on the dining table, her hand was on top of Harry's as she tried to calm him down. It was drawn all over his face that he was intimidated by her father.

"So, how did you meet my daughter?" He asks, his brow raised as his gaze was fixated on Harry. "I met her during our shooting for a movie, sir." Harry replies as calm as he could. "What did you think of her then?"

"She is a well-respected name in the industry, I was a bit intimidated to be honest, but I thought she was absolutely amazing and beautiful, she's also very helpful and kind." His father's expression didn't really change, not a single movement happened, he remained stone cold towards Harry who only grew more nervous and awkward about the situation he is in.

Dianna must've sensed the tension in the air, she decided to look at Harry and smile kindly. She wanted to let the man know he was doing a good job, she knows he must be nervous and she wants him to feel at ease, which is easier said than done when his husband looks as if he's throwing daggers at Harry.

"What made you realize you want to be her?" There was silence, the three of them were waiting for Harry's answer. He clears his throat before replying. "She's my sweet creature, sir. I wrote a song back then, one that I would wish to sing to the woman I will marry one day... and when I got the chance to be with her and all that, I realized that that song fits her so perfectly. I love her so much, sir. She inspires me to be better, encourages me to take care of myself— I would try my best not to hurt her, sir."

None of them spoke a word after Harry's statement, but their faces said everything their lips cannot.

Harry was nervous but he looked relieved that he got that out of his chest, Serena looked so proud and happy, Dianna was slightly tearing up while Quentin looked slightly pleased with his answer.

At this point, Harry was shaking. He didn't know if his answer was alright, or if Serena's father would believe him— he's over-analyzing everything at this point.

"I like you for my daughter."

Those six words were enough to brighten up the entire atmosphere and to bring a smile on their faces. Harry was over the moon.

"That went surprisingly well." He started, a smile painted on his face as his dimples showed up prominently. Serena nods in agreement. "I know, honestly, I was a bit nervous you'd get scared of my dad since he could come off a bit scary and intimidating sometimes." Harry chuckles. "I'd be lying if I say I didn't get scared that I might mess up in front of him, but I just wanted to be as honest as possible."

Serena then wraps her arms around his torso and held him tightly. "You're amazing." Harry laughs under his breath and hugged her back, pressing his lips on the top of her head. "God, I missed having you in my arms like this."

They both had no idea when was the last time they stayed in each other's arms, they've been busy with work and traveling, they definitely missed the simple times where they could literally just stay on the bed, cuddling and laughing while listening to stories one told the other.

Harry playfully dragged himself to the bed and threw himself on it, making Serena fall on top of him as the two of them exchanged glances and laughs.

"You're so beautiful." He wistfully mutters out, eyes trailing down to her lips. He slowly neared his face to hers and kissed her passionately, they both had loving smiles plastered on in the middle of the kiss before parting away, only to have those smiles to grow even wider.

He intertwined his fingers with hers. "I'll always be yours, no matter where I am, what I've been through; I will never get tired choosing to be yours. And I don't think I'll ever regret it." Serena could swear she saw his eyes slightly glimmer from tears, and she could feel her doing the same.
