Jealous

Jealous (Male's POV, inspired by the song 'Jealous' by Labrinth)

We said goodbye,

But I keep looking over my shoulder,

Hoping to catch a glimpse of an invitation in your eyes,

But I'm too far to see you anymore,

Too preoccupied with this feeling inside.

It chokes me up,

It drives me insane,

I can feel it clawing its way to my heart,

It's coursing through my veins.

It's on the tip of my tongue,

And the aftertaste is bitter,

It's jealousy,

And it feels like a wicked foreigner,

One I had almost forgotten existed.

But yes I'm jealous,

Jealous of the sun that kisses you with its warmth,

More than I could ever,

This I know isn't clever:

To hope for a day when our body heat,

Would share a night between the sheets.

Jealous of the rain,

That you stop to taste,

That makes you shiver,

That drenches you with its touch,

And watches as you grow wetter.

Yes, jealous of the wind,

That engulfs and secretly undresses you,

That steals your scent,

Hears your voice,

Hides your whispers.

Jealous of the stars,

Whose faces you see more frequently,

Who get off visiting you nightly.

Our distance they pity,

For they know that somehow they are closer,

Closer to you than I'll ever be.

Jealous of your shadow,

That forever has your back,

That sees your darkness,

That is your darkness.

Jealous of your sheets,

That caress your body,

That share your bed daily,

the comfort of which you've grown accustomed.

Jealous of your mirror,

That views your nakedness,

That searches your face,

That sees the truths in your eyes.

And your car that revels in your control,

That lets you ride until you reach your destination,

I shouldn't care for your invitation,

But I know my greatest jealousy will rain,

On the next person to whom your love they'll gain.
