Your brightly coloured petals look so dull these days
Your roots,
Conveniently shallow.
Broken promises shatter your ground,
Time enlightens it.
Quit hoping for spring's work,
To shine upon you again,
When knowing the winter's endless.
Cold fronts brush by you,
And with even more coldness depart,
Leaving you numb,
But now in no way surprised.
Tell me what drew you,
To dwell in such deceitful grounds.
Was it the attraction of beautiful blossoms,
As you once were?
Or rather the short term satisfaction,
Of growing amongst your kind?
Did you enter the gates of this garden on your own,
Or were you,
By the hands of others,
Planted there?
Disregarding the motive,
Disregarding the cause,
I beg you to find your feet again,
And if not for you ,
For you are already fighting the great battle of denial
As much as you are acceptance,
But for the sake of me,
Walk again,
Walk away,
And let your destination be to that of your own garden,
For here you do not belong.
Be the exception,
Find your colour,
And let the sweet aroma of your every petal,
Send others following back to the road of life.
