Shadows Of My Heart (poetry from the soul; for the soul)

Fear

Fear complements pessimism,

Leaving behind only the negatives.

Fear only brings forth more,

Making always your negatives come alive.

Allowing you to truly believe that failure is all there is to it,

When it is yourself standing in the way,

So that you become your own road block.

Where there is fear,

Experience knows nothing of,

All there is in its place is even more hesitation,

And less confidence.

Fear can be as deceitful as to merge with confidence,

Causing the highest skyscrapers to fall,

And the best swimmers to drown in the watery depths of its treachery.

Do not be deceived nor become ensnared,

In its endless knots and tangles,

Believe not its false attempts to help you,

For help it may seem to do at first,

Highlighting ever problems so as to prevent them,

But in such a helpless act it seems to be,

These very mistakes you are prone to make,

And before the thunder of realisation is heard,

You are struck by the lightning rod of fear.

Dodge its swift strike,

And break loose of its strenuous tangles,

With your sharp optimism and you'll find,

That all such fear of failure is wrapped up in our own mind.
