Sam McCulloch walked into his bedroom. He looked above the headboard of their bed at the rainbow painting Annie had done for them.
He hung his bathrobe on a hook in his closet and kicked off his slippers, keeping his tee-shirt and boxers on when he walked into the bathroom. When he took a statin pill from a vial on the counter, he realized that he needed to pick up his prescription refill so added the pharmacy to his "to-do" list while in town. He pulled his tee shirt over his head in front of the sink, turning on the water, put the pill in his mouth, then cupped some water in his hand to swallow it. He then splashed his face with warm water, took a badger hair shaving brush, swirled it in a soap mug, and lathered his whiskers. He picked up his safety razor, looked in the mirror, wiped some lather away from his right sideburn with a finger, and began to shave.
