"Hey, I headed off to the bathroom. He's been flirting with me quite a bit. I think he might actually be our guy," Nick sighed.
"Keep him entertained, but don't get yourself into something," I answered back.
"Then how else am I supposed to see if it's him?"
"Just be careful," I answered.
"Hey, there," A girl suddenly said coming up behind me. Act natural, Charlotte. She leaned into me, so close that I could smell her vodka tainted breath. She tucked a piece of my hair behind my ear.
"Oh, an Android?" She asked. "I've never...kissed someone...mechanical."
I giggled nervously. It didn't even sound like a laugh. She looked a bit jarred.
"How old are you?" She asked. I got a good look at her face. I couldn't lie, she's gorgeous. Long blonde hair, with beautiful blue eyes. Bright pink eye shadow, and a bright pink dress, with bright pink pumps. It was dark, but the dress was almost fluorescent. I would call her a Barbie, but she was more sensual than sweet.
"Uh...only a year or two," I chuckled.
"No, no. The age on your ID, silly," She said, still very close to my face. I backed up a little.
"25," I mumbled.
"You're so young," She said.
"Sorry, sorry, I'm looking for a friend," I said nearly taking off.
She grabbed my arm. "But what's your name?"
"Melissa," I answered.
"My name is Melissa, isn't that crazy?" She asked. Suddenly yet another girl came into the conversation. "C'mon, Melissa. She isn't into it."
She looked at the second girl. "God, you never let me have any fun," She said heading off.
"Sorry. Melissa has a tendency to not take a hint. I overhead that you were looking for your friend. What does he look like?" She asked.
"Uh..." I struggled. God damn it, Charlotte. You're terrible at this.
"Oh, you were just trying to get away. That's fair," She shrugged. Suddenly we both heard wretching and turned to see Melissa vomiting on the dance floor. "I've gotta go!"
I watched as Melissa's friend ran towards her. I felt odd but kept looking between people for our guy. Bad tattoos, bad tattoos. I've got to keep focused.
"Charlotte, my stomach hurts. But I think we've got our guy right here. He's all over me, and he wants to give me a tattoo,"
"Nick, don't do anything stupid. If you feel sick, get out."
"No...I'm fine. I think everything is fine," He answered.
Nick sounded completely out of it. Like something was happening. Suddenly, though, I saw a man with poorly drawn tattoos leading another young man into the bathroom. The young man being led had needle scars, and was thin and lean. On the other hand, the man leading him was in great physical condition. But his tattoos were terrible...
I scanned them, only to realize that they looked exactly like our victims.
"Nick, get out of there, I've got the real guy," I said running towards the real bathroom.
"Nah...this guy is hot," Nick answered.
"Nick, do your fucking job and get out of there."
"I think I'm going to vomit."
"Are you drunk?" I asked, still running towards the bathroom. I was pushing between people.
"I think I only had one drink."
"You think?" I yelled.
"Mmm. I don't know," He answered.
Something is happening to Nick...but I've got a serial killer heading into a bathroom with a victim. I continued to push through people, ignoring Nick's incoherent mumbling. I burst into the men's bathroom, gun drawn.
The room was silent. I opened up the first stall, and saw no one there.
"Charlotte. This guy...he's taking me to a backroom."
"Get out of there," I said.
"No, he's going to show me something."
I ignored him and opened up the next stall. No one was there. Silence.
"Charlotte, I'm scared."
"Leave for God's sake."
"I can't."
I ignored him again and opened up the 3rd stall. No one was there.
Just one last stall. I opened up the last one and saw our victim, passed out, but being gently held by his murderer.
"I knew you were coming," he whispered. I grabbed him throwing handcuffs around his wrist. I began to read him his Miranda rights.
"Nick, Nick! I've got him!" I called into the earpiece. There was no answer.
I picked up my phone. "I'm going to need a bus, and back up to my location. Someone needs to check on Nick too. He's unresponsive?" I called.
The murderer chuckled. I threw him up against the sink as I raced towards the victim to check his pulse. There was no pulse. I heard the bathroom door swing open, and ran out of the stall to see the murderer running out. I bolted out, and people had managed to separate to let him through. I chased him down and tackled him.
